    RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - A Brazilian student lost in the Amazon rain forest for six weeks was found by his father, only to die in his arms a short time later, rescue officials said on Tuesday.

    Sounds like he hung on just long enough to say goodbye. At least the father has closure and was able to retrieve his body so it wasn't lost to the animals, leaving him wondering for the rest of his life. Very very sad, but hopefully he can find comfort in closure.

    and THEN.. the Dad had to put his son up in tree to prevent his body from being eaten.. man, what a total bummer..

    I have to wonder what he was doing there. The Amazon doesn't like a place where you go camping on a lark.

    What a horrible way to die. What a depressing way to start the day to read this. :sad:
