so i googled and found some in my area, but i have a few questions i couldnt find an answer for......after you go see a temp agency and turn in the app or whatever...usually how long does it take to actually be somewhere working? a day? week?
Also I assume they drug test?

Keep n mind, most temp agency's are basically job pools.
That is, if an employer needs somebody ASAP and not nessecerily a permanent position, that is when they appraoch the temp agency.
How long it takes is very dependent on your skill-set matching up with what one of their employers needs.
As far as the drug testing, I also think it really depends on the job opening. -
i can tell you a bit more than i did about temp agencies when you originally asked me.
temp agencies have all sorts of jobs available. you basically fill out a sheet and describe what kind of work you're looking for and how far you're willing to travel.
sometimes the jobs don't last long. sometimes the jobs last half a year. sometimes longer. and sometimes they even turn into a long term job for you.
as far as how long it takes you to get work it all depends.
drug test, i'd lay off just like i would if i were using before looking for any kind of work.
better to go without the substances for a bit and get a job then continued substance use and not get a job.
also, the temp agency will take a portion of your pay, but it's not too much. any $ is better than no $.
good luck. -
Thanks for the info. I am going to go to one tomorrow unless they are closed on weekends..
