Gametime: 1pm CBS Stream #1 Here #2 Here #3 Here Texans are 4-0 against the Dolphins, however we have never played them in a game of this importance. Coming into the game hot: JT: 1 sack, 1 tfl, 1 strip against the Titans Brian Hartline has been making 1 50yd + play per game Ricky Williams still averaging 100y ds per game Chad Henne per game avg over the last 4 games is creeping towards 300yds per game. Out: Unknown, probably no one officially "out' but Jake Grove is very doubtful to see the field. Streaks: Texans 2-0 Miami 1-1 At stake: Texans can revive flagging playoff hopes, a win today and they move ahead of the Dolphins and they receive the bump upwards if the Ravens, Broncos and Jags all lose Dolphins: a move into either the #6 position, a Wildcard spot, or knocking on the door at #7. Scorebaord watching: Ravens at Steelers -3 Jets at Colts -4 Denver at Philly -7 Jags at Pats -9.5 KC at Bengals -13.5 Texans at Dolphins -1.5 GO PHINS!!!!
lets go pats philly and most importantly the steelers!!!!!! but most of all.......LETS GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!
I think we concentrate on taking care of our OWN business then worry what comes after. A HUGE DAY AHEAD!
I appreciate it and understand when everyone says this, but I will be peeking at the other games aswell no matter what. But yes what a day this will be! Dolphins explode today 31-17!
I think the front 7 on defense comes out fired up, JP and JT and the Vets know what is at stake, if we sack Schaub twice, the Texans are 3-6. And Henne is a much better Qb at home than on the road. This late December playoff football stuff is fun!
go phins baby it ain't over til the fat lady sings and the last i checked she was still in the buffet line
Well, Ms Ton O' Fun can load up her plate at the buffet..as long as she does not sit down at the Dolphins table to sing...
Like everyone else I read a zillion playoff scenarios all week long involving our Dolphins. I dont even want to imagine what a loss today to the texans will do to me. I might do something drastic so I cant think about it.
I may go on a killing spree if their is no one in the middle of the field if Houston is in the red zone with 5 yards to go.
Wow...it's a bizzaro dolphins forum into a jest board.... Well Adamp, reminds me of a Happy Days episode: Richie had gotten into some trouble with some fellas who were going to beat him up, he talks to Fonzi about and the Fonzz says: "you wouldn't have a problem with them if you had a reputation for being tough, but the only way to get a reputation for being tough is...to do something tough.." We won't start winning those types of game, or this type of game..until we start winning them, that should start today especially with how well JT played last week, he knows what is at stake...win...or the abyss...
you are right about that. i think we're getting a rep for being a physical team but there is still that "sucker" label in that we end up choking games we should be winning. I would love to get rid of that label this year but I think we'll have to wait till next year. Regardless, I am 100% confident that this is the last year for a decade that we have to put up with being a "B" Team. We will be on the A list from here on out
Yeah I agree, last season was sort of based on Pennington's Mojo, smart, efficient football, Henne doesn't have the mojo, not yet, that is why we have to win today, Henne has to get himself established in that manner. I've said I have a good feeling about this game, after the game last week everyone thought the season was over, granted a reprieve, and at home, the Dolphins should play well today.
i said last week the titans game was the only one that worried me. i feel confident about the next two games. i think we'll do our part and hopefully we get lucky
I'm looking at the Vets in key positions, JT/JP, RW, even Fasano, and imho we have that edge in experience in big games, most of our starters have experience in the playoffs from last season the Texans have none. The one hole is Chad Henne and objectively he plays better at home than on the road, as most young Qb's do, so we have some experience and trends going our way today. Now the Steelers have to beat the ravens.
Which means JT and JP have to make some hay in the passrush, they simply must force double teams on Brown's side of the Oline opening the door for Wake and Starks. The usual suspects on the Dolphins inactives list, Turner, Ikeama-Francis etc.
these two veterans must step up along with bell and crowder the veteran leadership on defense has been awful all season long somebody step up please
By 4:30 EST today our day is totally going to change. Either we are going to be depressed at another lost season or elated that Week 17 can be a week we make the playoffs. If Baltimore loses today and Miami wins that will be amazing. What will suck is if Miami wins but so does Baltimore, NE, and Denver...then our goose is cooked. The odds are still against Miami making the playoffs but that can all change in just a few hours. My nerves are about shot but in a good way.
Mornin everyone, Padre, seeing your game thread every sunday morning makes me feel like home buddy.. If pats, steelers and dolphins win today, then we have a showdown with the world champs for the right to play in the playoffs right? good to get back in the swing of things after the holiday's... Iam fat......lol.
That is the beauty of the NFL in December when your team is any good. Games matter, these games REALLY matter all that stuff about Ginn or Wilson won't matter a bit if we win this game.
I wonder if players get this excited and pumped for a game situation? If they do Miami should come out with more fight than ever this season especially if they look up and see either Jax or Pittsburgh winning their game. Miami has to lay everything they have on the line today this is what they're paid for.
I like adding the pictures on page #1, JT this week, he knows the stakes, had a great game last week, I expect him to step up. What ques the game up for me is the Tony Sparano Show on WQAM, it is like a huge "let's get it on" WQAM goes silent and I know it is time to find a Stream.
And to make things better if Miami gets into a "win and your in" situation against Pittsburgh next week then the blown games to the Colts and Saints won't mean a thing anymore (even the blown game against Buffalo). Our whole season will be that game and us as fans won't have to sit around and think about how we should have beaten the Colts or Saints.
