That was all Blake Gideon's fault. He took a terrible angle there.

I guess the questoin taht will come up in the FO minds in terms of McClain is...is there another player tha tcan do waht he does slightly better or just as well in round 2.

You think Weatherspoon would be a better ILB then McClain?

Too many 3 and outs on the TX offense, unless they manage to get some drives going this will be a blowout.

I thought of that too. Then I thought at safety you might have meant read the QB.

    Thanks for the clarification

Yeah he is. Hit the hole with speed and was gone since Gideon took a poor angle.

No. I think McClain is the best ILB in the draft but I wonder how much better he's going to get given that generally he's fundamentally sound.

I wonder what kind of impact it will have on Bama players if they win this game in terms of whether they come out?

Scouts Inc has Berry as the number one player in the draft. Thomas is faster and rangier. Berry is better playing run. There's one inch, 5lbs and one year of experience difference. Thomas ABSOlUTELY is worth the 12th pick because you can do so much with him.

So it all depends what your personal philsophy is.

Do you take the athlete and try and teach him to play football, or do you take the football player who is only an above average athlete.

Bama needs to keep it on the ground until Texas can stop it.

That's a decent enough analogy Alex, although McClain is still a good athlete.

Still, if he continued to make the plays in the NFL that he is making here how much better would he really need to get?

I kind of like him, and he is a rangy player a bit like Sean Smith, but he can tackle and is maybe more explosive.

Things are bad when you go for a 2 yard QB sneak on first and 10

    Definitely.

Which is why I'd take him. He's probably as close to a finished product as you're going to get, and he has the athletic ability to do mostly everything you would ask of him.

He's safe. Because even if he doesn't get leaps and bounds better, he's still going to be a very solid player year in and out IMO.

They just said Thomas is a sophomore (and, according to what I just found out online, he is).

    Is he still draft eligible?
