Rosters are out and there's some pretty strong names on it this year. 43 have been invited to Indy and it's getting better and better each season. Certainly some names to keep an eye on include Dallas Reynolds of BYU, Rulon Davis of Cal, guys I both like as late rounders. Lydell Sargeant at Penn State and Danny Gorrer at A+M. Mike Teel can play QB as the close to his season showed. Even the sun can shine on a dogs behind some days, but he was highly impressive down the stretch. Brandon Ore has talent, Jaison Williams, Jamarko Simmons and Greg Carr are a good group of wideouts, Garrett Reynolds might be the most highly rated player they've had there, Stanley Bryant of EC, Silverfins boy Frantz Joseph, Joe Burnett and Jahi Word Daniels of Georgia Tech.
Joe Burnett, Jahi Word-Daniels, Jamarko Simmons, Garrett Reynolds and Frantz Joseph should all probably be playing in the Shrine game. Too bad.
Yeah. TCUathletics.com had an article saying that he was added to the Texas vs. Nation roster. I'll try to find it.
I really like Greg Carr and a player with his measurables/skill sets is exactly what this offense needs. He never put up the monster numbers but FSU's QB play and offense in general has been a mess for quite a while. Boomer, you think Carr is a 4th round possibility?
Damn, no luck finding the link. I have it written on a notepad that he is participating in the game though.
1st round ability, free agent head. One of the worst route runners you'll ever see. Just the most frustrating WR that we've had in Tallahassee in a long time. Has the sort of ability to be a Hakeem Nicks type, but never seemed to want it enough. That said, there's something about his height and ability to make the catch in traffic enough times that will win some people over. I just don#t see the consistency that would make me happy.
I'm pretty surprised that Reynolds, as easily the best pure RT in the draft, isn't playing in the Senior Bowl.
Seargent seems to have the talent, but never seemed to be able to pull it all together IMO (certainly not on a game by game basis at least). Perhaps that was scheme issues, I don't know. He certainly has a good ceiling IMO though.
Smokin' Joe is an incredible playmaker. I feel confident in saying that he will make it in the NFL as a PR or KR, but as a CB I just don't know yet. He has blazing speed, but is not a lockdown cornerback. He takes a lot chances on plays and sometimes you have to wonder what he is thinking. His PR and KR abilities are incredible, but he still makes stupid plays at times. I remember him fielding the ball at least 2 times off of bounces in traffic. I also remember one kick that he should have fair caught it and didn't; event the refs thought he did fair catch it which he didn't and blew the play dead. Watch this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXkn3JoDpWs"]YouTube - Joe Burnett Inadvertent Whistle[/ame] I wonder how he will do in the Pros, but wish him all the best as a Knight!
Btw Nader Abdallah will be playing. Well earned too he really had a strong year and a pretty good game vs Texas.
i know your an FSU fan to, as am i. so we got to watch him closely. i agree 100%, his route running is pathetic. hes not nearly quick enough or fast enough out of his breaks to get any sort of separation in the NFL. personally i dont think he will get drafted unless he by some miracle runs decent at his workout.
You can say that again. I had theories and practice of football at FSU with him a few years ago and he copied off of a test of mine. Yes that's right, a football player copied off my test for a class about football.
Very funny. When I was at FSU from 1997-2001 I took that same football class my last semester for fun after my major was finished. The class contained none other than Anquan Boldin. Absolutely the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. No pretension or anything.
Yeah, it was definitely the best class I ever took. There were a few football players in the class, but the biggest name was current LA Clipper Al Thornton.
