[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrhBXbVmrWc"]YouTube - Vikings Adrian Peterson "Jim Brown" style 64 yard TD run against Browns[/ame] This guy makes freakishly good plays on a regular basis. He NEVER gets caught from behind. He's strong as an ox. He is the best football player alive. LT move over, there's a new king of the gridiron.
its one thing i see with ronnie, that i thought his combine would've proved otherwise. Ronnie gets caught, despite a very nice 40 time. but AP just never gets caught from behind. he closes every time. and dont get me wrong. i LOVE ronnie on miami. i cant think of too many backs i'd prefer in his place.
I agree with that, ronnie always seems to have a problem outrunning everyone at the end. Having said that I love backs like ronnie and peterson. They are earl campbellish. They don't go around you they go over you.
In all honesty, if Ronnie had 8 guys blocked out of the play, he could do the exact same thing. He didn't even face contact from one DL or LB. He juked a CB, let another one over run the play, then stiffs arms another one. Thats good use of his hands, but most RBs should make that play if they get 8 blocks. Pause the video at the 3 second mark and you'll see.
Yeah that guys pretty much unstoppable. He was awesome at Oklahoma. You could see him doing really well in the NFL, even then. I hope he has a great career.
And what 6 teams passed on him? About the only player who really should have possibly gone ahead of him was Calvin Johnson. Could you imagine if the Cardinals had taken AP instead of Levi Brown? Holy crap that would be an offense ... Edit - the best WR and best RB in the league right now came from that draft!
At like the 30 when he turned it back on, wow. He should have been caught from behind. With that said, he had about 20 free yards (as in before chance of contact). I'd love our line to make holes like that.
the blocking is amazing. but the reason it isnt a nice 20 yd run is because he runs through two tacklers, and stiff arms another 2.
Who cares, give him what he wants. I'd love the GM to sit straight faced across from him and say he doesn't deserve the top money. That guy should win a balls the size of my house award.
