I just watched "Live Free or Die Hard" last night. It was fun...long, but fun. Despite my dislike for Timothy Elephant, he did a decent job. Good, solid follow up movie for the series. So im watching some special features, and one is a back-lot interview with Kevin Smith and Bruce Willis. I like Kevin Smith, I actually know him, so i root for him a bit with some bias. (yes i know Jersey Girl is unwatchable). But he did a nice little job in this film I thought. Anyway, Bruce goes on to say that he loves this film and endorses it whole heartedly, and he's glad that the Die Hard series has two very solid book ends, with 1 & 4 being great, and the middle two not being up to his liking or standard. He basically said he had beef with the two middle films in a round-about way. Now I dont care for Die Hard 2, but jeez, I thought "Die Hard with a Vengeance" with Sam Jackson was a really awesome movie! I thought it was a lot cooler, and more funny and interesting than this last one, even though I did like Die Hard 4. So I was shocked that Bruce Willis himself wasn't satisfied with Die Hard 3. I thought it was one of the great action movies of the 90s. Interested to hear your thoughts on this, not that its a big deal. But I thought Die Hard 3 rocked, and thought that was the pretty popular consensus as far as action movies go. I certainly thought it was better than this last one. Chime in. And Que, keep it pedestrian will ya? I know i'm not dealing with Ingmar Bergman here. You gotta come down to my level on this one.
I agree with you. I liked 3 at least as much as 4. I didn't think I would care all that much for 4 but it was good for what it was. And I'm a Kevin Smith fan. Loved Clerks 2.
I liked 3 and 4 quite a bit. I have to deduct some minor points for the F-35 scene in 4 though. Being in the Air Force, I know that the things that pilot did would never happen. Other than that, great movie. I liked 2 as well. Guess I am easy to please
I think 3 might be the worst one, but that isnt saying it's bad. I thought all 4 were good. I'd agree with him that 1&4 are the best in the series but I dont know why he'd have problems with the middle 2.
The first one was a classic, the next 3 were mediocre or worse. Honestly I thought that 4th one was garbage. That airplane one the on ramp scene was just silly. The first one I've seen probably 10 times the next three I've seen once and wouldn't sit through again.
judging by your comment, your lana lang sig, and a man that i believe is sly in your avy...id have to say that you are just about the perfect poster.
