Hey, I'm just trying to get way more than my player is worth by having an auction. Seems to be working for others.
I understand but when a guy has a cap like that it will take some negotiating. PM is the best way to start. This is not an auction because that goes to the highest bidder and you said you might not even trade him.
It's still an auction. He will go to the highest bidder, provided the highest bid reaches my minimum requirement.
If I'm going to ruffles feathers by trying to have an auction, then I won't. I don't need to trade Manning. Hell, I don't even really want to. I've just spent the last week watcihng teams lose their frikkin minds bidding in these auctions, I thought I'd try. And Eli seemed to be my best bet.
OK. Auctions is off. Mostly because I couldn't be bothered. Too busy in the FA threads. If anyone has real offers for Manning I will entertain them. Don't bother sending an offer of less than 2 draft picks. And at least one of them should be a first rounder.

We congratulate Carolina on their acquisition of Eli Manning... while we thought it was a good idea to seek out Eli and perhaps rewrite history if the price was right.. Carolina paid more than we were willing to offer since Archie still doesn't like San Diego. We have now assured Rivers that as long as Cutler stays in Denver, he'll face him twice a year... that was enough to appease him... oh and a new contract on the horizon didn't hurt...
