Kevin Smith sounds good. DeSean Jackson might be a nice option down the line. For your PPR league, keep Portis and Jamal Lewis. The rest of those guys are "show me." Oh, one more team issue I forgot to leave out: I have another team with Derek Anderson as my starting QB, but I picked up Kurt Warner after he was made the starter. Which of the two do I start? Or do I work a trade of Warner to Coral Reefer, who has Matt Leinart?
Another PPR league: At W/T: Tony Scheffler, Bernard Berrian, Anothony Fasano, or Dustin Keller (currently is Berrian with Fasano as my starting TE) Same league, at QB: Aaron Rodgers or Matt hasselback (currently have Matt, there are points per completion in this league)
I'd work a trade, but start Warner if I couldn't get one done (only because DA is at the Cowboys and coming off a concussion and 0 game time the last 2 weeks).
Keep Berrian. As for Rodgers/Hasselbeck, depends: do you think Hasselbeck can perform despite his top two receivers being out and his sore back? If so, start him. I say start Rodgers, though.
Last league (PPr): I have 2 RB slots and a flex, w/ Ricky Williams, Brandon Jacobs, Maroney, and Steven Jackson. (I have Jacobs on the bench ATM).
I don't know, I am 50/50 on the QB issue. I think Hasselback will complete more passes is my only thing. Got any advice for my ****ty QB situation like 6 posts up?
I just meant Browns are playing the Cowboys, sorry. I did think they were on the road though because the game is on fox.
How in the hell did you let yourself get into THAT situation?! Get JaManboob Russell and maybe even Matt Ryan depending on how you feel about O'Sullivan. Go for the guys with the most upside.
Qbs just kept getting snatched right before I picked, and I didn't want to reach. It just worked out very badly. Edit: actually I just looked, and I origonally drafted Leinart to be my starter, and well that ended up hurting a lot (Warner got drafted in the last round). Though my other options did keep getting selected before I settled on leinart.
Ok depth, a lot of potential. I was trying to get Kitna, but the guy has not gotten back to me. Edit: you are in the same league, lol. Wanna trade your backup?
I would seriously try to get Jay Cutler. A lot of people underrate him, but he's going to have a breakout campaign this year.
burelson def... meachem had that monster preseason, but you dont know how much he'll be used now that the real action will begin...
I have a question: "Who would you guys start; Lee Evans or Larry Johnson?" Evans takes on the Seahawks and Johnson the Pats. As of now I am starting Evans. Thanks in advance.
tough choice... i personally though would start LJ... the patriots D is just not going to be as good as it has been in the past i think... I think KC will score some points, and anytime they get in the redzone LJ will get the carries... so id go with him
Larry Johnson. The Jills are using Lynch more in the passing game, and Evans kind of coughed up a hairball last year. Last one, I promise: third receiver slot, Derrick Mason or Javon Walker?
I would pickup Russell, or Edwards. Better targets to throw to. Although Jackson can also give you points with his legs.
Yeah, Mason looks like the guy this week. Walker is apparently not ready to go, and besides, Mason looked great with Flacco throwing to him. Okay, I lied in my last post: Roddy White or Kevin Smith in a flex slot? I keep going back and forth on them. (Detroit travels to Atlanta this weekend. I also have Fred Taylor and Santana Moss.)
Def Roddy White. Do you guys really think Deshaun Jackson over Kevin Walter? I really cant feel good about starting a rookie WR in his first game over Walter.
White over Smith? i dont know, smith is gonna get 20 carries his game against an Atlanta defense that is basically *** cheeks... i dont know id like kevin smith over Roddy
It is PPR, and you guys aren't making this easier. Depends on where Jackson is on the depth chart. I like him a lot, and think he'll surprise this year, especially with Curtis out and no clear #1 guy right now. But if you're uncomfortable with it, just go with Kevin Walter. It's hard to fault that decision.
That's what I was thinking, but then I remembered all those great games Warner put up last year coming off the bench and that Cardinals vs. 49ers tend to be high scoring affairs. Carson Palmer's receivers are banged up going against a still tough Raven's D. But you still think Palmer? I guess there's a lot to be said for playing the guys you draft to start. Hmmmm....I think you might be right but I don't think it's so clear cut...
I know TJ said he was ready to go in the last preseason game but they held him out so im not concerned with him. Ocho said hes 100 percent and hes back to his old workout routine. I dont think theres too much cause for concern right now for Palmer. I have him and Im starting him. Of course my backup is Garcia.
Damnit! Now I really am confused. I'm leaning towards Roddy because of the PPR rules, but... arg. Monstblitz, Palmer without question. Ocho Stinko will be fine, Housh is healthy, and they'll probably establish the run early to make the play-action pass more effective. I'm very down on Baltimore's defense this year; they're just like us last year.
I would say Kevin Smith. Teams already know that Detroit can throw it, which may make things easier for Smith in terms of not dealing with a stacked box. The Jets will probably stack the box to stop the run because we haven't been able to throw it. Plus Ronnie will likely get equal time.
Rudi's still dinged up. It's just an upgrade for Detroit's depth. (Remember, Detroit only has 2 RBs on the roster, Smith and Johnson.)
Which is exactly why I'd start Smith if I was you, Des. He's the bird in the hand. Detroit's looking like it's going to welcome the chance to establish the run with Martz gone and Atlanta not exactly having a fearsome run-defense last year despite not looking too bad on paper. White on the other hand has a rookie QB behind center, which I'm not particularly sold on, especially in regard to this year. I could easily see Smith having a field day while White is stuck with 3 receptions and a couple of yards. Then again, remember that I'm the novice here
Oh, they absolutely want to run it. Martz was fired over his pass/run ratio, or lack thereof. But it's still a PPR league. If Roddy gets 6 catches, 70 yards, and a TD, that's almost 20 points. Posted via Mobile Device
