To begin this I need each of you to make an argument why you deserve to win this game. It can be as long or short as you like.

After both players have made their opening argument every jury member has the option to ask each player any questions they'd like in one post. The players must respond to a jury member's post/question but they have the option to do it any way they like.

Once every jury question has been answered, or Wednesday 8:00PM EST comes (whichever comes first) the jury will vote for who they want to win. Instead of casting your vote for the person you want out of the game you post your vote for who you, out of the two people, want to win. Feel free to post your arguments once you see this thread. There should be a decent amount of stats on the overall page to skew some stats in your favor.

Well, gentlemen of the jury, it's in your hands now. You will decide the ultimate winner of this Survivor. First I'd like to congratulate you all on a tough, hard fought game. Believe me when I say this, it wasn't easy for me or GridIronKing (GIK) to get to the end. And that's a true testament to you all and how hard each and every one of you played this game. Thank you for fighting the good fight. Special thanks to our host for setting this all up. I'm sure it wasn't easy dealing with all of us.

Now then, why should I win ThePhins.com Survivor? Why am I more deserving over GIK? To truely answer these questions, we need to go back to the draft and see that I faced an uphill battle. I had never met anyone outside this forum in "real" life. Sure, I know some of you from other contests, the GM League, the Dolphins' Survivor game that MonstBlitz runs annualy. But I wasn't the first draft choice of Sick's Marshall's Marshalls, GIK was. And I knew that GIK had met Sick, E, Skeet in "real" life and to be weary of this as we proceeded through the game.

The first team challenges were lots of fun. It was clear who the strong players were on our team. And it was clear that some of us had to go before the strong ones. When we lost two out of the first three challenges, and then three out of the first five, it was evident that a strong nucleus was forming on our team. Six of us remained after that seventh challenge and we needed to get on a roll or none of us would have a chance at the end of this game. Then came one of the turning points, the Name that Person challenge. Not only did we obliterate the other side, I felt somewhat responsible for winning that challenge. We were down to five pictures on that first night. I posted them on various message boards that I know get lots of traffic and sure enough four of the five pictures were solved. Sick got the last pic (Fred Flintstone's voice) and the turnaround had begun. We went on to win three straight challenges in a row, including my favorite the Sliding Puzzle Competition (where IIRC, I had the high score on each puzzle).

After the chatroom trivia challenge victory, it was clear that we'd be going into the merge with numbers. There was nothing to worry about, or so I thought. And that's when the defining moment in the game happened. A simple private message from our leader, Sick. He unveiled his plan after the merge, and that his final five didn't include everyone from MM, as we had all discussed previously. The ship jumping had taken shape. He wanted me and GIK to join Skeet and E in the final five. Again, they were all friends outside this game.... I knew I would have been out of that group fairly quickly once we got down to that point in the game. However, of equal importance to me was the fact that the guys who we'd just fought side by side and won three challenges in a row with would merely become sacrificial lambs and tossed aside. I couldn't let that happen. I wanted all of us to get to the end (final five). And so I forwarded Sick's PM to the rest of the tribe. They sided with me and a plan was formulated to get Sick out before the merge. The only way to do that was to throw that last team challenge. We couldn't go into the merge with a question over our heads that even though we had the numbers (six to three) Sick could jump and POSSIBLY take GIK with him.

One might ask, weren't we afraid that GIK would jump ship anyway? The answer to that is a simple no. I trusted GIK fully. He knew, like I did, that he had no shot at getting to the end with Sick's final five. Sure Sick was upset at being voted out, who wouldn't be at that point in the game? And he used the rationale that once the merge happened, that no longer was it a team game but an individual one. That's where his thought process was wrong and that's where mine was working perfectly. By forwarding Sick's PM to the rest of the tribe, I had formed an even stronger bond with each of them. We were already a team to that point... now we were an alliance... a final five alliance. I had secured their trust by proving my loyalty.

Of course, as time went on and BEBB member after BEBB member fell by the way side, I'm sure each of us started to think about what would happen once we got to the final five. We also knew that as long as one of us won, that's really all that mattered. For me, I knew who I wanted in the final three at that point and without going into too much detail, a plan was put into place that would secure the 4th and 5th members of MM and make sure they didn't "jump ship."

The only problem was that our good friend dender wins that challenge, and we have to vote out one of our own. Certainly a tough moment, and really the only failure in our plan. It was a good opportunity I suppose to vote out the person who I think played the hardest in this game in Pennphinfan. I had to make sure that he didn't know it was coming. At worst the vote could have been a tie and one of my final three alliance faced being the next to go. That wasn't an option. So I had to make sure Rocky knew we were voting out PPF... and that PPF thought we were voting out Rocky.

Thankfully, the next challenge went our way and dender was eliminated from the game. Once I beat Rocky in the Curveball game, I knew we were set. The final three had come down to exactly who I wanted it to be. And I knew that I had about a 99% chance of being in the final two no matter who won the final challenge.

And that my friends is it. That's how I got to where I am after facing relatively long odds at the beginning of the game. I argue that I played the best social game AND was the best in the challenges (certainly the non graphic artist ones :tongue2:). And that's what makes me deserving of the title of Sole Survivor. Outwit - check... Outplay - check....Outlast - hopefully check. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I look forward to answering all of your questions.

It's the down to the final two and my destiny is in seven other individual's hands. I felt like I was in control in the entire Survivor contest, up until now. This is the point where I make a statement telling you to vote for me. I know many of you have your mind made up and have had your choice ready since being voted out. I respect that decision and you've earned the right to that decision by lasting to that point.

With the team games, I felt I was a good competitor doing my best to help the team win. I didn't really care about recognition because the point of the games were to win them. We won them for the most part, six out of the eleven challenges. The majority of them is all that really mattered. When Paul approached me after receiving a PM about SICK, I decided it was in my best interest in teaming up with him where I would have control over my own destiny. We were able to talk to the rest of our team and they obviously were not happy to be apart of SICK's future plans. SICK is a great leader and definitely got the short end of the stick in this contest... While he may not have been one who was deserving to be voted out... in order to stay in control, Paul and I felt that he was the right one to go.

After this decision, I had to make an even tougher decision. This was a situation that was basically like tug-o-war. There is really no other way to put it. On one end, you have two close friends, Skeet84 and BIG E, wanting me to join forces with their end on BEBB. On the other end, you have the rest of my teammates who have all formed a pact. A pact that I agreed to as well. We all know the decision that I made and regardless of what decision I made, I was leaving plenty of people unhappy. I know that Skeet84 and BIG E are still pretty sore from my decision, but hopefully they've come to terms with why I made the decision I made. Two upset people is easier to deal with than four upset people. I had no real past with either MonstBlitz or denderfeliac. They were fierce competitors without question, but I had no reason to align with them over the rest of my teammates.

After Skeet84 was voted out, the BEBB tower began to crumble leaving just denderfeliac left. Amazingly enough, denderfeliac was able to win a challenge forcing us to vote out one of our own. That man would be none other than pennphinfan. Pennphinfan was instrumental to our team's success. Without him, we definitely would not have succeeded in some of our team challenges. While we hated to let go of one of our best, it was in our best interest to let one of the best go if we wanted to survive. Paul and I talked to PSG because of our GM League ties and were able to have a 3-man army. At that point, we talked to both Rocky Raccoon and pennphinfan. They both thought they were voting each other out. Neither were going to talk to one another because why would they? They're voting each other out... Or so they think. That, my friends, is called strategy.

Unfortunately the next challenge would not fare well for denderfeliac. The poor guy really had no chance in this challenge as it was a game of numbers and the numbers were certainly not in his favor. The next choice was an easy one as denderfeliac was voted out in a 4-1 vote. The next idea was to not let Rocky Raccoon win. We felt it was going to be a tough one because it seemed like Rocky was a clutch player for us. When we needed something big to happen, he's the one who showed up. The arcade challenge was one I felt like I had a chance in. However Paul showed his age and abused me in the Pac-Man game. I think I spent two hours right before the deadline trying to beat his score but I just couldn't do it. Rocky was able to beat PSG in the Pac-Man challenge and was soon facing Paul in a Curveball competition. This upset me because Curveball is probably my favorite Arcade game and I felt I would have beat any of the three in this game. Paul was able to get the win and Rocky was voted out. Rocky Raccoon is a guy who is loyal and could be trusted. Paul and I had a plan in place, but we wanted to make sure that our five would get as far as possible. Rocky helped us get to where we are now, without him... it probably wouldn't have the same outcome. And for that, Rocky, I thank you for being an excellent teammate that we could trust 100% of the way.

The final challenge was a Miami Dolphins trivia challenge which pitted myself against Paul and PSG. I knew if I wanted to make it to the final two, I had to make sure I won that thing. I thought Paul would take myself to the final two had he won, but I wasn't so sure PSG would take me. The best way for me to guarantee my spot in the final two was just to win. There was no strategy here, I just had to outplay two other men behind computer screens, which I did. I hated to have to vote out PSG, because someone had to be the odd man out. I want to say that PSG was a crucial part of our team. Without him, we would not have the three-man pact that would ultimately propel us from the final five to where we are now... And I hope you understand it was a decision that I hated to make.

    Survivor.
    Outwit.
    Outplay.
    Outlast.

I outwit many. I deceived many to win. I do not feel like I stabbed anyone in the back. Others may think I think I did. Ironically though, they felt I stabbed them in the back... because I didn't stab my entire team in the back. I really don't know if they feel the same way now. There's nothing I can say that will change what happen. You have to outwit people to survive... I did that and so did Paul.

I outplayed many. My teammates and I outplayed the opposing team. We won the majority of our challenges. There isn't much to say other than that. As a team, Marshall's Marshalls won six challenges while BIG E's Buffet Busters won five challenges. In my book, the definition of outplaying someone is to beat them. We did that. I outplayed everyone in the Final Nine except one person. That one person is standing next to me currently. We both won two challenges each while MM members, pennphinfan and Rocky Raccoon, took one challenge and you cannot forget BEBB member denderfeliac miraciously pulling off the victory in a challenge as well. I outplayed 18 people. I was outplayed by none.

I outlasted ____. This is where you fill in the blank. It's YOUR decision. It's in YOUR hands. There isn't a challenge I can win to guarantee me the win. The most I can do is give you this speech, answer your questions, and hope you pick me. You will not get any PMs from me asking you to vote for me. Why? Because you earned your right to vote. No one likes the voice messages you may receive from political parties asking you to vote for them. I hate that and I am sure many of you hate that as well. Right now, I have outlasted all but one. I have outlasted eighteen competitors with one left standing. I cannot say I outlasted them all until after your vote.

Paul and I have outwitted them all.

Paul and I have outplayed them all.

But neither of us can say we outlasted them all until you make your decision.

Either of us would be an excellent choice for the winner of thePHINS.com Survivor. However I want you all to keep in mind... I was the one that took Paul to the final two. And not the other way around.

Regardless of the outcome, I want to thank everyone for playing. Everyone, especially Dolfan984, has made this a very enjoyable experience and I look forward to it again next year if I am invited back. I look forward to any questions you have for me, but now I must get some sleep... as I will never forgive myself if I sleep through tomorrow's game! Thanks for reading and here's to a Miami Dolphins win!

Griddles: You made a statement to me in my PM that was really full circle for me regarding this game, IMO. You said I was falsely representing you when I made the statements to your team I did, which I was, I completely admit it, but you opened that can of worms first my friend. You misrepresented yourself as our ally from day one. And your arguement for it is really kind of beside the point, IMO. This is a game, for all sense and purposes, just a game. You risked not one(me), not two(skeet), but three(sick) real life friendships for a chance to win a game. I hope you know I had no false hopes of winning this game. I knew any way you looked at it skeet, you, someone was going to vote me off. BUT, I also knew it was going to be us voting each other off. We started this game as a strong alliance but of course Fin-o is an idiot...but anyways. My question to you is was it worth it? Was making it all the way to second place on an internet message board game worth damaging the friendships you have? And you can say Skeet needs to get over it all you want, he has, to a point.

Paul: Be honest you used Griddles as a pawn. You knew he would get you this far and would be mostly voted against which would leave you as the winner, my question to you is how does it feel to be a winner? :wink2:

I have a question. This one is for Paul_13:

    Paul,
I have a a personal issue where I sometimes associate the poster with the person or thing in their avatar. Throughout this contest, staring back at me in your posts has been a smug looking, arrogant prick from some season of a reality show that I never watched. That half-goat on the face of your avatar has annoyed me to no end. Making any comment you made in this contest seem 79% smarmier than it probably really was.

GIK, on the other hand had the cute and cuddly Meatwad as his avatar. Meaning he could have told me my mother was a whore, and it wouldn't have bothered me much.

Because of this, you really do have an uphill battle if you want my vote.

    My question:

Will you consider changing your avatar to something that will annoy me less to earn my vote? I'm thinking Rainbow Brite might be soothing enough to make up for what I've endured from your avatar.

    Thanks in advance!

    Sincerely,
    Blitz

    My honest opinion eh?

    Yes.

If you guys hate me over an internet message board game... then I truly think you need to re-evaluate the meaning of friendship. I didn't screw anyone over money-wise, family-wise, or anything of the matter. Had I screwed you guys over in something that actually matters... then I would regret it. But in the end, people will forget about this. It's just a game.

That's how I look at it... How you look at it is up to you. I am not kissing your *** for your vote. If you want to tell me I broke a friendship because of an internet message board game... then I would have to say that you value friendship differently than I do. If something that means so little in the grand scheme of it all can make such a large impact on your life... then I don't know what else to tell you.

If I have hurt anyone's feelings in this game, I am sorry that your feelings were hurt but I am not sorry for how they were hurt. None of my decisions were on a personal matter. None. If you vote against me, I won't hold it against you or be upset about it. It's just a game.

Lets just say I was well positioned to make sure I was in the final two no matter who won that final challenge. :wink2: I will also say, had I won that final challenge, I would have had a gut wrenching decision to make. Jorden said prior that he wanted the winner to make the final vote right there and then. Would have taken me some time.

Well, damn. This is going to be hard as both were great members of my team. However, Paul is the douchebag who beat me in the arcade game, leading to my vote off. As for GIK, he came through in a lot of the challenges and was always there to offer advice. A great teammate.

    So my question is...

Paul, how do you succeed at being such a major bag of douche? :shifty:

In all seriousness, both of these guys were great to play with and Paul kept us together as the merge was coming on when we didn't know what would happen. It will not be easy for me to make a decision.

Hah... well, that was part of my overall plan, being a douche to the other team. Get them off their game, distract, while we extract their members... errrrrr.. :shifty: I also think this helped unify our team and as you point out so well, kept us together going into the merge. There can only be one winner of course, but the team aspect was a huge personal victory for me. Could that cost me votes? Perhaps, but I hope the BEBB members can at least respect my overall strategy.

regardless of who wins i want to thank jorden for putting this on as well as wrangling us all to keep this organized and on track other than unforeseen bumps in the road and that i look forward to seeing you all (the serious players) in season2.

Congratulations to both of you, you worked hard to reach the end of a game that's designed to dissolve relationships.
Congrats to Paul 13- You performed admirably in most challenges and were a major contributor to securing wins for your team.
Congrats to GIK- The BEBB were so sure that you were on board that we didn't even consider a contingency plan.
I assure you both that my compliments are sincere and i bear no hard feelings towards either of you for how the game unraveled. :knucks:

My question to the both of you is what specifically have you done to set your self appart from the person next to you? (More specifically what in your mind makes you the obvious winner?) Most of the jury wasn't privy to the intimate workings of the MM's camp and any tangible evidence cited will go a long way. I am eager to hear your responses and though I can't speak for the rest of the jury i am very much on the fence and like most voters can most likely be wooed by the last person who campaigns for my vote. :shifty:

First, thanks for the kind words... too bad your not a Dolfan or I'd dry hump you.. To answer your question, I revert back to the time when we ousted Sick and secured a strong final five alliance amongst the remaining MM members. After Sick's PM to me regarding who he wanted in the final five, I replied to him asking him why we were deviating from our plan to stick together as MM until the end. He never responded. So I had no choice but to gather the troops, take command and make sure everyone was on board with the plan to throw the challenge and get Sick out before the merge. For this to be successful, I had to be very careful who I approached first, even though I sent out a mass PM to the four other guys. Later that night, I called as many people as I could into a meebo chat room, starting with GIK and PSG. I knew that as long as I could get them on board it would be much easier for Penn and Rocky to follow. Everyone felt slighted by Sick's PM anyway, so it wasn't too hard to convince them. Still I made sure that the two guys closest to me (GIK and PSG) were well aware of what was happening before it actually happened. GIK was involved in the plan, but I feel that I organized the plan from start to finish.

Also, after the merge, GIK approached me about "spying" for the other side (BEBB) as he knew they would trust him. We talked a lot about what we should do, how far we should take it. I was worried that if he continued that it would be very easy for any of the BEBB members to discuss GIK's "jumping to the other side" with any of the MM members. And that they may question his loyalty to us. I decided it was in both our best interest to cease any further "playing" of the BEBB members and that there was no reason to get too cute. We had it in the bag, we had the numbers. No point in rubbing their noses in it. GIK agreed. So again, I feel I was in control of the situation, with all due respect to my brother GIK. I did have to laugh when I would get PM's from certain people who had already been voted out telling me that someone on our side was jumping. How little they knew....

I also feel that I was one step ahead of everyone in this game when it came to knowing who was going home leading up to a particular vote off. Even up until the very end, GIK said it himself, he didn't know for sure that PSG was going to take him to the final two. I knew. :wink2:

Of course, I don't know how this is going to turn out. I hope I win, but if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing, well other than getting YOU out before the final five.

While Paul seemed like the leader and mastermind of it all, I was the one whispering in his ear what to do. I was leading through him. It was myself who told him to go to PSG before the others. I could have likely made it to the final two with BEBB's side, but I would not have control at that point. I knew I'd be here in the final two. I would have bet money on it. I crushed Paul and PSG in the final competition, it was really no contest.

Who was the better player? Myself. I had control of my destiny the entire time. When the final nine occurred, Paul was ****ting bricks wondering if MM would stick. I knew MM would stick together, their unity seemed unbreakable in my eyes.

What makes me stand out over Paul... is that he was one vote away from being ousted in the first round of the final nine. I was not... and it was my vote that kept him breathing.

EDIT: That and I don't keep nude photos of Mark Sanchez in my desk drawers... Paul, you've got some reeeeal problems, buddy.

Just so we are clear I was never mad that I got voted out. I was simply mad because someone who I called a friend would just straight lie to me for weeks about something they didnt have too. There was no need to lie when you could have said nope I am voting with my team. I understood. I know its just a game but that doesn't mean you have to just lie thru your teeth about every little thing that comes out of your mouth when there is no need.

I am glad I was on the team I was on and glad I made new freindships. E I love you (no homo)

Also PSG and Rocky I told you guys what was going to happen and you act shocked when you got voted off when you did.

How did you tell me what was going to happen? I made it to the final 3 just like I knew would happen. And I also know if GIK won he'd probably take Paul to final 2. I had a 2 out of 3 chance of making it to the final. Too bad for me the wrong person won th final challenge.
I was hardly shocked I got voted out when I did. Once GIK won that final challenge I knew I was done.

You thought you had alliance with someone else and thought you were going to final two. Just saying you and Rocky could have really made it to the final 2 very easily

ohhhh... where to begin? All I have to say is leaders lead... EXPLICITLY. Those that follow... explicitly.. say after the fact that they were whispering in the leaders ear what to do all the time. The only thing you were whispering in my ear were sweet nothings about how you wanted to give me a reach around. :pointlol: The other three MM guys know who it was that was leading. Oh, and you telling me to go to PSG is quite hilarious as I was already talking to him...

Oh and congrats on being able to copy and paste faster than me ... you young buck you... the final challenge was not a trivia challenge at all.. It was who could research how many yards Dan Marino threw for in 1994 faster. That's not testing our knowledge of Dolphin trivia. Although there was one question about who was the backup quarterback in 1977... I was busy answering the question while you were still fumbling around in google. :shifty:

Whatever man there was tons of questions that were Dolphins trivia. The backup was fricken Don Strock (a very famous Dolphins backup) How many years was Don Shula coach? You guys may not have known but I knew it was 26 years without having to look it up. To me, that kind of stuff is trivia. Just because you didn't know every answer or every question wasn't as easy as you liked doesn't mean it wasn't Dolphins trivia.

Stop crying about that last challenge. Very tired of you *****ing about my challenges. P.S. I retract my picks for captains until next year.

If either Paul or I won the final challenge, I would've made it to the final 2. (Unless I got played by Paul)
You claim I was shocked I got voted out when I did. That's not true. The second GIK won, I knew I was gone.

If I went your proposition, I would've been long gone before the final 3.
