Sorry, I've been reading a lot of Head Coach threads today. The reason why I'm not a big fan of Guillen is that I can't stand his expletive filled tirades. I mean I love that the guy is passionate, but I just don't like how he shows it. Usually when ESPN shows one of his rants I can only make out every other word because it isn't censored and I think it reflects bad on the organization. Also I'm not sure how his style can mesh with this organization. Remember when Joe Giradi basically got fired after his confrontation with Loria because he told Jeff off for heckling the umpires? Actually now that I think about it Guillen will probably be heckling the umps right along with Loria, so it might not be too bad after all. I guess though if Ozzie wins games, I can deal with the other stuff. He is definitely the most competent manager we've had since Giradi so here is to hoping for a amazing season next year.

I've had enough of conservative, say-nothing guys. Guillen would help the Marlins stand out in the local market by being different from Spoelstra and Sparano('s successor).

Rumor says that Joey Cora will join Guillen in Miami.

You don't like it when Ozzie curses? I love it. He has the best post game conferences, ever. He once told a reporter to f*ck off.

Imagine how he's going to deal with Morrison and Ramirez.

Well enjoy Ozzie,he brought my White Sox to a title in '05, he will bring fire and passion with him, don't be surprised if our ACE Mark Buehrle signs with the Marlins, his contract is up this season.

I have met Ozzie a few times before and after they won the title, real cool guy.

I will be sad to see him go....thanks Ozzie for the Title in '05:up:

    Good luck with the Marlins...

Beinfest on Sedano says Infante has not been extended yet, will not confirm Ozzie but says they're very interested, and says they'll be very very busy this winter.

    .

Good move by the Marlins getting Ozzie. Gotta be honest though, the reason I like it is because you know there's gonna be some serious drama.

Beinfest, Hill, Loria, Samson...Ozzie? Which one is not like the others. Should be fun to watch.

For the first time in a while, I'm now excited for baseball to come back around. Some reports that we'll be spending a bit more money this year. We get a new manager who has won something. We already have a few nice players.

I also no longer have to beg for the deportation of Leo Nunez.

White Sox acquired SS Osvaldo Martinez and RHP Jhan Marinez from the Marlins for manager Ozzie Guillen.

The odd agreement was finalized on Tuesday afternoon, with Guillen signing a four-year contract to the be the new manager of the Miami Marlins. Martinez, a 23-year-old infielder, was selected in the 11th round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft. He's a decent defender with good speed, but is far from a major prospect. Marinez is a 23-year-old middle reliever.

Rumor, best guess "Zambrano is close friends with Guillen, and there's a good chance they could both take their talents to South Beach in 2012."

With Guillen, the marlins potential free agents (big), new stadium, hanley, JJ, lomo and his thousands of twitter followers, the big 3 for the heat, and the "U" scandal.......how can they NOT have a ESPNMiami !? (Not that I want a ****ty org. like ESPN constantly giving us write-ups) but I feel we deserve the attention (south Florida sports)

The only way we get ESPN Miami is if the Marlins win 10 titles, the Dolphins sign Tom Brady, and the Panthers win 3 titles.

Anybody watch the closing ceremonies? That video of Conine raising the flags at the new park looked staged. The sky in the background was midnight black, when it was dusk here in Miami.

Having said that, I got really teary eyed seing Chris Hammond, Alex Arias and Benito Santiago again. I could've done without Bruce Aven and other weird obscure Marlins. At least bring back Brett Barberie, Oreste Destrade, Devon White, Kevin Millar, Bruce Hardy, Trevor Hoffman, Bobby Bonilla or Greg Zaun, before you trot out Rick Helling and 1999's hitting coach or whatever.

I liked that Livan said "he still loves Miami."
