Where is it ?
You guys pooh-poohed me when I told you that I heard it from Rosenhaus that Miami was a toxic waste land for the upcoming FA period. Its so bad, that Ireland is having to trade to get anyone to come here. And if they don't get them, he has wasted valuable time and let other FA's get away that he could have been aquiring.
I'm afraid to hear what picks he has traded to get Bush and Orton, if those come true. :pity: He could be handcuffing the next regime's ability to upgrade for a couple of years, and the cycle of mediocrity will continue. We have become the new form of the Detroit Lions. :tantrum:
So far, Ireland is NOT impressing me at all.
If we end up with Reggie Bush and Kyle Orton, and the Jets get NNamdi Asomough, and the Pats end up with Haynesworth for just a 2013 5th, how can anyone defend Ireland ?

Lets not forget to.. this regime is pretty tight lipped about alot of things. We could have some deals in place with some other free agents that just haven't been announced yet and you may see them all come rolling in Friday at 6pm when guys can officially sign.
Wishful thinking maybe :lol:dolfan7171 likes this. -
It's been one day bro. One day. They can't even technically sign anyone for another 33 hours.
It sounds like you're going to be disappointed no matter what.
What should they have done, or should they be doing?felly smarts, Pagan, Colorado Dolfan and 14 others like this. -

On another note, where is the free agent rush anywhere?
In my mind, they've been aggressive. They negotiated with Williams, Bradshaw and Bush. They're negotiating for/with Orton. And those are the ones we know about.
Again, the top two RBs and the top QB available, we've chased. -

Honestly, we need to relax. Multiple reports have detailed that our FO has been deadly serious about keeping stuff quiet about what they are up too. I am surprised the bush thing even caught wind before it was official. We still need to wait on cut players from other teams, we still need to sign OUR rookies, we still need to wait until its really OFFICIALLY free agent signing period (tomorrow at 6)
Lets calmmmmm dooowwwnnnnn brrrooooo -
But seriously, they probably can't make me happy. I am so OVER them at this point.NaboCane likes this. -
Could be worse bro.
They could have sent a #2, Dominique Rogers-Cromartie and $30+ million guaranteed to Philly for an ill fit into their offense. ;)GridIronKing34, finyank13, ssmiami and 1 other person like this. -

I agree it is early. But, I also agree that it is the case that the Dolphins, with the present nearly lame-duck regime, are viewed as toxic waste dump by many players.
If you are Reggie Bush are you really going to sing a "reasonable-not-break-the-bank" deal to come here? No way. It better be big bucks. And, it may need to include Orton. Same with Orton. Does he really want to come to Brian Daboll - to an offense that celebrates FG's like they were playoff wins?
Loyalties aside, the answer is, "No thank you."
The Dolphins will have to sacrifice and gamble to get both those players to come here - and even though fans will be critical of both should they miraculously occur - it is critical for Miami to strike with some of these guys.
"We could have some deals in place with some other free agents that just haven't been announced yet" - this is true. But when has this ever been true of this regime? Occasionally I suppose they surprise. But, honestly, I think it's a tough road and going to be a few more rough years. JMHO. Hope I'm wrong.Aquafin and DolfanJake like this. -

They have been actively going after the big names they have targeted.
For the rest, it's a buyer's market. Why would they rush to overpay when they can probably hang back a bit and get a few solid players at less cost? -
CK also pointed out a few days ago, that with McDaniels and Daboll coming from very similar backgrounds, their offenses are very similar, and Orton would have a leg up on any other QB we could get for this very reason. -

maybe you can start a thread just like this one in a couple of weeks and eat the crow you fully deserve

There is almost nothing we could do this off season to move ahead of the Jets or Pats. So while Reggie Bush is a nice player and Orton is an upgrade over Henne (how big of one is debatable) neither move is going to make much difference to the bottom line, which is wins.
In short, I see almost no scenario in which this regime is back, fully intact, next year. Ireland may survive as Ross seems to have a soft spot for him, but another 7-9, 8-8 or even 9-7 with no playoffs is not likely to cut it for Tony.DolfanJake likes this. -

And I am NOT a hater. That is such a stupid and demeaning "modern" term. I do not hate the Dolphins I love them. Just because I fail to believe what this FO does, has not, nor will it ever diminish my love for the Dolphins. I would not spend time on this forum if I didn't care. Don't some of you folks get that ??????????? People are allowed to disagree or this would become a really BORING board. -
Seems to me the cream of the crop is gone. -

You should probably you know, considered if you were actually correct beforeyour big triumphant "I was right" post.
This last week has been like an entire offseason of awful posts have just come flooded loose. -

Or, Nick Barnett and plug him in next to Dansby and leave Misi at Sam
And/or Justin Blalock to play LG. A durable and solid OG who's missed only 2 games in 8 yrs of college and pro combined.
There are surely others, just those off the top of my head. -

Now lets trade a 5th for Steve Smith to the Panthers. :shifty:
-
What exactly did we give up for Bush ? That needs to be made public soon, if its a 4th or 5th, not the worst deal, but if its a 3rd or better, its a horrible deal for a guy we may have only 1 or 2 years. -
