if we are competiting in september ill be happy....with a new stadium in place....we would need to ADD to our team, not dismantle it this offseason, build off a good year, get josh johnson back....and get rolling into next season!!!
Nice game. Miller looked bad, but better. He was able to settle down and get out of innings when runners got on base, and while he was wild he still found the zone when he needed to. That said I think he gets three more starts, if he doesn't show any more progression I think you have to send him back down to the minors for a while. Anyway I said before the season (on FH) that we might surprise some people this year, maybe hang around .500 for the season. Hopefully even I didn't give us enough credit, let's keep rolling.
it just seems every pitch that is hit from miller.....is hit HARD.....everytime...luckily they are right at somebody....but he is always gettin rocked! He needs ot hit the corners, and mix up his speeds!
I think in the long term we made the right choice. Of the three I think the only one better long term is Santana, and he would have taken too much money. Miller just needs to find a groove and learn what it takes to be a big leaguer. EDIT: Did I accidently try and delete this? lol
i think if you could have predicted santana was gunna be this good...you should be a scout for the pros
Well, he did win 16 games 2 years ago. And even had a winning record his rookie year. He blew up last year but he's always had really good stuff. I'm kind of glad the trade didnt go through, though I'd obviously love Cabrera. Kendrick is a stud, Mathis has been great so far, and the pitching depth we have is important. If we could have worked something out without the Angels giving up Kendrick I would have been even more excited about the possibilities. It's still early in the season though, plenty of time for Santana and the other's to fall off and Miller and the others to turn it around. knock on wood.
Honestly I love T Hut. I can't watch most other teams play because their announcers are so horrible. Tommy always makes the game fun, which is what it should be about.
What bothers me beyond his homerism which is natural his baseball logic is so flawed at times. Like tonight when he said it was dumb for Diaz to bunt with 2 outs??? Why because hes the 7th place hitter? Don Sutton was the same way for the Braves, I couldnt stand it.
Hutton isn't the smartest baseball guy ever, but at the same time he isn't half as bad as having a guy with a really bland voice like most teams do. He is a homer, which could make listening hard for opposing fans I admit.
I cant really knock him for being a homer, all home teams announcers do that I suppose. I think Rich Waltz is annoying at times because he knows less than Tommy and agrees with EVERYTHING Hutton says.
Waltz I can agree gets on my nerves at times. Tommy really does know a lot about baseball, being a former player and all, but like I said he isn't the smartest baseball guy ever. Which is why I guess he isn't a coach. his voice has character though.
PLEASE STOP PLAYING CODY ROSS........... cameron maybin can strike out in the 9th innings with someone on base also. Lets just bring him up....cody ross makes me wanna punch a baby
won the series IN miliwuakee!!! Good stuff. All close games too. We can compete if we keep this fire all year!!!
We were great on the road last year. It's home games where we struggled. IMO, the team feeds off a big crowd, gets excited, gets into what they're doing. They can't do that at home, or at least couldn't do it last year. I'm hoping a year of maturity will change that.
Well we got swept by LA (two of the games we could have/should have won but things happen) and then took game one from the Pads. Let's start our own sweep.
As did Hermida. I don't like Hanley third in the lineup. Yes he has power, but his high on base percentage really sets the tone for everyone else. My dream lineup with our current roster would be: Hanley Hermida Willingham Jacobs Uggla Cantu Rabello Amezaga (Need a guy who can get on base out of the 8 spot, if nothing else it gets the pitcher out of the way for the next inning)
