im glad our record is preserved. i dotn care about the jets. they are weak and will get embarrassed, should they make the play-offs. but they probably wont anyway. 72 Phins, greatest team of all time...and the most perfect of all records stands alone and preserved.

theyre acting like they won the afc championship game. its laughable. color me shocked if the bengals play them hard, and the jets find a way to win.

they're no place, going no where. and they wont be any better next year either.

idk who on the colts said it but he was right. He basicly said every year the 72 Dolphins are mention in the NFL. They will always be remembered. Colts win the superbowl, they will not be remembered 20 years from now... No one will say, remember that 09 Colts? 20 years from now people will still be talking about the 72 phins! Colts go 19-0 then fans of the NFL will never forget the 09 Colts... You have a good chance to go 19-0 you take it. Colts had that chance. Yeah you dont want Manning getting hurt, but their Oline gave Manning all the time in the world to throw. Manning has been sacked what? 10 times all season. Also you want to stay competitive going into the playoffs. Colts will have 3 weeks off if you think about it, this week, next week and the first week of the playoffs, thats 3 weeks of uncompetitive football...

Yup, that is why you never, ever, ever, ever sacrifice the chance for PERFECTION over a speculative RISK of injury. That is so so so STUPID to do.

'72 Dolphins know it and are grateful these modern Football teams dont understand the basic principle of UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONSHIP PERFECTION!

I never will ever root or expect this FRANCHISE to sit players if the chance is alive and well and in front of them to go 19-0. I will shout from the highest point "NO"! if they even think it in the future.

No one will remember the 2009 Colts at all especially since the Chargers are going to beat them. A champion of all time is a majestic title. 1972 lives on.

Which opens a whole other can of worms in the fact :

Should teams be allowed to determine who they play in the playoffs by throwing games. Is it any different then fixing the outcome of a basketball or baseball game?

The colts have created the Colts vrs Jets game..........a weaker game then had they played out. This has the potential to be a problem

1st, yes, the COLTS are stupid for not playing everyone possible to try to achieve UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONSHIP.....but that said, how exactly did the COLTS who get a bye week, create a match up vs. JETS who if they win in week #17, would still have to play a WC match up in first round???

The injury excuse is so effing lame. Manning has started almost 200 consecutive games and has only been sacked 10 times this year. Do the math, odds are pretty good he won't get hurt.

As for resting starters, anyone remember last time they did that under Herm Edwards? Got beat in the first round. When the Colts won the superbowl they were fighting to make the playoffs till the last week, stayed focused and on a roll, and won it all.

Football is timing. You can't duplicate gameday with practice.

The Colts threw that game. Problem is, so will the Bengals next week.

Than again, the Jets will back their way into the playoffs, Fatass will become all cocky again, and we can watch a team like San Diego ANNIHILATE them. :D

    That wasn't manning.

That was the backup crappy QB.

"Rigged" and "thrown" are two terms that do not apply to what occurred yesterday. That's just hyperbole.

Indy rested their most valuable players. Nowhere in the rulebook does it say you have to do everything you can to win on a specific Sunday. Were the Lions "rigging" the entire season when they started Matthew Stafford over Daunte Culpepper? Daunte is better than Stafford. They'd win more games with Daunte, but they wanted to do what was best for the team long-term: to get Stafford some experience. Teams play younger players all the time when a trusty veteran would perform better. Why do they do that? For the long-term interest of the team!

I'm not saying the Colts did the right thing, but this overly-dramatic response is silly.

MIami vs. Jets this year....Miami 2, Jets 0.

    Shaddap.
No, it's not overly dramatic. You want to ask the teams who won legit games this weekend and whose playoff chances needed a Jet loss if they thought it was overly dramatic?

You want to ask the father who brought his three kids to see the game and between tickets, parking and food spent close to $400 to watch his team roll over if it was overly dramatic?
    Oooh...the "Phags". How original.

Like I said, knuckledragger...love how the cockiness has returned. Can't wait to see your team blown out in the playoffs. :D

Caldwell obviously made the decision prior to the game ever starting...

Peyton had almost a full 3 quarters to put this game away...

The Jets hung in their and Caldwell pulled the trigger on resting his players...

As Ricky, Joey and Jason go golfing in January, you will all tune in to see the Jets, praying to whatever God you love, that they lose...

    Great season :hi5:

And yeah I would be alright with it, I sure wouldn't be on an opponents board showing off a gimme game though thats for sure. Again spin bro. spin. Tell yourself the jets deserve it because they kept up with the colts for 3 whole quarters and the part of the second team. Spin!

Now boys and girls, we come to out next exhibit....the New York Jets Fan.

Be careful not to get to close too the cage. This is the only creature on earth who gets cocky despite never having won anything in the last 40 years. They're a rare sighting in the playoffs, and when they do get there they roar and snarl menacingly even though you can count their playoff wins the last 10 years on one hand and have a few fingers left.

Their natural diet consists of crow, which they end up eating healthy portions of every year. However, they still posture like a beast 3 times their size. The leader of this particular animal's pack is normally loud-mouthed and overconfident, despite having never achieved anything except taking over a proven system and managing it like those before him have. He bellows when things look promising for the pack, yet turns meek and almost humble when they're embarrassed...only to start growling once again when things look good once more.

The most common behavior of this animal is it's camouflage. When the losses pile up, it vanishes completely. Trying to find one on the streets of NY is nearly impossible...but let the pack win once or twice and they re-emerge like the phoenix, bright green plumage splayed for all to see, shrieking cry for all to hear.

Fortunately for most, it goes back into hiding shortly after January, when it becomes irrelevant for yet another year.

The Colts have to do whats best for the Colts. I have no problem with what they did. As far as the father talking his kids to the game and spending $400, that's the risk you have to take. The ticket says Colts vs. Jets, not Payton will play the whole game.

Oh how awesome would it be that you lose to the Bengals next week? Ever see "Liar Liar"? The scene in the boardroom after Jim Carrey freaks out on everyone? The way he laughs right in the woman he banged's face?
