“This whole offseason I’m probably going to be working out with him the whole time trying to learn as much as I can from him,” Vernon said. “Anything to help me get better I’m going to do. I know he has a whole lot to offer and he’s a really good teacher, so whatever I can grab and any kind of knowledge I can get from him, I’m going to be annoying to him and I’m going to be bugging him the whole time.”

“From the first day he stepped on the field he’s been making plays and doing great things,” said Wake, who made it to his second Pro Bowl in three years after notching a career-high 15 sacks. “I’ve seen things that he’s done, running around chasing Tannehill and going against Jake Longin practice and I have no doubt in my mind that he can get it done.”

Workout with Wake all offseason.....yes please, hopefully some fat asses like Jerry and Paul can get with the kracken program.

I am so disappointed that we believe we have the answer at rush end in Olivier Vernon. That's gonna cost us passing up the best DE crop in a decade.

He looks to have the makeup, the body, the will to work, the hustle, the youth, can the athleticism transform itself is the question?

I'm gonna study his *** in camp real hard, not literally of course, well you know what I mean, I'm gonna look for that upper body flexibility, the ankle flexion, that first step, how low can you go type sh&$.

An offseason working out with wake, with his natural brute strength, could be explosive in itself Pod, literally he may be able to move people out of the way, his body and strength potential for his age is off the charts..

He already plays the run similarly to wake, uses one arm to stick the tackle on a lot of occasions, I love that sh&$

This reminds me about Wake talking up Porter.
Then Joey turned Cam into his enemy. I doubt that happens again.
Vernon disappeared last season late. Bigger motor than Odrick though.

He does have the rubber ankles but not at wake's level, he's powerful it's more he just does not know what to do afterwards

Sort of like a teen kissing the girl in the back of the car at the prom..when..uhm..she brought condoms...

    INOW, have to finish

Ah to be young again?
He runs well. Has a great motor. I'm thinking his development is very important and the Dolphins know it.

It's the takeoff, Wake had a unique one when he came to the league from the CFL, he looked like a 50 yd sprinter

That sort of first step explosion is what he did not show, however, Wake had to be taught how to do it as well.

I think from a CFLer by the name of Brent Johnson or maybe James "Quick" Parker

As for being young again..ahh..those were the dayz..

well if you see that he doesn't know what to do, maybe he has that ceiling to transform his athleticism, that's always an interesting topic for me, how much of an athletic foundation does he have, are we talking about a basketball player who's explosive offensively then in return becomes a great defender, using it to mimick the opponent..that's what I really want to differentiate, does he have the athletic foundation to mimick what wake is gonna teach him

Think about it now. All Wake has to do is teach Vernon to drop his should under the block as a 4-3 DE right.
Cameron gets under that better than anyone in the league we know. Tall order.
Not like he has to pick his hand up off the ground and play in 3-4. Like Matt Roth did.

All about the first step WI, for example as good as Wake is, his first step makes him

If OV can come close to it, he can be a better rusher than Wake from a technical standpoint, meaning Wake rarely uses things like spins or swims or arm overs, but without that first step you stay glued to blocks

Hopefully, if folks remember Kraken's claim to fame at PSU was blocking kicks, showing his explosiveness

Baby squid did that last yr, which hints at he also has some explosiveness.

And Deej, is right, baby squid is really physically underdeveloped:

Another thing that sticks in my mind is his teammates were laughing at him last yr when he "injured" an ankle then returned in the second half

No Pod, maybe I wasn't clear, he has muscle development, it looks very mature, its just that his genetics and frame have the potential to be kraken esque, which means he has the potential to have a top 5 NFL body...Wake already has the best body in the league..
Verns body is just naturally freakish.

Nah, his thighs are not really developed and his arms look like toothpicks to me.

I don't know if he could go on Wake's program, hours of workouts, strict diet control. So much so Derrick Shelby tweeted Wake to "eat a cheeseburger already!"

No sir, Joey had some popcorn qualities, small frame with a lot of muscle, this kids frame and joints are much bigger, the width of his shoulders and hips are there..he's an impressive physical specimen with a very hi ceiling body wise.

Our Kraken has the long arms, you'll watch Cam turn the corner, almost hit the ground, then he shoots out an arm and trips the Qb up for a sack.

That is why I called him the Kraken
