NBC and Bryan Fuller to Reboot 'The Munsters' Haven't they learned? This has been attempted before, and failed miserably. You might be able to replace Eddie and Marilyn, but the core of Grandpa, Lilly and Herman can't be substituted. This is doomed before it even starts.
Yeah, they're doing that with a few tv shows, like they've been doing with movies in the past. There's that new 'Hawaii Five-0', and they're coming up with a remake of 'Dallas' as well. And remaking shows like 'The Munsters' are a complete waste of time. As you say, doomed before it even starts.
I was with you, until I saw that it was Brian Fuller. Guy is a TV genius, unfortunately for him, the audience rarely recognizes it. His Pushing Daisies was great and Heroes certainly felt it when he left. So yeah, the show will fail, but it should be pretty good.
Doesn't mean the younger crowd won't enjoy the new folks who play those characters. It's a sad TV world we live in now. It's different than it was even 10 years ago. If you have any sacred shows you liked growing up, be prepared to see them be remade in the opposite way they were made back in the day.
I don't think there will be an audience for this type of show nowadays. People now just want reality type shows.
Bro...it's been attempted, more than once. Remember "The Munsters Today"? "The Munster's Scary Little Christmas"? or the ATROCIOUS "Here Come The Munsters"? All failed horrendously. No one wants a remake of this show.
if rob zombie were in control of set, special effects and make-up i would give it a shot atleast but unfortunately we would have to sit through sharon(sp)moon's attempt at marilynn.
I'd probably rather watch the remake vs Jersey Shore, or The Real Housewives of D.C., or Outsourced, etc... TV is BAD
