Okay who do you want on your team? Who should the Bulls take?

Okay being a T-Wolf fan we need that big man to take pressure off Big Al. at 3 we take Brook Lopez. We don't need him do alot but Minnesota is in dire need of a Center. I wouldn't mind Jerryd Bayless either. but he falls under is he a Point or SG? We already drafted that guy and his name is Randy Foye.

So who do you want for your team?

Well, sadly I'm a Knicks fan and we were shafted with the 6th overall pick. I fear D'Antoni might take the Italian player since he did coach in the Italian league for some years (please god this does NOT happen).

I have to admit, I watch College Basketball but don't pay attention to many individual players. Anyone here have some good information on the PG from Arizona and Russell Westbrook from UCLA? Those are two guys I'd like to see the Knicks target at 6. We badly need a PG after "Starbury" and his $20+ million a year contract leaves after next season.

According to many GM's, they believe he will be a star in this league. He is a very smart player that can do it all. He has great defense. One note is that D'Antoni played with the kids father for eight years so that will likely also factor in since he is familiar with the family.

I am not a fan of any team in particular but I do like to keep up with the Suns. They are one of the ones I like the most but it seems that they trade away their pick every year : /.

Never have been a big fan of bringing over foreigners. Too many bad memories of 1999 and the ghost of Frederic Weis. :tantrum:

    Welcome fellow knick fan :hi5:

I actually do like the italian kid. Danillo has a nice jumper and I think very well could be a star. Dantoni actually played with the kid's dad like 20 years ago. The euro's do place a nice emphasis on fundamentals and shooting, two of the many things our knicks definitely lack.

Bayless is a quick guard and I think falls under the more PG then SG category but if we go PG at 6 I think Bayless will be gone also so we'll probably be looking at DJ Augustin (think TJ ford with a better J).

Ooo. Some turn out good though (i.e. Nowitzki, Stojakovic and Petrovic). Last I heard, he was compared to Dirk. Another guy to look out for is a PG from Europe with the last name Rubio. The kid is a clone of Steve Nash.

It's probably Derrick Rose or bust for my Heat. Beasley is a stud, but Udonis Haslem is underrated by pretty much everyone. While Haslem is probably more suited to coming off the bench as the energy guy/6th man, replacing J-Will with Derrick Rose is a bigger upgrade than replacing Haslem with Beasley.

Rose/Banks at PG is fine by me. Trade Shawn Marion's expiring contract in exchange for a starting-caliber C and SF, and suddenly the Heat don't suck anymore.

I just think with the background he has that D'Antonio will take Danillo. If he does, will he come over right away? Thats the biggest thing with me. I want him here and playing in October if the Knicks draft him.

I am not really sure. He is only 19 so he may stay over there for a couple (2) years.

my guess is that he'd come over right away. Being drafted that highly they usually do. At that point theres usually some kind of buyout agreement reached. We just need to go BPA and if hes BPA then you pull the trigger imo.

I know what you mean but he is only 19. Basically a high schooler, is he ready for the top level yet? He likely will need to bulk up from what I have been told. He may come over and end up sitting for two years. If that is the case, I think he would be better off playing in Italy for those two years and developing his game more as well as his stature.

I believe your talking about Danillo correct? If so, yeah thats what I also heard. At the beginning of this CBall season, there was talk that Danillo would be the top pick than Beasley and followed by Rose but that has changed as we see now lol.

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on Kosta Kufous of OSU? How do you feel about his future in the NBA? The last mock draft I saw on SI.com had him going at 11.

Pure Scorer and role player, would be a nice fit for the Cavs. Other than that he has alot to improve, mainly his man to man defense.

Not sure if I asked you this before and if I did, I apologize but who do you believe would be the best fit?

    SI's take on it:

It has been said that it is too high to take Augustin.

I think the first wild card in this draft will be the 5th pick.

    1. Chicago - Derrick Rose
    2. Miami - Michael Beasley
    3. Minnesota - Brook Lopez
    4. Seattle - Jerryd Bayless

With #5, there are quite a few directions for Memphis to go with. The favorite should be O.J. Mayo who happens to be my personal third ranked prospect, but we'll see.

That's the same I heard. They are apparently drooling over the combination of Gay and Mayo. They would play Mayo at the two from what I heard. I can't seem to remember the damn link though.

    G - Mike Conley
    G - O.J. Mayo
    F - Rudy Gay

    Pretty solid perimeter.

I think they need a PG/SG. Kaman/Brand/Thornton need someone to get them the ball imo and the Clippers cant count on Livingston coming back strong this year. A shooter would also help because Mobley isnt getting any younger. I dont know college basketball that well so exactly who's the best value where needs to be answer by someone with more knowledge. I just know I've liked what I've seen from Augustine so he's a player I could root for pretty easily. And SI has him going 9th so it doesnt seem like that big of a stretch at 7 if Mayo is gone.

The Knicks need people to come in and play now, not a two year project. If he's drafted, he needs to come over and start playing now.

I agree if Conley can stay healthy.

True, thanks . Yeah I am a fan of Augustin games too. Hes a good scorer.

We'll have to see what they do. I think its a very good chance they DO select Danillo. I think he might stay after reconsidering my earlier comments because he could thrive pretty well in D'Antoni's system.

So wait, Beasley is 19 how can you not say the same thing about him? Fact is Danillo is a jump shooter, bulking up isnt going to help him much except on defense. It could adversely affect his shot though. He would be better served being here with his coaches regardless. The fact that Dantoni would be here and fluent in Italian would probably help make the adjustment easier and in fact could have been a reason he was hired in the first place if the knicks scouts and management actually feels that strongly about the kid.

We're not gonna be good for at least 2 year anyway so whats the difference? As long as the fat boys (Curry and Randolph) and Marbury are here we're destined to suck so really, you have to ask yourself if the reason you wouldnt rather have him in Europe is to keep him away from the cancers in this locker room. Cause thats the only legit reason i can come up with to keep a kid that talented off US soil.

Further if you read the mock posted a page back it says the same thing ive read in other places as well; that Galinari is actually more talented then Bargnani who was a #1 overall pick himself. Fact is if he'd have had the kind of resume that included American college basketball he'd be discussed with Beasley and Rose. But Im glad hes not being talked about that way and I do hope he falls to the Knicks at 6

Galinari is damn-near ideal for the Knicks, considering what D'Antoni wants to do, and I'd be very surprised if they pass on him.

Chad Ford's ESPN mock has the Pistons taking Chris Douglas-Roberts, which would be absolutely awesome.
Draftexpress has the Pistons taking JJ Hickson, which I'm not as sold on. They're already jammed up with the big men in the frontcourt, with the ultra-talented Amir Johnson unable to get playing time.
SI has them taking Ty Lawson, which I could certainly live with.

In an ideal world, I'd like the Pistons to get Chase Budinger. I don't think they will, but stranger things have happened.

Well, they said that Koufos' game most resembles Ilgauskas, so yeah, that makes some sense.

Personally, I think the Cavs should look for a more mobile big man. Seems like Big Z is often in the way when LeBron drives to the hole. To that end, Koufos may not be a great choice, though I'm sure they'll look long and hard at taking him.
