Jim Turner current/former O-Line coach from Texas Tech. Also held the same position under Mike Sherman at Texas A&M. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/post/17079332
Some good stuff from this article. http://www.texastech.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/122111aaa.html And here is a good short vid about him.
Long and Pouncey fit. RI, Carey and Columbo don't. You probably need one of the Gs to be real mobile and pair him with Pouncey.
I got a chuckle out of the end of the video where he is on the ground, watching how far the OL lifts their feet. He says its GOT TO BE 2 INCHES. Then when a guy does the drill, he yells at him, saying....that was 2 and a qtr inches, get back there and do it again. Funny
Watching video of him, he's like the Boston version of Tony Sparano. That's not necessarily a bad thing for an OL Coach.
Dallas East is slowly becoming a satellite campus of Texas A&M. Mike Sherman, Jim Turner and Zac Taylor were there last year. Dan Campbell played his college ball there. Tom Rossley has spent many years with Sherman and might be on the radar. And we obviously have our eyes on Ryan Tannehill.
I don't agree about Richie. This past season I saw him doing a lot of short inside pulls and reaching the 2nd level and looking fairly agile doing so. Unless you'd ask him to do a lot of long pulls, such as the old power sweep like the Pack ran with Kramer and Thurston, I don't think you have to worry about replacing Richie.
The fiery ex Marine persona made me think of Bobb McKittrick. If he could only be that good a coach for us, since Bobb was an all time great OL coach.
Patience. Think of this in the aspect of a military operation. First you assign a commander of forces (head coach) The commander of forces selects his staff (coaching staff) Then the plan of attack is developed (our team's overall football philosophy) THEN the unit is selected that will carry out the mission (the individual football players) Some of you guys are so impatient that your putting the cart before the horse. I'm just curious...what are some of you going to say/think/do if Philbin desides Moore is indeed our quarterback and able to execute his offensive scheme??? It'll will be interesting to read those posts should that come to pass
Vernon Carey is MOST DEFINATELY not going to be in Miami in 2012. Thank You Lord. Best thing for this team is to let Carey go where he feels like it. Pouncey would benefit from no Vernon either. Bad influence on the youngin. If this guy can't wake John Jerry up either then he also gets his ticket punched.
I reaaaaaly love this guy, the more stuff I read and watch the more excited Iam getting, let me tell ya something, Jake Long is gonna love his style of coaching, hes truly a bad mother grabber.
