All things considered it was a pretty generous ranking. They ranked us higher than any other team with a sub 500 record and higher than some with a 4-4.
That pretty much sums us up. Consider that we are only 1.5 seasons removed from 1-15. To be "one play away" from the elite teams in the league in that short a period of time is quite an achievement. Playing such a brutal early schedule is a blessing in disguise, as the team has gained experienced and shown marked improvement in many areas while facing off against the best of the best. Though we have as many losses in half as many games, we could still go on a small run starting this week. Regardless, playing a cake schedule wouldn't mean we stood any better chance against the Saints, Colts and Pats of the world in the postseason. It just means we address those needs later in the draft process. Our needs are pronounced and clear as day. And we will address them full steam ahead.
