Orlando almost swept the almighty Cavs last year, without Vince Carter. Personally, I don't know why Vince is even a concern. Dwight is more important. Jameer is more important. Rashard is more important. Even Petrius off the bench may be more important to Orlando's success than Vince. Magic can win against ANYONE without Vince doing much at all. But on nights where Vince is on his game, Magic are untouchable. Seriously though, Orlando's success does not revolve around Vince. Not even close.
You have no idea what you are in for. Vince Carter is the NBA equivalent of a Black Cat. He is BAD LUCK.
Lakers and Gasol can kiss my ***. Absolutely beautiful season by Oklahoma City. They have nothing to be ashamed about. They played their hearts off. They are lucky as hell to have such wonderful fans. It is almost like an NCAA game over there! They can only go up and get better. They will be a team to contend with next year.
Oklahoma had a great series, they should be proud of what they did. Nobody expected them to win a game.
Magic are first to advance, and last to learn who they will face. Magic will be rested (and possibly rusty) heading into this next series. A week off is a lot. With the Cavs/Celtics series starting already, Orlando will only get a few days rest after sweeping Atlanta.
The Magic are taking this next series. Whether Vince is 'bad luck' or not, we've got enough strength on the bench to take care of business. We're the best team in the playoffs right now, I have no doubt. This is the year for the Orlando Magic.
We must have been listening to different people. Everybody I heard or saw predicted OKC to win 2 if not 3 games. Especially with the way LA played down the stretch, and the last time they played in OKC in the regular season.
Yeah, I agree with you there. Being a Laker fan, I was happy as could be that game last night and the series were done. Extremely impressed with how well they played for as young as they are really the first time alot of them were in the playoffs. OKC gets a legitimate center to give them some size inside, they are going to be even more tough. Durant and Westbrook are going to be 1 hell of a 1-2 punch for years to come. May have been the 8 seed, but could see it as being they were the toughest team for the Lakers to play out of all the teams remaining in the West. Gotta love the athleticism OKC has.
You guys shouldn't be too worried, Kobe comes through in a clutch situation 99% of the time. That guy can hit a ball from midcourt with no time left if he has to. I'm hoping my Magic get a chance to play you guys again in the Finals, ya made us look bad last year,
Are you crazy? You actually want to face the Lakers in the Finals? Not only did they beat us last year, but Phil Jackson has won 10 NBA titles, and Kobe has 4. Is it really a good idea to be hoping to face them? I just want a championship. I hope Orlando faces the weakest team possible.
If we can't beat the best team then we're not the best. Only beating the Lakers will make that happen. I hope we play the best team possible so there's no, 'well, you're lucky you didn't play them,' b.s. Bring on the Lakers.
Out of the East teams, Im cheering for Orlando. Not so much because of last year, but I cant stand Cleveland. Think Orlando has the best chance to take them out. Orlando would be alot tougher this time around im afraid though if they both made it to the Finals again. Have Finals experience now, Nelson would be healthy this time around, plus think they are a better overall team this year then last. The Lakers are banged up, and likely to get more banged up, and I dont think they are as "hungry" as last years team was either. Hopefully both teams will get there, and time will tell!
I don't care. I've been a Magic fan for 21 years, and I want a championship. Anyone who tries to discredit the title because they didn't face the Lakers can kiss the rings. Obviously whoever beats the Lakers is better than LA, so whoever we face will be the best.
then why be afraid of facing LA? If you think other teams can beat them why not orlando? **** THE ****ING LAKERS! AND **** THE OCHOA BROTHERS!
San Antonio's strategy for winning: Put the opposing team to sleep by boring them to death. Oh yeah, and the usual Manu Ginobili flop.
pulling for the magic to win since miami is out... might as well be our neighbors to the north, they are a quality team.
Another nice win tonight, 112-98. Vince only had 4 points in the first half, but got it together towards the end. Let's keep it going for the next game in Atlanta Saturday Night
I got nervous in the second quarter and thought this Atlanta team was well focused and came to ball. I was impressed the way Howard kept his composure through the game, free throw shooting and low post presence. Jameer is playing like the #1PG in the league during the playoffs so far imo.
That would be Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo.... yeah...there are so many good PG's that Jameer is rather pedestrian by playoff standards.
Do you think this is a product of talent or the change in rules against hand checking? I don't remember guards ever dominating like this before.
Dragic looks like a Steve Nash lookalike. Even his style of play is similar. He is playing out of this world. It is amazing to have a player like that to give Steve Nash rest. GO SUNS! They are THE darkhorse in this thing. I would LOVE to see Nash get an opportunity to get a championship.
