good players have been traded for less then what the Knicks have stacked up. They have assets. they could have done a better job managing them but most of the important ones are there. I disagree that Amare is un-moveable, thats just your opinion. Fact is he operates best as a C even though he hates playing there. I dont think Tyson is the piece they would look to trade. As I jokingly outlined above, I do believe thats how they would try and structure deals. Do I think that would do it? Probably not. But I know as an NBA fan we have both shaken our head and said "WTF" at deals before.

Traps, help defense...its still a double. Anytime you commit multiple defenders in any fashion to one player thats a double to me. Youre committing multiple players to get a team or a player to make a specific pass, take a specific shot, deny the ball, or get the ball out of said players hands.

I have to say I was stunned that the NYG didnt win. Forgetting that I hate the Heat, no NFL team ever went through the #1-#2, and #3 team in their own conference just to get to the Super Bowl and on top of that they beat NE who was the AFC #1 seed. That means they were also the first team to beat 2 #1 seeds in a single playoff run. I just dont understand how they arrived at that conclusion. To me, regardless of who does that, thats a ridiculously difficult achievement.

If the NFL season just ended the Giants would end up winning this award its timing and having Lebron get his 1st championship. The guy is probably the most recognized current American athlete next to Tiger Woods.

Yeah except you exaggerated the truth. Melo missed 3 games, and Lin was 9-3 as a starter. He helped turn them around but he did not save the season. Only the coaching change did that. Had Woodson coached that team all season they would have been a far better team because he made them play defense.

    - Giants backed into the playoffs
    - Baylor had a man on the team
    - Kentucky had the unibrow and kids that dont go to class
    - Cards got in on the last day of the season
    - Nobody cares about Hockey (I do but most dont)

.... 2 team race between Miami, Bama. Gotta go with LeBron over Saban. Boom.

I think the Heat won because they're a better team than the Giants are. They were pretty lucky to make the playoffs to begin with.

This story is soooooooooo New York Knicks.

Do you guys remember Frederic Weis?

Long story short..he was the guy that Vince Carter jumped over for the best dunk in human history.

He was also drafted 15th overall by the New York Knicks in 1999. They passed up local product Ron Artest to heavy protests at the Meccah/Gahhhden.

    Yesterday...

The New York Knicks finally renounced his rights. Frederic Weis then promptly retired from International basketball.

But you are not. That's the point. If a player catches the ball and there is only one guy in front of him, that is not a double.

They fronted him. That is the act of playing in front of a post recipient and simultaneously pressuring the ball.

A double would be when you don;t pressure the ball, to allow a pass into the post, and you then send another defender to get the recipient to move the ball.

Can't say I'm shocked by this. D12 has been adamant that there is only one place he wants to go. Problem is there is no way for him to get there unless Orlando sends him. If he just wants out of Orlando he needs to broaden his scope. If not I think he needs to at least consider mending some fences in Orlando cause Brooklyn ain't happening.

Orlando could conceivably revisit a deal with the Nets at the deadline when Lopez is eligible to be traded.

Even in a S&T potentially where Lopez will only have 3 years left on his new deal and might be slightly more attractive.

    at SF: 15.3

    PF: 23.3

I get that. I've already said that he doesn't give effort on defense like he should, like a winner does. My response was to him saying that "Melo plays zero defense" which is an exaggeration. You can't play "zero defense"

Melo has active hands, and he understands the game, so he can be effective as a support defender.

His feet are way too slow to be an effective man to man defender.

That's a silly semantic argument. If someone said player X sucks, are you going to argue that is not true because player X isn't out there with a vacuum?

Bad example because the word "suck" could mean inadequate. But call it what you will, the main point is Melo plays more than "zero" defense and when he wants to he can play good defense and rebound, and rebound real well. And thats my issue with him, he concerned with scoring in ISO offense than he is to consistently win and make winning plays like defense and rebound. As his teams best player he just needs to demand more of himself and lead his team by example.

Melo is a good dude and I really want him to play up to his potentially great potential....but we wont get it.

Way to gloss over the crux of the post. I even gave you the benefit of the doubt and elaborated on my answer. I gave you a further explanation. Sorry you're sore that your sucks example was bad but I'm trying to get you to look at the basketball point. Let me know if you want to speak on that because I have no interest in talking semantics....none at all.

Early reports says knee sprain for Griffin. With his history people jump worst case scenario, and its certainly possible, but early on they're saying knee sprain.

True. I feel bad for Roy and think its bizarre he chose to come back. Doctors told him if he plays again he risks not being able to walk again. Personally its not a risk I'd be willing to take. Hope it works out for him.
