Great news. I have always been a huge Rashard Lewis fan. Love the fact that he is on our squad even if he is a shell of himself in his prime.
How could I forget? Scott Raab with his annual (tradition) hateful screed: http://www.esquire.com/blogs/news/r...lick=news&src=spr_TWITTER&spr_id=1456_9832491
This guy is such a clown. The epitome of a loser. He's still this worked up 3 years later? The guy is 50! I can almost understand being upset in the moment and going off the handle but this guy is ridiculous
They eliminate claims that Jordan was dominant offensively while shooting 42% while James was poor offensively while shooting 43%. The only explanation for such a clearly erroneous statement is that people forget all those Jordan misses while the James' misses are still fresh in their minds.
They would scare me if I was counting on him, but if he's taking Juwan Howard's spot I don't see much risk.
This. Where's the danger of giving him a roster spot that is just place holding to give a guy we like a ring every year?
We can just put him on the coaching staff next season... he already wears a suit to every game anyways.
Zo is already the VP of Player Development. Would Juwan be the VP of Talking Loudly and Furniture Rearrangement?
Surreal to be on a Dolphins message board listening to other Heat fans seriously post about the team winning a third and fourth consecutive championship...and have it not sound totally ridiculous. Is this real life? Then I switch back to the Dolphins forum and read through a thread about whether 4-1 odds (in a 4 team division) for the Dolphins winning the AFC East over the Patriots is a good bet, or whether we should bet the over on 7.5 wins...you want to talk about deflation, yikes.
LOL Just wait for the numerous threads about whether a freaking fullback is the missing piece. Heat wins championships, Fins try to sign Vontae Leach. Same thing. (not busting on Leach or Find but the expectations and payoffs just so different)
Speaking of wich, you have been a very active poster for a long time...yet for the most part absent from this thread until about 10 days ago. Heat just now becoming interesting to you??
I know people that can't forgive Jerry Jones for firing Tom Landry, people hold grudges against sports teams till they die sometimes. If I was a Cleveland fan I would hate Lebron without apology or remorse.
Some juicy draft nuggets out there...per rotoworld... Cavs supposedly offered Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters for Kevin Love Clippers and Magic talking Bledsoe for Afflalo and Butler Wolves want Oladipo but know they have to move up from 9. OKC wants to package picks 12, 29 and Perkins to get in the top 5 (that aint happening) Charlotte denying rumors they are shopping Kidd Ghilchrist Clips and Celtics cannot make a player trade this year involving KG as the NBA views it as an extension of the rivers/draft pick trade. Celtics are kicking the tires on a S&T involving Josh Smith and either Pierce or KG
He was free to pick the better option, and seeing how it's played out I can't fault him for leaving. I only take issue with delaying so long to inform the Cavs(as I assume he knew he wasn't going back to Cleveland long before the decision).
http://tracking.si.com/2013/06/22/doc-rivers-rajon-rondo-fight/?xid=ob_sisports Pretty much stating the obvious.
What would the Cavs have done differently? Even if he had said he was thinking of leaving they wouldn't have traded him, they would've done whatever they could to change his mind. As it was they got a bunch of picks out of it. Would you really have been satisfied with a Denver style haul?
I think Lebron was conflicted late into the decision, I also wouldn't be shocked at a return home. Cavs fans didn't wanna hear it then, Heat fan won't either when the time comes. As Lebron said himself..."I don't know..life changes, things happen"
I don't get it, what's so deflating, we have a new coach, were young, maybe the Gm in you doesn't agree with everything, but I don't see why you wouldn't be as excited as any other year??... We have yet to see the players play in our uni ya know, why can't we just forget about personal evaluations sometimes and just give em a chance to succeed..and if they fail, then rip their ***.
LeBron said a couple of years ago that he only made up his mind the day of the decision. Can we stop playing fortune teller now? It was so annoying when this happened before the 2010-11 free agency.
I can see lebron leaving if wade ends up hurt again next year but I wouldn't be mad. He came and did his job just like shaq did wasn't mad when he left either. I would be beyond pissed if wade opted out also and left with him though.
Well thats what would bother me as a Cleveland fan, not that he left but the way he left. This would be like Dan Marino leaving in '85 or '86 and rubbing it in our faces with a made for TV event and another made for TV introduction in whatever city he went to. No Miami fan would be able to let it go, we'd still be talking about it.
Right, no reason to get emotional about your sports team, thats crazy! I mean spending time talking about something, getting emotional about something that isn't real life thats nuts! I mean next thing we'll be on the internet talking about sports stuff that isn't real life. Ridiculous! Crazy!
No offense but there isn't any reason not to make that assumption, there were reports of Lebron having made his mind up a year or two before he left. The exact scenario that unfolded was reports months and months before it happened, everyone knew he was leaving, I'm surprised anyone even questions it at this point.
If they win it all again next year I think there is a 0% chance of him leaving. The chance to do something historic and go for four in a row is something I just can't see him passing up.
Not really. There were several specific reports that James made up his mind the day of the ESPN created decision show. The only speculation to the contrary was based on conversations between the players about possibly, hopefully playing together. Even those reports were about playing together, but not about where. i would guess that Cleveland was where James wanted it to happen. Anybody who has ever paid attention to the NBA has heard of such conversations between players multiple times, almost all amounting to nothing. I think that Cleveland was obviously the most likely destination for James going into FA. There were several reports of James trying to recruit players to join him in Cleveland. That's not what you do if you know you're leaving. It changed when his recruiting efforts failed. Most notably when Bosh told him there was no way Bosh was going to Cleveland. Miami didn't become the destination until Riley sold him on it with his presentation about championships. The only people who cling to the "it was planned all along" narrative are those who ignore the facts and just want to continue to hate James.
