Orlando was a top 5 defensive team when they were living and eventually dropping dead from the three.
Yea, 2 20 point blowouts are meaningless. The Heat are still the favorite but to say "zero chance"??? Just shows your talking out of anger. And gotta love the delusional talk, this team added the right pieces like I said they did, Woodson had a full offseason to de-D'antoni his team....like it or not the Knicks are back, and if you think your team is gonna come into the Mecca and walk all over NY then you sir are the delusional one.
Ask the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, how regular season blowouts of Miami translate to Playoff success. hey...I said I would bet on it. I am sure you read that part. I am pretty sure you read the part where I said that now is as good a time as any other to rob Knick fans. and yes..they will go into the Mecca and walk all over New York....in the 1 game they will need to win to beat them in 5 again.
Wrong. For starters you won't have homecourt advantage. This team has multiple ball handlers and find it easy to get a good look. Last year the ball stopped at Melo, well...he did the one thing this league thought they would never see. He has bought in. Maybe u do beat NY in a 7 game series ...but a walk n the park it will not be
Right. not like they aren't 12-5 while not giving a crap all year. They will put together a spurt, good enough to open daylight and the #1 seed will be a lock.
Dude he had to be, the dude was babbling talking all types of ish..... It is literally like if a writer for the Dolphins started talking massive amount of junk to Pats fans, after one regular season win.....
They cared last night. And they lost by 20 at home vs a team without their best player. They're a good team, but you have a ways to go before they are great.
they won a championship. they are already great. and that was not "caring" last night. Nobody beats the Heat by 20 if they care. get real.
A revenge game at home, 2 best records im the conference coming off an emberessing loss and a team who's fans take over your facility?? If thru didn't care they aren't human. Stop making excuses and take it like a man.
Not really. and I am willing to bet that there are more Heat fans at the Garden than Knicks fans at the AAA.
Three things still worry me about this Knick team: 1. Obviously the biggest one is how Stoudemire fits in. They clearly need a consistent secondary scorer after Melo. I question whether Amare can be that guy on this team. I would feel a lot better swapping him out for Pau Gasol or someone else who is battle tested and playoff proven. 2. Will the Knicks break down? Theyre old. Lets face it. Kidd, Sheed, Thomas, and Camby are all very old. Theyre the oldest team in NBA history. Im not beating my chest 17 games in or whatever. They showed how vulnerable they were when Kidd wasnt playing for those 3-4 games. They were a very different team. All those guys are playing or will play (Camby) key roles later this year. 3. How will Iman Shumpert's return impact the rotation. Kidd is playing about 26 minutes a night which is about right for him. But he's playing a lot of 2 guard which is where Iman plays. JR Smith has played well in his 30 minutes a night. But he also plays the 2/3. Brewer is playing well..but he also plays the 2/3. I suspect Shump will mostly draw from Brewer and Smith's minutes, mainly because hes a better offensive player then Brewer and better defensively then JR, but also because Kidd is frankly too important to pull off the floor because of his playmaking skills. Its a very delicate balance. The win yesterday was nice. And the Heat did play hard. Ira Winderman was interviewing on WFAN yesterday about 330-4ish and was talking about how certain games just dont interest the Heat this year and the Wizards were one. I think hes had a pretty good beat on the team the last few years. He went on to say how they were anxious to play the Knicks yesterday and they were looking forward to it. The Heat looked pretty enthused in the first half. Lebron looked like he was the only one interested in the second half though which if I was a Heat fan would bother me. These Knicks might be as good as the Bulls in 2010 that swiped the 1 seed....difference being that if Amare can fit in and play D they might be able to get past the Heat. If not they will fail just like those Bulls in 2010.
Sadly its probably close. The big difference is though that I think with all the New Yorkers moving to Florida there are a lot more Knick fans that have always been Knicks fans in the AAA there are Heat fans that have always been Heat fans in MSG. I know a lot of people here that arent even Heat fans theyre just "Lebron fans". Dont ask me how someone can be a fan of just 1 player but I have heard quite a few people say it. I guess that means if Lebron went to the Wizards they'd be Wizards fans. To me that just means fair weather fans. Not like you and many of the Heat fans in this thread that have ALWAYS been Heat fans....theyre just interested in one player specifically which to me is garbage.
I think yesterday was a combination of things. The Knicks were on fire, the Heat were slow on a lot of rotations and had some missed assignments, and Bosh and Wade were combined 4-22. Battier shouldn't have been in the game. He was clearly still hobbled. Hopefully Ray Allen is just in a minor funk. Hasn't looked good last couple games.
I'm admittedly not a big NBA fan, unless it's the playoffs. But I find it disturbing that Heat fans not only acknowledge there are games where the team doesn't care, but support it. That's kind of embarrassing.
What happened yesterday was the Heat had some injuries they were dealing with (Chalmers (finger), Cole (shoulder), Allen (ankle), Wade (body) , Haslem (Shoulder), Battier (knee) and then apathy set in when Melo was out. Injured teams during the regular season are more susceptible to quitting when facing adversity. Hello 3rd quarter, when the Knicks were punting the ball into the hoop from half court. The REAL breakdown was in the first half when the game was tied. They actually blew more assignments in the first half than they did in the 3rd quarter. The 3rd quarter is what was flukish about that game. The Knicks had 7 UN-assisted Threes. The average number in an NBA game is 1. That suggests softish on the ball defense. That game was actually lost in the first half, when the Heat, yet again, let down. The 3rd quarter was just the hoop opening up from some open shooting in the 1st half. it happens all the time in the NBA.
Please name the Eastern Conference teams that pose a legitimate challenge to the Heat. The crickets you hear are exactly why the Heat don't care about the regular season. But let's be honest, the other 29 teams in the NBA don't care either. You can blame Shaq for this.
Because he installed that philosophy with the three-peat Lakers, then brought it to Miami and infected Wade with it. Wade has now infected this group. It;s a viral strain that can be traced back to the Big Aristotle.
To be clear, I wasn't trying to single out the Heat. I know this happens all over the league, but it's still something I would hate to see.
0-2 against Ny with 2ass kickings. Like 13-3 vs everyone else. Guess the Heat only stop caring vs NY. Valid excuse. Lololol
they didn't care against most of those teams either. They played with intensity on opening night and the second half of the BK game, because they got in LBJ's and Wade's face. the rest..it has been lackluster.
Ask 2010 Bulls how that worked out for them. Swept the regular season, won the first game of the playoff series by 20. HEAT go on to win 4 straight. I am not a betting man, at all. However I will take up any Knick fans if they want to put money down on a straight up bet. ...No? Well shut the **** up then.
The obvious anger you all are sporting, lets me know those *** kickings hurt. I wasn't bragging nor laughing in any of your faces. But to the people who claim you lost because you didn't care? Be prepared to be laughed at. Where's the real men who just say something like...Heat are playing bad and need to get their stuff together before the playoffs. You guys just don't have it in ya do you? Sad, but humerous.
I compared you to a sports talk radio co-host. If anything, it was flattery, considering the popularity of the show.
Not angry. Annoyed. Not so much at you, because I didn't really expect you to act any differently, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Trolls gonna troll. You don't get it. We (and I will speak for the HEAT fans on this board) are not concerned. That's the thing. In 2010 I was concerned when we had no center and ****ty PG play. It is not bragging when we say that we are NOT concerned. Defending champs, we started 12-5 last year as well and 9-8 year before. Both years turned out okay. So if you expect a "Well man, this sucks they gotta get their **** together" you won't man, not because were not "man enough" but because it is not an issue. Do they have to get better on D? Not really. Defense is there when they need it and they decide to play for real. They did that in the 2nd half of the Brooklyn game and they did that at the end of the first game of the season. Why? Because those games mattereted TO THEM. You can bring up the *** kicking they gave Miami first week of the season all you want, but you seem to forget that it's vs a team who they beat 7 out of 8 times they played last year so clearly, those games matter to NY more than Miami. So no, there are no reason for concern, at all. They showed it last year, and they will showt this year again.
You must have missed last playoffs??? Heat fans aren't going to be concerned with how they play in the preseason.
Only Heat fans would chastise a guy who despite 2 royal *** kickings has not once said the Knicks are better than the Heat...but merely mocked those who pretend the Knicks have "zero" chance in the playoffs or claim the Heat only lost because they didnt care. Yes, I'm an unreasonable troll...and you guys are basketball gurus.
