It's definitely a rough road. A good owner and smart FO can turn it around quickly though, so fingers crossed.

I do believe Loria will sell within 5 years. He's too ****ing greedy not to.

I now think Loria is so stubborn and eager to flip people the double middle finger that he will hang on to the team for as long as he can.

It's certainly possible but much less profitable.

Ask the Yankees how profitable it is for Loria.

The Palm Beach Post. Since 1921, Fernandez is one of four pitchers to allow no more than five hits and one run, while striking out 13 batters in their first two career starts, according to STATS Inc.

Fernandez joins Sandy Koufax (1955), Juan Marichal (1960) and Kaz Ishii (2002).

Yeah. Sorry I come across as confrontational sometimes. I love this team as much as you do. This is just embarassing and painfl to watch.

    Franchise record for losses?

The funny thing about that picture is you know Stanton will still end the year with 30+ home runs if he stays healthy.

My spreadsheets agree, a .200 BA is bad. However watching him play tells me he can really hit for power. Oh now I'm torn. I'm going to ask my calculator who's right....

I would check stubhub, but not more that 2 or 3 days before you want to go. There are always plenty of tickets there.

How the poor performance of the Blue Jays, specificially Johnson and Buerhle and the injury to Reyes changed the views of Marlin fans of "the trade" during the offseason or is there still a lot of anger about it?

As an outsider I would think fans might be slowly starting to feel like the deal was probably the best thing for the franchise however there is still probably a lot of hate and distrust for the current ownership group.

I said after the trade happened that there were very real and legitimate baseball reasons to trade these guys.

My problem wasn't trading them, although I'd have liked to get D'Arnaud back. My problem was that we're not reinvesting any of the money saved by trading them. And I'm not talking about going to sign Grienke, or something. I'm talking a little here and there so we don't have guys like Donavan Solano and Juan Pierre starting on this team, and then extending Stanton.

Big win tonight for the Marlins. 1st career win for José Fernandez, 1st MLB HR for Ozuna, and 1st HR for Chris Valaika as a Marlin. Congrats to all 3 men, who deserve it.

Beating Cole Hammels was the topping on the desert !

What a difference a week makes huh? Rizzo jumped 60 points in his BA and now has a stat line of .262/.348/.557/.905 and an OPS+ of 142 with 9 HRs as a 23 year old in 138 plate appearances. Yeah that will do just fine.

On the flip side Adrian Gonzalez currently has a .343/.402/.500/.902 line and an OPS+ of 151 with 3 HRs in 117 plate appearances as a 31 year old. And just for fun Yonder Alonso is hitting .270/.333/.426/.759 with a OPS + of 115 asa 26 year old in 129 plate appearances.

Obviously it's still very early and SSS warning of course.

    Derek Dietrich called up.

.925 OPS against RHP in AA last year. 1.020 OPS against RHP this year.

Cannot hit LHP to save his life.

What is your guys thoughts on this Ozuna kid? I have him in fantasy and hes been hitting the ball well for me. Is his playing time going forward a lock?

Pretty much. Our offense is awful and he's probably our best power hitter outside of Stanton. He should be playing all year.

He's a career ~.800 OPS hitter in the minor leagues with a strikeout problem though, so I imagine he's going to be streaky as ****. Probably more valuable on the actual field than in fantasy.

Well I am in a 20 team league with a LF, CF, RF, OF and Utility option. So the options are slim to say the least. It is extremely deep league with 20 knowledgeable owners. Ozuna is a lock for my OF spot every day at this point. My only other options is Travis Snider, Will Venable, and AJ Pollock(who is going to be sent to the minors very soon), so I need Ozuna to play everyday.

Yeah that's a nice option in that kind of deep league.

Keep an eye out for Christian Yelich too, who's killing AA. Won't be long before he's up.

Aaaaand as I search for him he's already on a team. That's how deep this league is. Everyone in the league has a MiL on the team stashed.
