A quick google search on the guy brought up http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...d-apology-dan-tordjman-yankees_n_1943274.html Hell if your wrong once why not stir the same pot again!
No but he did ping it a few weeks before he actually got suspended no??... Melky got suspend AFTER the ASG last year...
Interesting, I haven't heard any of this. Didn't the same thing happen last year with Cano and it turned out to be bogus?
Mark Teixeira hurt his wrist hitting off a tee, has to drop out of the WBC and will be shut down for 7 to 10 days. He said he heard a pop, and Cashman is worried. Perhaps this won't be the Yankees year they seem to be dropping like flies already.
Yep i am waiting for something to go right. Anything. Gardner is on fire atm which is a decent sign he is gtg i guess i can hang my hat on that while the injuries build up.
this will be the year that Gardy blossoms and everybody else gets hurt and they miss the playoffs.....hahaha
I blame you! ya jinx! Man this is a sinking ship right now. Poor Rivera and Pettitte, who could be their final year...
Worst part of all most of the guys that are hurt (Granderson, Teixeira and Hughes) aren't even the older guys. Still though the Yankees going into ST with only Dan Johnson as back up 1B/3B on the depth chart has to fall on Cashman's feet, he did a poor job bringing in bodies. Especially considering the fact he knew about Arod's hip injury. Now watch Dan F'N Johnson hit .400 for the first month of the season.
Cashman not all to blame. Steinbrenners wanted to get below the luxury tax. This is what happens. On ESPN someone said, Hal told Cashman to get under the cap so he jumped out of a plane
Signing guys on minor league/non guaranteed deals wouldn't do anything for or towards the salary cap. He knew Arod would be out for a while and signed Youkilis who hasn't played a full season in 3 years, without any solid back up depth.
When you are not allowed to add to the salary for the following year the only players you are able to get are the bottom of the barrel types. They made an exception for Ichiro and i see that as a Levine and revenue choice not a baseball one.
I'm not talking about signing a Grienke or Hamilton type player, I'm talking about signing a few players on minor league deals where the contracts aren't guaranteed. Again Cashman knew Arod was hurt and signed Youkilis, a player who hasn't been healthy for 3 seasons. You would think he would have signed another player as a back up just in case. I realize the Yankees are on a budget but a player or two like that wouldn't have broken the bank. It was simply poor planning on his part.
man this is the first year in two decades i dont think we make the playoffs. just seems like its falling apart. think its time to start trading for draft picks
Obviously the Yankees will never have a fire sale this early in the season so let's say in July they are truly out of the race my question is who can the Yankees trade to get any real value back though? I mean they're not trading Brett Gardner and guys that will be free agents at the end of the year (Cano, Granderson, Hughes, Kuroda, Joba, Ichiro, Youkilis etc) aren't going to get them a ton in return at that point in the season due to the team acquiring them not being able to get a pick back. I guess there's always a chance the Dodgers get bored and want to have an All Star bench of Mark Teixiera and Alex Rodriguez but besides that pipe dream the Yankees just have a lot of older players with bad contracts.
dude who ever thought you could trade Crawford, Beckett, Gonzo....trades happen....people have value, it is up to Cashman to find it...
There's also a reason why trades like that rarely happen. Is it impossible? Of course not but it's extremely unlikely to think otherwise.
Interesting article for both Yankee fans and Red Sox fans alike.... http://www.cnbc.com/id/100534728/Watch_Out_Yankees_and_Red_Sox_It039s_a_New_Era_in_Baseball
If yanks are far gone from playoff contention towards the end of the season, they should have Rivera start a game for the yanks
I'll tell you what if Cashman gets Derrek Lee to unretire, the 2013 Yankees would be a hell of a team in 2005 & 2006 between Lee, Youkilis, Ichiro, Hafner, Juan Rivera, etc.
