One back of wc. Awesome. The good thing too is I believe we finish the season with 3 against the astros. We have a very good shot at this

Yankees are 18-1 now. I am kicking myself for not getting them two weeks ago at 40-1

Mo got the win today, but why is that not a save?
Robertson was the active pitcher in the 8th inning when the game was tied. Yankees went up in top 9th, wouldn't he still technically be the winning pitcher still since hes still in the game until they put Rivera in?

Even in the last clip they say Rivera gets his 80th save vs Balt yet they gave him the win!

    Edit:
nm, the official scorer ruling, felt that Mo deserved the Save, not the win. Kinda sucks because Pitchers can't create their own save, but they can create their own win. Yeah Robertson almost cost us the game, but he never lost the lead. Should have gotten the win, and Mo the save. Hope they protest it and get Mo the save.

Obliques are usually a 2 to 3 week injury actually depending on how bad it is.

Got to tip my cap to the Yankees, on winning 3 of 4 after losing 4 out of their last 5. Especially coming back in the past few games. Man, they're such a bi-polar team though.

The major weakness for the next 2 weeks or so is going to be that bridge to Rivera. Robertson looked like crap last night, I wonder if he's fully healthy like he claims. Good thing Rivera is retiring after the year because Girardi is running him into the ground with his usage of him, it's making Joe Torre proud.

Wait Chris Stewart really struck out on only 2 pitches last night?

The first pitch the ump didnt raise his hand or sign a strike....then he looked at strike 2, swung at 3....

So not sure what came of that first pitch, but Stewart immediately walked away so I am thinking it was a call strike...

Gardner being out really hurts, he is done for the year....:pity:

As a side-note, Baltimore gave Mo a plague that looked like it came from Harry's Trophy Shop down the street....they really do hate the Yanks huh?? Hey like I said I dont care what happens this year, as long as they finish before that team....Buck's face was delicious when JJ wild pitched that run it...

Yeah it must have been a strike then, otherwise the ump made a huge screw up along with Stewart, Girardi etc.

Is Gardner officially out for the year or just speculation by you? I wouldn't be surprised though, those types of injuries usually knock guys out for awhile. Stinks too because Gardner has been playing well and his defense and speed will be missed. The Yankees should really wrap Cano in bubble wrap until the end of the year.

They are saying 2-3 weeks for that injury which put that right at the end of September....

I mean maybe he plays the 4/5 WC game if they make it, but he isnt going to be around for the push....I hate those injuries, they are like groin pulls.....nagging you know?

So what was up with Mo getting the win last night instead of the save? They mentioned it on MLB Network, but I didn't see why it happened?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think there is a rule that almost basically says if the team scores on a wild pitch/passed ball....Something other than putting the ball in play, that the pitcher was ineffective or doesn't deserve it almost....It is bizarre...

It's the official scorer's decision on who gets the win. I do admit its weird Robertson didn't get the win since 99.9% of the time the official scorer just gives it to that pitcher.

The ump should be suspended on that one. No excuse how he could let them happen.

Giving Mo the win was a bs call. 4th time in 25 years a ruling like that was made. Should have gotten that save. I bet if he gave up a HR he would have gotten a blown save.

Jeez soriano now is out with a thumb injury. Good news is gardner isn't shelved. He might miss regular season but he probably comes back for playoffs. We are back to having no bats till soriano returns

Assuming things stay the same next week then Yankees pretty much have to sweep the TB series. They're already down 4 in the loss column and 3 games back, taking 2 out of 3 will only give them a 1 game swing so they'll still be 2 games back with 3 to play. So you'll have to bank on sweeping Houston (probably likely) and TB losing 2 out of 3 by the Jays to force a 1 game playoff game. But each team has 7 games between now and then so a lot can happen obviously.

The positive thing for the Yankees, Baltimore, KC and Cleveland is that TB and Texas have the same record and play each other 4 times starting Monday so any win by the teams chasing them helps no matter who wins any of those games in that series.

Should be a fun 14 days though either way.
