I'll be happy if he plays like Butch Wynegar. Or better than say, Russell Martin.

Well this Cano hiring Jay Z's agent firm may not be as good as we thought. Rumor has it he is about to announce his retirement and go play Center for the Brooklyn Nets... At least hes not leaving the New York

I don't think his laziness getting to the hole would be appreciated.

you notice EVERY SINGLE TIME some player gets their first career base hit, the announcers always say "The locker room will probably give him a scruff up ball with writing on it and have his real ball some where else to play a joke on him"? EVERY single time.

Also, I miss Michael Kay. First year in a while i wont be able to get MLB tv

Also I am sick of this Sky is falling ****. I mean Kuroda injury sucks and hope he is okay, but if we lose this game we are 0-2 with 160 games left.

JT, please, please, please I'm absolutely begging you, please lay off the drugs. There are places that can help you if you need it. There's no shame in going to rehab.

Just in case you need a good one:

The sky isn't falling but that Yankee line up without Jeter, Granderson, Teixeira and Arod in it is just bad. They need those guys back badly.

I actually question just how soon or how productive Jeter will be when he returns. He's only been able to playa total of 5 innings in the fied all spring and had to be shut down due to ankle soreness simply jogging to 1st base. I don't question his toughness by any means but for a 38 or 39 year old SS you do have to wonder if he'll even be able to handle the position (insert Jeter has no range at SS or isn't any good at it to begin with jokes here). Plus who knows when he'll be back, he hasn't done any real baseball activity and Cashman said they won't bring him back until he plays SS for a full 9 innings in back to back days, which is probably beginning of May at the earliest.

I would be worried about Teixeira too simply because any injury for a hitter below the forearm worries me. If this wrist zaps Teixeira of his power how good can he really be.

There is just a lot of uncertainty with this team right now, just because the player returns doesn't mean that player will still be the same one we're use to seeing. If I were a Yankee fan I'd be pretty concerned.

Age (and salaries of those players) should worry you. This is exactly why everyone was making fun of the Dodgers last year when they made the Punto Trade and started to take on anyone and everyone no matter what the price tag was. It's great to be able to field an All Star team every night but what happens the year everyone gets old and gets hurt at the same time? Or worst the players just stop performing like they're used to.

Everyone has been waiting for this to happen to the Yankees, maybe this is the year it finally does. Who knows though right now, but we will find out in time.

this team is relying on 2-40's years old to get things done.....

I got to say very refreshing to see someone with 2 outs go with the pitch outside, stick the bat out and drop a blooper over the SS head for a 2-run single....I would take that everyday then shooting for the fence.....

Leave the home runs to Gardener and Cervelli....you know the home run hitters....:shifty:

BTW A-Rod hasnt hit a ball that solid as Cervelli's in 2 years....

dropping each series 1-2 isnt as bad as it seems; mainly cause of grabbing the 1 from Verlander with CC......just have to beat up some others in coming series, steal a few here and there, and hang near .500 this month.

Swisher was an underrated part of that Yankee lineup. Obviously the Indians didn't underrate him, but hes a big loss from yall IMO.

Like my post responding to JT last week, I think that could be wishful thinking because outside of Granderson, you don't know if or when you're going to get Jeter, Arod and Teixeira back. And if they do return how productive they will be.

That can be said about every position and every injury league wide......

Not saying what the end result will be but you just are going to have to wait.....

I do believe A-Rod is cooking regardless.....

Oh sure, however I do think due to the injuries of Jeter, Tex and Arod there is more of a concern due to their ages and the type of injury. Jeter is a 38 year old SS, who had limited range to begin with, and hasn't played more than 5 innings in the field since October when he broke his ankle. Tex has a wrist injury, one similar to the one Jose Bautista got in July and was done for the year, and as you know with wrist, hand, finger injuries for hitters it can zap your power.

I just think most Yankee fans feel that once the players return (if they return) their production will be the same as it was but who knows if that will be the case.

Jeter I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt too....A-Rod is done, and honestly I think he is done for the year too.....

Tex we will see....if anything he is better in the field...

Hey if you think Jeter will be back by May 1st and hit .316/.362/.429/.791 more power to him and you. I just don't see that happening right now due to his inability of being able to actually play in games yet. And that's not even factoring in how he'll be able to move in the field or on the bases. He might not be able to play SS at an acceptable MLB level due to his age and mobility, we just don't know until he gets on the field.

I personally don't think Swisher is a big loss to be honest. Yanks hold on today they are 4-4, .500, and riding a 3 game winning streak, and scoring runs. Things suddenly don't look too bad. If they can keep this up until everyone gets back. Back to back games where the Yanks score 9+ runs. Right now its 9-0.

Edit: all 9 runs came with 2 outs, Cano is on fire right now too

2nd straight game with atleast 11 runs. 22 runs in two games. 14 Home runs this season

Edit: 24 runs, 15 home runs!

When, today or by seasons end?

If you want to argue that you haven't missed Swisher so far, thats obvious. In baseball you play 162 games. The first 10 games arent going to mean much in terms of projecting..

I am saying, at the end of the 162 games, we would not be in a situation where we would have looked back and say, only if we had swisher, we would be in the playoffs

    It is a moot point.

THEY. WERE. NOT. GIVING. SWISHER. THE. YEARS.

Swisher was the model of consistency during the regular season, something like 8 straight seasons with 20-85.....they will miss his regular season output sure...
