I don't think the writer was trying to say that Bosh sucked, he seemed to provide a lot of stats to the contrary. I think he basically was asking the question, is he worth that contract? The team isn't going anywhere and he is still better being the 2nd option on a team so its debatable as to whether that contract was smart. I think the Heat would have been better off going into full tank mode but I can understand why they signed Bosh and if they can pull off a couple of major signings in 2016 they could be at the top of the East again, but to me thats a big if.
well...if he is a second option....the first option on this team is having a great season as well....so I am not sure what he is trying to get at. Trust me...21 ppg, 8 rpg, 21 PER PF/C that play defense get max contracts.....they just do. I rather it be us that gave him the contract than somebody else.
The game never should have even come down to that last play. Defensively we were outstanding in the 4th quarter and had multiple possessions to build our 2 point lead with 2 and a half minutes left and we ended up not scoring until we had already fallen behind. The fouling was ridiculous as well. Chalmers had an incredibly reckless, pointless foul where he just barreled out of control into Kemba. The Heat just can't put anything together. We finally started playing defense and the offense went into the toilet. We finally found a group that looks like a legitimately good unit, and then Whiteside and Deng immediately miss time. Incredibly frustrating season, especially that even with all of these issues, we should be better than we are. With 2 all stars we should not be 6 games under .500 in the east
Riley speaking at a luncheon to announce a college bball tournament next season at AAA. Nuggets: Heat have underachieved and will have to fight for playoffs. Is looking at deals but they would have to help this year's team (i.e., no salary dumps for picks) Doesn't think 2010 can or will be duplicated in 2016. WILL take back 2016 salary for a star player. So, if the Knicks are giving Carmelo away for essentially free, do we have interest?
Riley also said any deal that he makes this year has to have long term value and that he won't make a trade that solely helps us get in the playoffs this year. I presume that means no Whiteside for an established player on a 1 year deal or something similar
The bold is what I'm happy to hear... Start building now... forget 2016 that's almost near impossible. No thanks to Carmelo.... I rather shift our interest to one of the Suns' point guards..
You can start building now and use 2016 to augment what you have and finish it off. Any other year..a Conley and Horford duo in Free Agency is a bonanza. Problem is that everybody insists on comparing it to 2010.
Would be great to have him.. not sure how we make the salaries to make this starting lineup happen: Dragic Wade Deng Bosh Whiteside
Someone WANTS to goto NY?? http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...s-wants-to-win-a-championship-with-the-knicks LaMarcus Aldridge and Harris, is that too much to ask
Glad we got the win today, without Hassan playing a minute.. We're going to need him against Chicago though. I can't believe we blew that 20 point lead, Wade played like absolute garbage in the second half and so did Bosh. I honestly thought we were going to lose once they cut it down to 2 points. We need a combo guard, a scorer off the bench. Like a Darren Collison type. I wonder if he's available.
I like Tobias Harris but we already have a much better version of him named Carmelo Anthony. For what it's going to take to by him as a RFA (think 5/50ish) you may as well go for kahwi at like 5/80 and go steal a SG since there's literally like 2-3 studs at that position and that's it. I'd go in a completely different direction then you. I hope San Antonio wins and Duncan rides off in to the sunset. Knicks sell Kawhi on a fat payday and the future with he and Anthony. Get dragic for 9-10M a season and draft Oakfor/Towns with their top three pick. Find a fill in Pf for a year. Than in 16 I take my chances I can land Durant or Noah or carry over cap in to 17 for Davis. Maybe I dream a lot but when I dream, I dream big! Lol
What Klay Thompson did last night to Sacremento was disgusting. Like Draymond Green said, you don't get that hot in NBA 2K. Stat line of the year IMO....52 points (37 in the 3rd), 11/15 3's, 2 rebounds, 5 dimes, 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Langston will likely never be a star but he is certainly a starter going forward imo, that opens up some aggressive ability to go BIG. Obviously we cant count on an Okafor but that would be striking NBA gold. You get Aldridge you solve a handfull of problems. And still can clear room for another big signing. I woukd shut Melo down after AS break and feature THJ in hopes a team is willing to give anything up for him. What a dissapointment he has become.
I was in the top 200 of the 300K guarentee at Fanduel, then at around 11:45pm last night i was getting passed at an insane rate.....people who had Klay in their lineup last night made alot of money.
Hassanity continues to do work! 7 mins, 4 points and 5 blocks... could have been more points if the team fed him on the break.
We are a combo guard off the bench away from being a real threat in the first round... Let's call the Kings and ask about Collison.. We'll give them Cole which expires and some other filler..
This strikes me as like when the Dolphins found Cam Wake sitting in the CFL. Whiteside is a difference maker, someone you build with.
I sense that in the NBA nobody is really patient with respect to the concept of letting things come together, there's always a move to roster tinker. But honestly the feel I get is they really do need to allow things to come together. Whiteside is going to start getting more minutes and he's an immediate difference maker. When he's played, the Heat have been a winning team and they have the ability to beat winning teams. When I watch the way Shabazz passes the ball I definitely see the right facilitator for the offense but he needs to just be more consistent. Ennis has upside as he gets more incorporated into the rotation. I guess if the right deal falls into your lap you always pull the trigger but I'd be focused right now on the second half of the season being much better than the first half, and focusing on getting into the playoffs and having everyone healthy to play in the playoffs. With Whiteside playing 30 minutes they can beat just about anyone in the East.
If they want to clear contracts they might be able to jump on an expiring, they're not contenders and they need to revamp the roster if they plan on becoming a playoff team in the future. There are other players and draft picks we can offer.
Whiteside is getting the verticality rule when he goes up for block shots, and He's much more athletic and a better shotblocker than Hibbert. wade's legs were moving very smoothly today. They looked young again. Triple double for Whiteside! 14 points 13 rebounds 10 block shots < blocks a franchise record!
after the game he said he tells his teammates to just let them drive he's got the paint... Past four years we had to rely on help defense for the paint.. This is a huge losd off our shoulders...
Wow, what a game. Triple double. NBA, take notice, Whiteside just arrived and let all you mother****ers know.
