You'd have to put Kyrie on Curry to start with. He'll definitely have to bring back the effort he had earlier in the year though just to make him work for his pts.

I agree. Whiteside looks like a beast even with somewhat reduced numbers.

The problem with that is this:

This last season, he had a higher PER than LeBron F'N James. The Highest in the EC.

he comes back down to earth, he still gets a monster contract. Because he becomes DeAndre Jordan.

I think the East is such a joke (especially this year), that some people think they're playing better than they are. I think at their best, they are about at the level of the Rockets and we saw what happened to them. You never know when you have the best player in the world on your team, though. If the role players get/stay hot, they could have a chance.

    CAN???

Absolutely. Chances are just slim, best hope for Cle is a healthy Kyrie and a hot JR.

I was referencing the JR "differential" in NY to Cle THIS season. He was playing lazy uninspired basketball in the 7-8 games I actually saw. He is a whole different player now. I attribute that to the Lebron factor....you can call it whatever you want.

I don't know.. these two teams have not shown a sign of the moment ever being too big.... They completely dominated every opponent.

Heres the thing....the cap ballons to roughly 89M next season and its only going up after that when the TV deal money starts kicking in. He is absolutely getting 12-15M this offseason. Im just praying its not my Knicks that give it to him.
You and me both brother but as a Knicks fan we could do worse. But he really BELONGS in a Heat uniform. Wade isnt like Lebron for me...I would welcome him. Lebron could just GTFO.
Hes not different, hes just not as distracted. He even said when he got to Cleveland theres no nightclubs there. The dude was out til 4AM every night in NY and too busy tweeting about Rihanna and stuff

Right. A trade to Milwaukee and he would be doing the exact same thing he is in CLE.

Probably. There's also less pressure on him. In NY he was being leaned on as the #2 scorer where as in Cleveland he was, before Love went down just a complimentary player. Even now he's really a 3rd option but if he has an off night the team is able to work past it.

So, it looks like Wade is doing the subliminal twitter/Instagram thing again.

You want to lose this long time fan Wade? Make me play social media detective for a month.

    I hate that crap.

I can't get the screen grabs from work, but he posted two "memes" I guess, one saying "There are 7 days in the week and "someday" isn't one of them" and then this morning "Stand up for something or you'll fall for anything"

This kind of stuff is Wade's MO (along with LeBron).

Wonder what it is about Riley that has been rubbing his star players wrong? He is an excellent closer, but once they get in the building what happens?

If he loses the best player alive and a Heat legend in 2 consecutive offseasons maybe his in house methods need some questioning.

Doubt it has anything to do with Riley.

He's actually not around the players very often. He only attends practices sporadically and doesn't address the players. He's the ultimate "boss", but Spoelstra is their immediate supervisor. If players have a problem, they deal with Spo.

Micky Arison talked about this once. He said something to the effect that he likes the players and is happy to talk to them about business opportunities, etc., but anything basketball related he sends them to Spo.

LeBron wanted to go home, additional power, perks for his boys, etc., that he knew were not available here. I don't think that classifies as Riley rubbing him the wrong way.

With wade, I don't know what the problem is since we have no idea what they are talking about money wise.

I saw both of those and don't see either as cryptic. Players post stuff like that all the time. I've seen countless players post the "stand up for something" quote.

LOL. Riley only rubbed one player the wrong way, and he did that by not letting him have full run of the kingdom. Fact is that if Lebron James had come out of his mother's vagina in Miami, he likely would have put up with his Boss telling him..."No, this is not your personal little sand box."

So you take the A##hole approach when i was making a genuine statement all the while admidtting i could be offbase and simply just didnt know.

The Heat falling from the top (well close) to the lottery has made you a grumpy old man. Maybe once GS wins this series you will be cheered up some.

I want to know if KD would pass up playing with Wall and Beal for the Heat? I hope KD comes join the Heat but my gut says it won't happen, then again I thought Lebron wasn't going to leave us so hopefully I'm wrong like last time.

Skolnick responded to some people on Twitter regarding Wade. Two big points that I don't know why he is reporting officially (this is my only issue with Ethan, who I otherwise like, he tends to hide big news that he's not 100% sure of in replies to questions that don't show up on your timeline if you just follow him)

Anyway, the problem is that Wade was "blindsided" by the initial offer which Ethan believes was below $10 million per year.

If that's true, than Wade is completely justified in being insulted, and it also begs the more intriguing question: Do the Heat want him back?

It's one thing to say that you don't want to discuss numbers until a guy opts out, or that the opt in is your preferred route, but if we actually responded to Wade with something like 3 for $24 million then I think he's justified to leave. And again, why make such an insulting offer if you actually want the guy back?

I asked Ethan on Twitter about whether the Heat really want him back and he said they do but they have other concerns.

I get having other concerns, like flexibility and health, but if you lowball somebody it's a sign that you're not too concerned about whether they stay or not. I understand not going to top dollar in the first round but under $10 million is ridiculous and I understand why Wade saw it as an outrage

I am deep inside this whole Wade mess. DEEP.

Won't reveal info..but will say this...

Right Now?...Wade is a LA Clipper or New York Knick. Things can change drastically though. Won't report anymore on this, in here. There is a club level thread, where I will put some info in, and it won't be anytime soon. Now is the silly season and much BS is bandied about.

I will post an "alert" in here when I post something...there.

Why would he go to the Knicks?

So he and Carmelo can both miss 20 games each?

Clippers I sort of understand but they can't afford him. He would either have to go for the mini mle or agree to a trade.

how would that work? Assuming it came to that, could we trade him to the Clippers prior to the opt out? Would we have to take back matching salaries?

Can't believe this is even a discussion.

As long as he brings KD with him to NY next offseason :)

On a different note, just thinking about the Knicks different options this and next offseason, does anyone think that Wade can play at least some PG on a regular basis at this stage of his career? Ill defer to you Heat fans because youve watched most/all of Wades games the last year or so.

Depends what you want out of your PG.

I'm not going to pretend to understand the intricacies of the triangle, but he certainly played the pseudo PG role here quite a bit. But our offense is different, still fairly "positionless"

Even after we got Dragic, Wade still initiated the offense fairly often, which wasn't a great thing always. His best right now is his mid-range and post game and as a cutter.

Carmelo is typically not a guy who misses a lot of games usually in the 5-15 range. Last year and 11-12 were the only 2 in recent memory. As much as you will hate to hear this the Knicks are in a very similar to the Heat in 2009. We have a star in place, a high draft pick this year (ya'll had Beasley) and oodles of cap space the next two offseasons. The difference is the Knicks are getting their cap space when the cap will be exploding. Oh and we also have a legend in place in the front office like you. This will be lightwork for Phil :)

The Knicks option just doesn't make much sense to me, though, for either party.
