Bosh has missed most of the last two years with what looks like a career threatening if not life threatening issue. Whiteside could easily leave, lots of Nba free agents move on. It's not that unlikely a scenario
For the record LeBron said his "secret motivation" was people in Miami telling him he made the biggest mistake of his life leaving. And said this -
I guess all the golfers that didn't play with wooden clubs were crap? Modern football players with real pads are ******* who couldn't play in other eras? Honestly if MJ had to have gone through LeBron he might not have 6 titles. He might but LeBron is not a product of an era, he's a all time great player for any era.
I'm happy for Cleveland but Lebron needs to shut the hell up. Everyone knows Draymond is a different player with Bogut, and there were THREE games without Draymond or Bogut. And all of a sudden their rebounding numbers went up. The first four games when everyone was available on both sides, Golden State was up 3-1.
Of all the silly motivations. Insulting as hell as well which is my problem with it. What's he expect Riley to say? "Yeah, you're right Wade is washed and we'll never get other good players. You are great and wise" Eff this guy, seriously. It was an open question as to whether Cleveland could attract talent and that question remains open. All major additions were trades. Joe Johnson turned them down knowing it was a guaranteed trip to Finals.
They have to stop committing stupid turnovers and their stars have underachieved in 2 Finals. Maybe they get the right pieces, maybe a guy like Durant goes somewhere that turns the tide.
Riley could have just respected his choice. Or he could have said I think you're making a mistake but I wish you the best. He could have said a lot of things other than, "You're making the biggest mistake of your career". Of course LeBron is going to take motivation from that. And didn't the two of them have dinner recently? I somewhat remember that controversy. I'm sure they're friendly about it. And I'm sure Riley would say now, well I guess I was wrong, congratulations.
You're also assuming that this conversation went exactly the way LeBron said it went, which I don't assume No one from the Heat publicly said anything negative about him at the time or since. And if that's the worst thing someone says to you after you completely **** them over, you should consider yourself lucky
THE BEST Corner Three Point shooter in History hitting a THREE from the corner, where he shot 57% in the playoffs, is NO "miracle". Coming back from 1-3 is a Billion times the more unlikely event. Tristan Thompson is a one dimensional player. he had a great series.
That's where you went off the rails. You're assuming Cleveland gives him the best chance to win, which is a bad assumption, and you're assuming that winning in Cleveland offers him the best chance to increase his legacy, another bad assumption. The Cavs had to come back from a 3-1 deficit in this series to win. If Draymond Green stops assaulting testicles, the Warriors probably win. They had a mid-year coaching change, some would probably even claim they were coach-less since it seemed players weren't listening to Lue and he was just doing whatever they wanted in a desperate attempt to stay relevant. There are definitely players in Cleveland that let LeBron down. And then when it comes to legacy, winning in a city with a bigger market increases his legacy. Then you've got the "brotherhood" or whatever the **** thing hanging out there, his wanting to play with Carmelo and Chris Paul, etc. I don't think he's going anywhere this year but just a few weeks ago people would have been absolutely convinced that LeBron is leaving Cleveland THIS off season if he hadn't written that letter promising in no uncertain terms a championship for the city of Cleveland. If that promise wasn't out there, admit it, you'd have written him off as being about to leave the team (again) a hundred times this season. Now fast-forward to a year from now and instead of winning a magical NBA Finals series they just lost in the NBA Finals or worse yet didn't even make the NBA Finals. Now what? His promise has been fulfilled. That's not keeping him there anymore. #HeGone
Bosh did not miss "most" of the last two years if we care about accuracy. he was also cleared by his own doctor. Trust that I know infinitely more about the situation than you do and most in media. As for Whiteside, when you have a franchise willing to keep the asset at all costs and they play in a state with friendly tax laws....well, you know.
You see? Dan Gilbert never wrote that letter. The fans in Cleveland never burned his jersey, and they never acted like lunatics when he went back.
BTW, for what it's worth, a media member that is not prone to BS, told me on Friday that if LeBron won this year...that he had heard that Nike was gonna push for him to go to the Clippers and if not, to then consider New York or the very least go back to Miami, but that they would recommend that he leave.
I still think he stays put till he retires. But his motivation will take a dive after yesterday. His career is complete now.
That's interesting. It sounds like whomever from Nike said that believes that you still need a bigger market than Cleveland to maximize sales/image.
And that is a BILLION dollar deal between he and Nike. I have no idea about any cap situations but I think the Clippers make a ton of sense. In addition to being in a big market, he'd get to play with Chris Paul which is kind of on his bucket list.
I find it funny when Cleveland fans claim Miami fans are "salty" when Cleveland fans behaved far, far worse at every stage.
A week ago we were arguing that the Warriors are the best team ever and now the Cavs are chumps cuz they had to come back from down 3-1 to beat them staaaaahp.
I appreciate it, but I'm more of a fan of the reason he came back. I feel like making those sacrifices deserved a reward. It felt great because of that last night....but I'm a NY Knicks fan....so yes it was as close as I will get in a long time to the feeling of a pro champion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Probably because Miami had plenty (of talent) when Lebron left, and had championships to show for his time there (and before he got there). Most people don't handle a break-up well, but some handle it much better than others.
One of the more impressive things about LeBron's record especially compared to Michael Jordan's is the fact he's never had a 1st round exit in the playoffs. At this stage of his career, MJ had three 1st round exits. And he had a 2nd round exit the year he was MVP and DPOY. Steph Curry gets sh-t because he was MVP this year and didn't win the Finals.
Agreed that some handle break-ups better than others. I've certainly known people who handle those situations poorly and I tend to think less of them b/c of it. Cleveland fans and that organization handled it as poorly as I can recall any organization or fan base doing so. They even treated Varejao (sp?) poorly when he returned and he didn't do anything bad to Cleveland (and they were a very good team then so it wasn't about the talent they had). It just comes off as classless. If I were an NBA player it is the last organization I'd want to be connected with in any way. If I had no options I'd work there rather than be unemployed of course, but given any other option I'd avoid Cleveland.
read an article that had pictures of kevin love celebrating with an austin 3:16 shirt and the smoking skull belt.. And drowning himself with two cans of beer. Is that guy cool or what. A scrub on the court and cant hokd a candle to Bosh, but he definitely had some childhood celebration goals he wanted to live up one day and he got to do it last night.
Kevin Love had a better series than people want to give him credit for. He's an easy target, but he played well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I seriously think you see what you want to see. There were far more Heat fans giving LeBron props than those expressing sour grapes yesterday. Or is it just more convenient to your argument to ignore the truth?
Not bad for a "declining" superstar. As far as love goes he played terrible most the series, but his effort and defense was on point last night Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Again look how Miami fans responded to Ricky Williams retiring....jerseys were burnt rallies were held angry fans were interviewed. City of Miami doesn't catch any flack for that, and welcome him back with open arms. Why is THAT ok? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Read the post below yours lol. I'm sorry but it isn't like an isolated post, its been this way for a long time, I don't even see what we are arguing about.
He is, and I love Lebron. But the game was way different it was much harder to score, and if you attack the rim you usually got your *** kicked. You can't hand check anymore in the fouls are called at an alarming rate. Maybe one of our guys who enjoy numbers can figure out with the increase of scoring in the early to mid 90s to now but Jordans 30+ points per game average would be around fourty in today's league Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
