Maybe HOME will come out sooner than previously thought? I want my trophies for games already though, lol.

Sarcasm or sincerity....I'm not sure? Plus I believe Sony is going to need something huge like that to take back a lot of the headlines that Microsoft took today with the FFXIII announcement. Why Sony doesn't pay to keep their exclusives I'm not sure but losing FFXIII is huge and I think its a major blow like GTA IV and the exclusive content the 360 got was a year ago. Sony may still have some great exclusives but until they get a hold on two major 360 exclusives then the 360 will keeping killing them in that area (so Halo 4 and Gears 3 better be cross platform). However I still think the PS3 has more and better exclusives than the 360 but the gap is getting closer (as the 360 steals away the PS3's exclusives and Sony does nothing to counter by stealing some 360 exclusives). Also truly does anyone think that the day of exclusive games will eventually go the way of the dinosaurs?
3rd party exclusives maybe. I don't think there will be a time where Microsoft Studios makes game for the PS3 and visa versa
Is Gears made by Microsoft? I know Bungie makes Halo so it could be ported right or did Microsoft buy them also? If neither of them can be ported over then well that's about it as I see Microsoft having no major exclusives besides those two (which is why I think Sony still has more and better exclusives).
I do not know exactly. My understanding though was that part of the breakage of Bungie from Microsoft, was that Microsoft would still get Halo exclusivity.
1) Yes I was being sarcastic. 2) Yeah I think we're reaching the point where exclusivity wont mean much when it comes to 3rd party games.
Gears and Halo are published by Microsoft Game Studios so I guess its out of the question. Also in response to Mike I still think third party games will still have exclusives but I do think that it will now mostly be first party exclusives.
The 360 version is only coming out here and in Europe. It's not coming out in Japan because no one would buy it--yes, that's the exact reason they gave. They said it more tactfully, but there you go. The 360's biggest advantage is Xbox Live, but PSN is better than XBL was at similar development stages.
It's closer to 50/50 in Europe than anywhere else. The 360's biggest market is the US, which is really what Square-Enix has in mind with this port. Honestly, this generation has been pretty good in terms of being able to buy any console at random and getting some solid enjoyment out of it. 360 fans are happy with their Halo and their Gears, PS3 fans are happy with their MGS4 and their Uncharted, and Wii fans are happy to play the latest Mario.
True it is pretty even with the PS3 slightly ahead I think. Don't forget Wii also gets Metroid and Zelda.
Whats strange is that FFXIII remains a PS3 exclusive in Japan. I havent heard anything about Versus XIII though.
Versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive and the reason FFXIII is still a PS3 exclusive in Japan is because hardly anyone in Japan owns or knows what a Xbox 360 is.
The gaming library is practically similar. Most big-name 360 games have been released on or announced for the PS3, the latest being Bioshock. At this point, the major differences between the platforms come down to price and the few remaining exclusives. I personally skew more towards MGS4 and Uncharted than Halo 3 and Gears, but to each their own. The 360 also has an edge in terms of GTA4 DLC, but I suspect that Rockstar will get around the exclusive part by making the content available on a physical disc for the PS3--thus, you don't "download" it per se, and the download remains exclusive for the 360. Just to give you an idea of how similar the platforms are this point, I can buy Lost Planet for both, I can buy Madden '09 and NCAA Football '09 for both, I can get Soul Calibur 4 for both, I can get Saints Row 2 for both, I can get Resident Evil 5 for both, and I can get downloadable games like Castlevania: SotN for both.
Halo Wars and Fallout 3 got some preview on G4 today yipee Also looking forward to previews of Fable 2, more Gears, Force Unleashed, Too Human .... erg, so many good games coming out, need a cash infusion!!! Also hoping Blizzard gives some info on starcraft 2 release date, though they may wait till their own Blizzcon for that.
As for Soul Calibur you can get it for both but each has exclusive characters (Yoda-36-, Darth Vader-PS3). I find your theory about the downloadable content interesting and I hope that Rockstar chooses to do that (although I doubt it as they won't even go back and make a patch for GTAIV so that firmware version 2.41 could load background music in the game and give trophies). I hope your right though.
Bungie was owned by Microsoft but they bought their way out of it so they are their own studio now. However as part of the deal Microsoft owns all rights to future halo franchises though they wont be made by Bungie obviously. If there is a Halo 4 it will be a Microsoft exclusive.
Better that than them rushing it out and it being a huge suckfest. Personally I dont mind when games take a little longer to polish the wheels. Now if I wait all this time and it blows, den we got prolems mayne.
PS3 GH catalog is pretty good collection of games, only problem is you can find all (most at least) those games for that price already. Where is Ratchet and Clank?
