Woot! Apparently Bungie is working on Halo 4 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2008/07/halo-bungie-e3.html At least I assume a bungie Halo related project would be Halo 4, unless it was some spin-off like Halo Wars. I doubt it comes out until late 09 though at best, probably 2010.
oh gawd what Bungie can't make anything other than Halo? I guess their realizing what a Cash cow this series is. I also want to point out that there was a rumor floating around that they were going to show their game at E3 or at least announce it but their publisher said no. Now the game is rumored to be a Squad based game. My guess its going to be reworked to be like MAG.
Thats exactly what my post was about. They were supposed to show something of the game they were working on their unnamed publisher said no.... Then Microsoft released the statment that I posted saying that they chose not release any info on the project and later in an interview for MTV confirmed that Bungie is indeed working on a halo projet that is not Halo Wars or anything connected with Peter Jackson. So its either Halo 4 or some type of spinoff that we have heard nothing about. And yeah, I agree about Bungie knowing the cash cow they have. Supposedly part of the reason they bought their way out of being a Microsoft company was so they could make none Halo related games..... Looks like the cash lured them back in, and I dont blame them a bit. Heck Halo 3 grossed what? 500 Million in its first week of sales?
So am I the only one that thinks the Halo series is overrated? I'm not saying its a bad series because its not but come on it does get a little too much praise when it does have some flaws.
My guess is Squad based game with Co-op campaign or their own MAG but in the Halo universe. Yeah their not going to stop making Halo games. IF its bringing them money why stop? No is just a average FPS. All they did was make the game right.
Anything Halo is good imo Overrated? Ofc it is, nothing can live up to that kind of hype. But still a very enjoyable game and they do a good job. Plus, its always fun to be a part of something like that, its an event IMO Microsoft has done the best. Sony was kind of a letdown but with some bright spots, Nintendo was just meh.
Im really looking forward to Left 4 Dead looks like a ton on fun and replay value. Comes out less than a week prior to Gow2.

A game can't be average if it is made right. By definition, most games don't do it right, otherwise most games would be multi-million sellers.
Madden. People buy the name not the game. Also its taste, I'm not a huge fan of FPS that play the same like every other FPS. I was never a real fan of FF because of the Turn base and the spell system. I like FF tactics great game. Also by made right I mean they play it safe, they don't try to do new things.
honestly Madden bashing is just popular. Madden is not a bad game like people love to make it out to be and even when 2k was a better game it wasn't head and shoulders 100% a better game. The last FF wasn't turned based. First the name becomes something worth people buying and then people trust the name. Some people can only afford a few games a year. They go with what they know. However, FF has been a great series. The games are fun if you are into those type of games and the graphics every time have been some of the best if not the best of all games at the time. All these "Don't buy the hype" people are acting like Square is just phoning it in with FF and people are just buying crap because it has the logo.
Final Fantasy is menu-based, not turn-based. It hasn't been turn-based since they released 4; actions occur based on speed statistics, rather than in the order of turns. In contrast, Final Fantasy Tactics is turn-based, and you seem to have enjoyed that. Also, every FF game has a different spell system.

I think a squad based game is very possible. They will be looking to do something slightly different and in halo 3 they already have online 4 player co opp and while it was in production said playing it that way was the funnest campaign halo experience they had had. I could definitely see them going to a full squad based game and honestly it wouldn't be that much of a shift. Just about all the online stuff is team based anyway.
What is the big deal with little big planet? I know a few mentioned it and the G4 cast loved it. But I don't really get why (don't know much about it). I need to get a 360... Gears, left for dead, and Too Human are three exclusives I want bad. What does everyone think of Ghostbusters? Anyone think it could be good?
The big draw of LBP is that it allows people to create their own levels(side scrolling Platform game play) and upload them to their friends. These levels can be for single player or up to 4 player coop. Now that may not seem like a huge deal at first, but the guys who developed the game has allowed for such a ridiculous amount of creative potential by allowing players to come up with ways to make their own objects.

Didnt think they could top part 4 but I was WRONG! That looks 10 times better than 4 and part 4 was amazing.
Well of course its my personal opinion but there are too many things to list about what's wrong with X Play. Honestly I quit watching it a couple years ago when it resorted to some sort of unfunny comedy sketches that caused me to lose all respect for the show. When the show was on TechTv it was about the games then it totally sold out much like what happened to The ScreenSavers. Therefore I don't give much credence to their reviews. Short list of my problems with X Play: Annoying unfunny sketches Annoying hosts as a result (I liked them before they were comedians) Annoying show all around as a result.
I agree the show has gotten worse over the years, though I must say I was originally drawn to it because of Morgan Webb, lol.
It just that amazing. I hope they add more animations though, alot of them seem to be borrowed from RE4.
I stopped watching too. I just started watching occasionally and thankfully the shows format has changed (live) and I haven't seen anymore dumb sketches.
