Remember that Brandon Marshall guy?
I could name 5 teams off the top of my head Matt Moore could be starting for. All we need to do is board the Jay Train. Choo Choo.
one thing I do like about Moore is his eagerness to throw deep passes just needs to know when is a good time and when is not lol
I feel stills and parker benefiting tremendously from Moore taking snaps.
100% agree keep feeding the monster!!!
I'm looking forward to what he can and will do with this offense if allowed to do so.
For me, Matt Moore starting creates more anxiety than anything else.. I just dread the INT's coming our way at inappropriate times (unless he's changed). But yes, at least he'll sling it more which can help make big plays.
Regardless, there's no reason to be down on this team. We finally found a good HC and there's no reason we can't still make the playoffs even with Moore.. the entire team just has to step up like it did against the Cardinals.
Why wouldn't he be allowed to do so, I am not following?
I'm hoping that what I saw of him in the preseason wasn't indicative of what he'll be capable of with the starters around him. That's about as hopeful as I can get in this situation.
Gase might scale back the offense preventing him from doing anything like to do. Kinda like once he came in the game it was hand off, hand off, hand off, until the game needed to be won.
Not sure where the INT comment comes from. He will be fine, I have no anxiety with him starting.
Is that the feeling Gase gives you,as a HC? Not me! Seems he finds out what players do best and like to do. You and Finster must be doing cartwheels right now with the great news on RT. Should be just fine and rearing to go for at least the OTA's. Gase just said RT is the starter no matter what Moore does......must be more of that coach speak!..Wow, what great news. Should really put a smile on our fanbase's faces for a bit! Most of them anyway
Off the top of my head I can't remember, what contract is Moore on? Looking slightly longer term, if Moore comes in and has a good few weeks is there any chance we trade him in the off season? Not like there aren't a few teams that will be looking for new QBs
If Moore comes in and plays lights out while the offense at times struggled under RT, is that really the call you want the coach to make?
I am sure Gase is not going to say, "sorry RT you are done here, don't let the door hit you one way out." Gase is saying what he should say for all the right reasons.
Still waiting 25....Your reaction to the fantastic news today?
I just don't feel about RT as you do. I don't believe the offense will suffer as you and some wish and want to believe. Many are talking about INT's well RT just had 3 of them the game before. He threw one yestereday, with a fumble, and got lucky the ball rolled out of bounds or he would have had a 3rd turnover yesterday. So, if you all are happy with 3 turn over games, not sure why you are stressing over what Moore might or might not do.
I didn't want RT hurt in the first place. I was angry there was no flag called on the play and have expressed outrage in the past on the cheap hits he takes with no calls being make. RT likely won't play again this year, so nothing really changes. I am glad he is not out forever and ever, I don't want to see anyone get hurt.
Once again, where did i say the offense will suffer? Normally when a back up takes over there will be a drop off...hoping there is not. Seriously want Moore to do great..you know, for this team. Not because I dislike the starter and want him out. Any good impressions of RT throwing 3 TD's yesterday or did you use them all up on the Moore throw? C'mon, stop it. I am really not convinced you are the least bit happy about the news....really not convinced! lol
Because the logical thing for Gase to have done would have been to put your backup, who hasn't played a meaningful snap in years into the game and immediately have him throw all over the field? Ok...
So, are you starting with excuses for Moore already? "Gase might scale back the offense preventing him from doing anything (he) likes to do." Give your head a shake. I seriously wonder if you've watched a game, or if you just stare at Brandon Doughty on the sidelines, or in the stands if you spot him on tv. I mean seriously. Adam Gase has adjusted and modified this offense all season long to play to the strengths of his players. Whether it was Ryan Tannehill, or Jay Ajayi, or the pool OL, I mean... it's pretty obvious he's not going to do that.
Nobody puts their back up in mid game and starts throwing right away, especially when he hasn't played in years. You give him time to adjust, you give him a few quick easy confidence building passes to adjust, then you go with what he's comfortable with. If Gase sat down with Tannehill early this season and asked for his input in the game plan he's sure as hell going to do that with Moore who's getting the start now. That's just what good teams and coaches do.
I really don't understand where you're coming from 3/4's of the time, and I'm positive I'm not alone in that. Before you go there, it's NOT because of your opinion on Tannehill's play. You're entitled to that. I get we don't all agree on him, sometimes though, I'm just really not sure what you're trying to accomplish.
As for those saying we might open up the offense more with Moore, because he has this glorious deep ball, I'd caution you to look at the ball to Stills yesterday. It's a jump ball. Most of his past deep ball success was with Marshall, who is one of the best at going up and getting it.
I'm not confident in Matt Moore. He's going to play like a backup. That's what he is. As long as he doesn't give the game away, we should be fine. I am however confident that Adam Gase will put together a gameplan that allows us to win with Matt Moore. As our coach, and essentially our OC he's put together plans all year long that allowed Ryan Tannehill to put up career numbers, and glaringly obvious improvements in his game. For that reason, I think we will be fine.
So why are you so upset that I am saying exactly about Moore, what some of you have said about Tannehill?
If you watched the Miami Dolphins like you claim that you do, you would know that we needed a first down BAD. What better time to call a play action then on the second play after Moore came in on either series? The defense was expecting run, run, run and that is exactly what Gase gave them. I knew with playing that way the game was going to be tied up, cause i've watched them play,,, you know the game... and also Joseph started playing the DB's 7 yards off the ball on the long drive, once again I thought there going to score here.... cause again i've watched the defense enough to know what they do well and what they don't do well. hint ..... playing 7 yards off the ball is bad...
If Gase comes in and calls one looks plays then NO he is not doing what Moore does well, but it is SAFE.
Did you WATCH the play to Stills? He threw it with the DBs back to the QB Stills made a great adjustment too, AND it was really the only throw he could make at the time since he was drilled almost as soon as he got the ball. If you insert Tannehill in there on that throw you would be saying how great it was....... Not sure what your agenda is in saying it was not a great play by Moore. If he does not throw it or takes sack, game likely goes into OT.
You continue to want to stir things up all the while saying you aren't.. It is comical really.
Because its incredibly lame and transparent, and even you know it. Its your constant narrative on here and you push that agenda all the time. Sadly, almost all see it, except you. Nobody has ever said you do not have the right to feel the way you do...it is when you push it and go overboard. Which seems it was your priority to do so right after the game. Sorry dude.
it is lame and transparent when I say it, but you can say the exact same things about Tannehill and it isn't ..... amusing .
You claim to be a Dolphins fan, were you not excited by the play? Were you not excited the Dolphins won?
When you look back to sparanos last year, when Moore played pretty well... Todd Bowles took over with 3 games to go. We finished with 3 straight division games.
1-a crazy win in buffalo vs. Fitzpatrick. Bush-200 yards.
2- a narrow loss in Foxboro
3- another wild win to spoil Rex Ryan's last playoff run.
We next finished with 3 division games in 2013. I'm sure you remember that debacle after the M.Thomas INT to beat the pats.
Here were are again, with 3 division games. Again this time we hold a playoff spot and all the same people stand in our way.
Uh, dude. Serious question. Have you actually ever watched him play?? Go back and watch the 3 last games of the 2011 season. You will see where the fear comes from. I am beginning to think you are his relative or something lol!
So Matt Moore's been in this spot for us. If you believe Adam Gase has helped RT and can adapt the offense, you''ve got to have some expectations for Moore to manage.
jumped out of my chair screaming for joy....Your questions are baffling to me. Why would that not make me happy? My only guess would have to be your weird reactions as a fan when it is RT leading it...sad for you.
All real fans are happy when their team wins regardless of the QB who is playing. I hope Matt Moore can lead us to the playoffs and I'm sure every RT supporter hopes so too. We are fans of the Miami Dolphins, not the Miami Tannehills or Miami Moores (or Doughtys).
Is this concept really that hard to understand? It must be, otherwise why ask such silly questions. Hell, I cheered for Cleo Lemon, David Woodley, Gus Ferrotte and a whole hosts of others. Not once in over 40+ years cheering this team on did I say " Don't really like our QB, hope they don't score or do well!"....Seriously, bordering on insanity and incredible immaturity.
It doesn't matter. We had a lead when he came in, a two score lead. There's no need to pass there when he's fresh into action. It's just, common sense for most coaches to not put him in that situation that early. Especially the way our D was playing prior to that.
Your wrong on that Stills pass IMO, but I covered that in the other thread though, I guess we can do it here too. IMO, Moores intention is to lead stills on his route into the endzone. Stills has man coverage, and a step or two on his man. That ball was supposed to be into the endzone. Instead it's underthrown because Moore is completely blasted by a free blitzer, Stills then makes the adjustment. Moore didn't underthrow that on purpose as you're trying to claim apparently. It's a heck of a play by Moore to stand in there and take that shot. But it's not the play you're making it out to be. It was underthrown because he couldn't step into it because of the hit, and Stills adjusted. Just watch the replay of Stills... His route is to take him into the endzone, that's where the ball was designed to go. It didn't get there because of the hit. It's a heck of a play by Moore, but it's awfully lucky at the same time.
I don't care who the QB is, so stop trying to make this about that. I've credited Moore for it, but just not the way you want to, because well, it doesn't appear that's how it went down to me when looking at it objectively.
Psh, duh bro. Ofcourse I saw it. You can oddly assume I'm biased to Moore by stating facts... But it's clearer that you really didn't see anything and are looking to complain. Don't tell me to go watch $&@& ! I was there. Moore had a 5-1 TD ratio in the first two before that sloppy, slop field game against the vaunted jets D when he warmed up to orchestrate a 4th qtr comeback to spoil their season. It was JTs last game, I was 434 row 2 back then. Psh.
That's the thing for me. My confidence in this team with Moore at the helm is based on Adam Gase and his ability to tailor this offense to his QB, and players' strengths, not Matt Moore's ability as a QB. Not that Moore is bad, but he's a career backup for a reason. I have no doubt that Adam Gase will bring out a gameplan next week with heavy input for what Moore is comfortable with, and what he's good at doing. The coaches flexibility should go along way into contributing to a situation where Moore can come in, manage the game, take what he's given, and hopefully not give it away. That's all he's got to do, that's all you want from your backup. Come in, do what you're asked, do what you need to win, don't give it away.
As a Doughty fan, I'm assuming you watched quite a bit of WKU football, what do you think of Brohm?
Well said. Another big test for Based Gase.
My contribution to "let's be positive about Matt Moore":
Adam Gase has engineered offensive output with Tim ****ing Tebow at QB. Matt Moore is a capable backup.
I forgot how old he was though. He doesn't look that old. But thinking back to how long ago it was when he was making noise in Carolina, he definitely is that old. Here's hoping his career can end with a nice playoff run!
Damn, that's right, he was the OC there when Tebow was doing his thing wasn't he? Damn.
Just read some analysis by someone who knows a lot more than me and Moore did more than meets the eye on those last couple plays.
I think we have a fighting chance.
I think he was QB coach, not OC.
go look at the stats the season he stared for us and come back and let me know. I believe he was like 6-3 his last few games,,,, but apparently that is bad??
Then why are you angry at me because I was pleased they won and Moore made a great play, showing he can make plays in the clutch, which bodes well for the season?
