I've loved 3 of Zach Snyder's films (Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen), but haven't had a chance to see Sucker Punch ... so I am willing to cut him a lot of slack. Could also be one of those things where they are setting up a potential sequel by casting a well known villain in a minor role ... looking at it as a cohesive series (I'd guess 3) could be smart. That said, Warner has messed up this property (it's freakin' SUPERMAN, fer chrissakes ...) so many times over the years it's hard to be optimistic. As long as pictures of a long haired Nick Cage wearing a purple body suit don't surface, I'm going to remain optimistic. Look at TDK: You've got Batman, Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, Two-Face, the Joker, and Rachel Dawes taking up screen time. And they even found time to tie the films together with the crime families. That's why I'm happy Nolan is involved in a producer role - while I don't want to see a "gritty" take on the Man of Steel, I do think his expertise in keeping an ensemble cast together and a weave a tight cohesive, but most importantly, compelling, storyline will prove invaluable.
