Alot of these movies have their small twists in them that actually help the movie thrive.

If you decide to not embrace another view and constantly complain about the smallest of things, then get on Netflix and watch reruns of the version YOU like.

Exactly. I don't understand how people tend to always use the comics as "The Bible" and if something is changed slightly then that change is automatically for the worst. Film makers should be allowed to give their movie characters tweaks or different spins on things without all the bashing attached. Because, new flash, comic writers update/change/tweak changes and stories all the time too.

Sometimes change is for the good you know.

You don't think when you watch movies?

Why would I wonder that. Now you are just being silly.

The problem I have with Joker's make up is that it didn't add anything and took away from the character. Which is also why I disagreed with Rami with making Spider-Man's webshooters part of his body.

I don't have to agree with all of decisions to enjoy the movie. The fact that I do not like the fact that the Joker wore makeup like some wierd goth, doesn't mean that the Dark Knight isn't one of my favorite movies of all time.

Plus the fact that Bane isn't a huge guy who actually looks scary, isn't the reason I am not the biggest fan of The Dark Knight Returns.

I see your point if that is the only thing that causes someone to not like something. However there is nothing wrong with having small complaints about a movie.

Most of the people I know who know NOTHING about comics know Superman's origin story. It is kind of like knowing the story of Snow White.

I don't disagree that a lot of changes are for the better.

Also, it is on you to decide what is small and large. Just because you don't find something iconic, doesn't make you right.

Just wait until the next Batman to see how many Nolan fans will complain about this new Batman and how he isn't as cool as Nolan's Batman.

No I don't wonder about them at all, I just assume they do these things off screen, unless it's a huge plot hole or something important to the overall story.

EDIT: I saw you added more to your post, so I will comment on it. I personally don't think The Joker wearing make up takes away anything from the character. It makes much more sense for him to wear make up in Nolan's "realistic" version then his pera-white skin in the comics. Plus with him wearing make up, Nolan's point of the character was, like Batman, he could be anyone (Nolan even stated so in interviews) which again makes him the yin to Batman's yang.

Well IMO it will be nearly impossible to match Nolan's story....so if my mindset is Nolan vs. ------, then I'm ever giving the movie a chance based on that. But I wouldn't do that, I like enjoying the movie at hand not worrying about schematics.

I bet if you polled 100 random people the majority of them wouldn't know his backstory in detail. Just like I bet if you polled 100 people they wouldn't even know who Darth Vader and/or Luke Skywalker is, let alone that they are father/son. I think you overestimate the general public.

I am a superhero fan and know the back story of a lot of the characters that I am fans of, batman, spiderman, some of the x-men etc. I'm not a huge superman fan so I only knew that he was from another planet jettisoned to earth and grew up with the Kents. I completely forgot that he gets his power from the sun. Also i didn't realize his real name was ka-el until I started reading about this movie. I always just though it was clark kent.

I know Darth Vader's is Luke's father, but only because of how popular that scene is. I never saw Star Wars.

But yea, I really don't read comic books or watch the shows. So, I don't know anything about Superman or any other hero. I have been meaning to get into it ever since I started watching The Big Bang Theory but I haven't.

I bet differently. Especially if the poll was based on 100 random people who would watch a Superman movie. I would take away, "in detail" because that isn't needed. Most people know he is from another planet and raised on a farm. Well most people who would be interested in watching a Superman movie.

It is also not like every movie has to show an origin story. I have seen many great movies where I didn't see how the hero became a badass and still enjoyed and cared about them.

Heck, I am not a fan of the Transformer movies, however seeing a movie on how the Transformers were created or how Optimus Prime rose to power wouldn't have made the movies better. However I would actually like to see that movie.

Me too, but they'll probably set up Lex.

I'm guessing they are going to follow the Nolan Batman blueprint. (Based on the trailers)

Movie 1: Origin. Hero goes on physical journey to find himself. Becomes a hero fighting an army from his past.(LoS/Kryptonian forces). Home gets destroyed. (Wayne Manor/Smallville) (Bet there'll be a hint to the next villain somewhere towards the end.)
Movie 2: Hero is now an icon in the city. Will face arch nemesis (Joker/Luthor). Arch nemesis creates other villain (Two Face/Metallo maybe?)
Movie 3: Virtually no crime in city. Hero semi retires. Villain who is superior in either mind or strength and not lacking in the other ( Bane/Braniac maybe?) threatens on a major scale (Gotham/Earth?).

Yeah I was just going to comment that they will probably follow TDK trilogy model where you get the "big well known villain" in the 2nd movie, followed by the biggest theat in the 3rd film. I could possibly see them bringing in Doomsday for the 2nd or 3rd film and doing the "Superman is dead" storyline though. It would be a pretty powerful ending to the 2nd film, with Superman returning in the 3rd.

Zack Snyder did mention that there are a lot of mentions/easter eggs to the DC Universe in the film, like the LexCorp building.

They can still set up Braniac for the third movie in this movie. Braniac was a computer that Superman's father created.

Again I hope so, I'm just going by what I've seen as a comparison. But considering its Zod in this one, its certainly possible. I just think the destruction that will happen in this one will be used as a catalyst for Luthor's actions in the next one.

I sincerely don't mean this to be douchey, but...and?

I think expecting the trilogy to closely pattern the Dark Knight storyline is overly simplistic. Expect a different arc this time around. That being said I do expect Lex to be introduced at least marginally in this one. If live to see Brainiac but that hand hasn't been tipped at all as of yet

I do agree that is what they will probably do. Maybe they could really think ahead and have Braniac be part of the reason for the rise of Luthor.

My point longer than a sentence and more clear, Braniac is a computer that is built by Superman's real father. Since they are having so scenes in Krypton with his father, it is very easy to incorporate Braniac. Heck even if they don't have plans to use him, it should be done as a nod to the fanboys.

Well it's to be 2 hrs and 40 minutes, so they could do 30-40 minutes of background story. We know from the trailers they do spend time with him as a teen because of that whole school bus scene. I'm interested to see how they weave the story of him on the fishing boat that is seen in the trailers.

Yeah I wouldn't really agree with that. I kind of compare it to TDKR footage where they are showing you a lot of the movie yet still don't know overall what the heck is happening/why. I actually think they're doing a good job giving us a lot of footage yet keeping things a mystery.

This film has been getting tons and tons of positive buzz already. WB is pretty confident its going to be a hit, so much so that most expect them to announce a sequel to this movie soon after it gets released for summer of 2015/2016. I would be pretty surprised if this film did poorly at the box office or got mostly bad reviews.

If you are talking about the Disney in Orlando, no it won't be hard at all. Just use Fandango. I would suggest going to the theater in Downtown Disney. That place is the bomb. But I'm pretty sure you gotta go to Moviewatcher.com to get tickets online there.

Yeah, that's the theatre in downtown Disney. Tried like heck to get tickets last year for opening week of Brave, couldn't get any. At least not sitting together. I usually use Fandango at home, but didn't for some reason down there

Yeah the first trailer was very underwhelming, I had concerns when I first saw it. Since then though all the other trailer and TV spots wiped those concerns away, I have extremely high expectations for this film and I'm not much of a Superman fan to begin with.

Large portions of Zod's motivation and just the story in general. Before that trailer I had no idea why Superman was in handcuffs. Now I do.

I'm not a big fan of giving away third act actions in trailers. It's one of the reasons I didn't enjoy the mid-air rescue during Iron Man 3 as much as I should have.
