Who else are you referring to...Miller?

I don't really consider him an "LBJ" guy so much as just a shooter who is really respected throughout the league. I know Ira had an article about them but I didn't make that much of it.

And no reason to be uncomfortable. You can't get a whole lot better than Z for the price we're offering.

The Bobcats are "very likely" to waive Dampier and his non-guaranteed $13 million salary for next season, a source tells Y! less than a minute ago via web

    Go get him Riles.

Really, Z and Damp are perfect for what we need. Two savvy veterans who can hold down the fort for a year while we continue to develop Joel and see what we have in Pittman/Varanado.

Perfect short term solutions for a championship team.

The only player I see that could be considered a LBJ guy is Bug Z. Wouldn't there have to be multiple signings of guys that could be considered LBJ guys before this could even be a concern?

Even if they are Lebron guys, let's face it: Cleveland could have won a championship with their roster + Wade and Bosh

Miller's a good friend of LBJ's but since he's UD's former room-mate at UF, I'll wing it. Not as concerned. It's just Z, I guess.

Because Z didn't hold an hour long special to do so.

Big Z has almost nothing left - but for short stretches his length can wreak havoc on a team and his jumper is still deadly. Great signing by the Heat. He came in and had a positive impact against the Celts in the playoffs. Used sparingly he will be a great addition.

I see the special argument as an excuse. It has become the focus of a spurned fan base but I have no doubt that LBJ would have been hated and criticized just as much regardless of how he left.

I envision Z splitting time about evenly with Anthony, each playing about 20 minutes per game at most. It may depend on how many minutes Haslem logs at C. I wouldn't be surprised if Z gets the starting nod, but who is listed as the starter may be irrelevant.

Raf and Stringer - you guys bashed me for being upset with the way LeBron handled things (which has been backed up by almost every single media outlet outside of ESPN - who had a vested interest) and now you bash me for being supporting and cheering for Z?

I get it. You guys won. You are on top of the world. Enjoy it. CLE bball is dead. You can quit kicking us now.

I was just trying to give insight on Z as a guy who has watched Cavs games for the last 5 years - I'll bow out now.

That is not why Cavs fans are upset dude, c'mon. You guys would be pissed if he left in a humble way, much less the way he did. If Dan Marino had left the Dolphins in his prime, we'd be pissed no matter what. Leaving was a slap in the face, 'The Decision' was a slap in the face with his ****.

No I understand, I just find it hypocritical. Not to mention that there are plenty of Cavs fans that are enraged at Big Z.

In regards to every single media outlet supporting your disdain for the biggest moment in NBA off-season history, I would direct you toward Colin Cowherd's podcast from last Friday. There were plenty of guests, and Cowherd himself who were dismayed at how you could be mad at LeBron for doing what he did, in the manner he did.

I didn't win anything and certainly don't want to kick a fellow Dolphin fan. And I appreciated your opinion on Z. I just think it's disingenuous to claim that the reason Cleveland fans are upset is the special.

I honestly see nothing wrong with the way he handled it. He had a special...I don't see the big deal in that.

What would have been wrong, would have been saying "Im coming back 100% dont worry" and then changing his mind.

I didn't expect him to pick Miami even through all of the hype, and it really has nothing to do with him choosing us, because up to the last minute I thought he would return to Cleveland.

My opinion is that Lebron wasn't just a normal free agent whether we like it or not. A lot of people cared about where he was going, and wanted to see the explanation why. ESPN is just as guilty for airing it if people dont like it IMO.

Yes, and THAT would've been a dick move, ala Nick Saban. He didn't promise them anything. I don't even have a problem with people bashing 'The Decision', because it was a trainwreck, although it wasn't meant to be. It was naive of LeBron and his people to think that was the best way to handle it.

I still contend, and always will, there is no correct way to leave if you're LeBron. Stay and be beloved, or leave and be hated. Those were the two inevitable outcomes.

Also, Ericka Dampier would be perfect to round out the front court rotation. Solid post defender and shot blocker, also bigger than Joel Anthony and his hands aren't as stone cold. I like the versatility that Anthony/Z/Dampier would bring to the table while Pittman lean cuisines himself into shape. All we need are bodies. Size. Fouls.

Why not love for Eddie House though? He'd be another great addition, IMO.

Not at all. See earlier in the thread, Woj tweeted that Damp is likely to be bought out, or flipped to a tax team that will buy him out. He will be free in a matter of days I would imagine.

By the way, you guys have to check out RealGm when you get a chance. The Bulls and Knicks fans are still ridiculous. Now each board has a thread dedicated to the Trio's SI cover and they are psycho analyzing LBJ's facial expression and have determined that he regrets this move and will ask to be traded within the year.

This from the same people that fell for World Wide Wes's nonsense hook line and sinker. The funniest is a Knicks fan opining that in order for LBJ to be happy he should go to Stern, admit to tampering, have his K voided and return to Cleveland by begging in another nat'l tv special

Charlotte was in a bad situation cap wise, that and Brown and Jordan shuffle players out of Charlotte who they feel do not fit their system.
