Probably, but the thing to keep in mind is "where' the Wiz are, and what their situation is, basically the Wiz are trying to make it to respectability under new ownership. Hinrich has a bad contract "but" the Wiz need the help, tossing in the #17 is just a Rileyesque move to clear just a bit more space. So the Bulls trade a solid NBA starter for...nothing. Only in the NBA..
Eh, 3 minutes until John Wall is selected. Anyone think there will more trades of vets for dummy stuff like #2 picks?
I disagree. Wes Johnson doesn't have the handles/ability to create to be a 20 ppg scorer imo. He will be a very good player though, I think the Shawn Marion comparison is spot on.
Cousins to Sactown My guess, Monroe or Aminu to GS...it should be Monroe but knowing how Nellie likes a roster full of SF's it could be aminu
The Marion comparison is off. Wes isnt nearly as explosive as a leaper and has a much better jumper. His only offensive weakness is he has to get better at getting to the hoop; he settles too often to be a very good catch and shoot guy. Think more along the lines of Paul Pierce/Bernard King. The guy can fill it up.
I'm not seeing the Paul Pierce similarity. Paul Pierce is a very strong, crafty player, Johnson isn't. Wes can defend 4 positions, gets a lot of blocks and steals, can leap, not great at creating his own shot, and has average handles. He's a better shooting Shawn Marion imo.
No need to feel so down. Wes Johnson is a very good player. Not going to be a great scorer, but the guy will be a good one, and a terrific defender. Personally, I was hoping the Nets would take Johnson. If they did, it's possible you'd be sitting with Andre Iguodala right now.
Wes is certainly a strong crafty player. He can play inside and out. If you watched syracuse this year you saw him post up vs Pitt and Georgetown trapping defenses. Defensively hes more Marion...offensively no way. Watch videos of Pierce when he left Kansas.
Not really, they'll land back in the lottery because of picks like that. Very overrated player with little offensive game from what I have seen
Pacers should be looking at a PG or Cole Aldrich take paul george...guess there could be something to those granger rumors posted earlier unless they plan on playing Danny at SG cause George is a SF.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. Johnson won't be anything special on offense. Just doesn't have the handles and ability to create.
