Luck also had a lost fumble.

But yes, Tannehill has had equally bad stat lines. In his first and 2nd year he didn't often throw INTs, but when he did, they came in bunches. His first game he had no TDs and 3 INTs. Same thing in his 9th game. In his 20th game (week 4, yr 2), he had 1 TD, 3 INTs, and a lost fumble. Game 32 (week 17, yr 2) had one TD and 3 INTs.

Which is why they are all blocked. Life is too short to waste time reading such worthless drivel. They are entitled to their opinions, but I am entitled to not have to read it.

Too small a sample size still, but a WAY better start than the 5.17 ypa he had after two games last season. It helps that his yards per completion is up a full yard 11.3 vs 10.3, and he is managing to improve his completion % at the same time. Currently his net yards per pass attempt is up half a yard from last year as well (6.34 vs 5.83), and that includes a 39 yd sack.

He just needs to keep it up over the whole season, or hopefully like last year, get immensely better from week 4 onward.

I would love to see an average rusher stat. Like, in X game, the opposing defense rushed an average of X rushers per play, and maybe even see it broken down by situation. Watching the Colts last night, what stood out to me, was how many times I saw the Jets rushing 5-7 guys. People talk about Luck having a bad oline, as bad as the Dolphins, and that may be true. However, I almost never see teams having to rush more than 4 guys to beat our oline, and put pressure on Tannehill.

    WOW,
I'm gonan say this. I think Luck is a good QB, still has lots of potential. I like his game and the way he plays.
But if He and Wilson arenn't the two most overrated QB's in the NFL than I don't know who is.

WE can talk about how Luck has had a bad start to this season, but maybe we should also mention that he has MORE turnovers than anyone in the league since 2014!!
    like all of last season

I think I know the problem, many of you are not aware that Luck threw for like 4700 yds and 40 TDs last year on his way to the AFC championship game.

He did that completing fewer passes than Tanne.

This Luck hatred is ludicrous, whatever he does has no bearing on what Tanne does any damn way, you can go pull bad games from Troy Aikman and Joe Montana and say SEE... SEEEEE.. look, OMG... he missed a wide open WR, I guess he sucks too.

It would be just as relevant, or should I say irrelevant.

most turnovers in the league since last year..still doing the same thing this year.

THere were pages and pages of ppl complaining about tannehill and the 2 NEAR interceptions he threw in a game we won yet when its Luck it gets glossed over

Not only do I question alot of you if you are REAL Dolphins fans but I question if you are real FOOTBALL fans or just like to follow the stories and watch boxscores.

Aaaaaaand...you continue to miss the point. NO ONE is hating on Luck. NO ONE. You guys point at Luck as who Tannehill should be, and as a QB who is light years better than Tannehill. Yet, when HIS teammates let him down, you give him a pass. You aren't being remotely rational or fair in your evaluation. You have a preconceived notion about both QBs, I would bet money that you were very high on Luck when he came out, and were probably not very high on Tannehill when we drafted him. So, when Tannehill struggles, you point it out, in an attempt to continue to prop up your preconceived notion about Tannehill. Yet, when Luck struggles, you gloss over it, ignoring that you hammer Tannehill for the same stuff, and blame everything on his teammates, because your preconceived notion is that Luck is an elite QB.

It's ridiculous, and it's astounding how intellectually dishonest you guys continue to be. Even more dishonest, that you attempt to turn everything around, and try make those of us trying to be fair in evaluating our guy, out to be the ones twisting the facts.

I'm sorry dude, but do you have a mirror, I've seen you guys make comments like this and I'm just laughing at the computer screen.

You all say that me and others here are Tanne haters, when we have all said that he is better than most QBs, so who is being intellectually dishonest? Or just plain slaving to your own agenda.

You guys are sooo caught up in this rationalized view of Tanne that you can't see what's staring you in the face.

It stretches the field and changes momentum.

It's hard to put on 10-12 play drives all game without tiring out your players as the season wears on, not to mention it requires a level of perfection this offense isn't coming close to sniffing.

Last year at the end of the first half week 15 or 16, Mike Wallace against the Patriots. Now he has a 7.5 YPA so far this year.

What does the 50 number signify exactly? How many attempts since he threw a completion over 47 yards?

And I assume you are also aware that it's not relevant to even compare them, because they have different sets of skilled players receiving those passes with completely different skillsets than our own WR's last year who were very... mediocre. Although, maybe not, because you just made that comparison?

This whole thing is completely stupid. The only way, any one could actually compare this, is if you stuck Tannehill into Indy's offense, and Stuck Luck into ours, in exactly the same situations for those 16 games last year. Of course, we all know that's completely impossible, so it makes the whole argument completely irrelevant, stupid, and pointless.

I'm pretty sure I'm done with visiting this thread. It's just constant trolling and arguing points that can't be proven either way over, and over, and over again by the same individuals, with the same agenda's.

We can sit here all season and debate one qb's numbers versus another, and even that is pointless. Different offensive philosophies, different opponents, different WR's, different OL's, different teams in general, everything is different, which makes it impossible, and completely pointless to compare one to another because we're never making a fair or common comparison, because the variables are always different. Stats are meaningless. However, everyone just keeps throwing out their own opinions on this as its fact to win the internet war over Ryan Tannehill. It's getting kind of pointless.

Hope so. These were two of the worst defenses last year. Maybe they improved so much they kept our offensive Juggernaut in check.

I was feeling a little rambunctious last night in my postings. I would say comparing Tannehill to Henne is a whole lot closer comparison than the posts claiming Tannehill is on par or better than Wilson and Luck. I mean, c'mon...each have led their teams to 11 win or more in each season, combined they have a 69-31 regular season record, 9-5 playoff record, three trips to the conference championship game, two SB, and one SB victory.

I actually think the way Tannehill and Henne attack a defense is very similar. I do see Tannehill as a better QB overall. But neither guys are good at winning games when they are on the line.

Here is the more important stat regarding GWD...Tannehill has led Miami to 5 in his tenure, the opposing QB has led their team to 12 during Tannehill's reign. When the game is on the line Tannehill is not able, at least to this point, step his game up other than the occasional occurrence.

And c'mon, you are basing your stat on a measly 10 passes and how many of those games turned out to be wins?

Back at you, when he is trailing with less than 4 minutes to go his QB rating 64.1 on 115 passes and it gets much worse with less than 2 minutes to with a QB rating of 54.5 on 48 attempts. Captain Comeback he is NOT.

I agree. It is easy to get caught up in the extremes when responding to posts in which Tannehill can do no wrong, it is everyone else's fault, he is better than all other QBs, etc...I am sure part of my exuberance is I bought into the preseason hype of how good the offense looked and how much Tannehill improved. I usually take a wait and see approach, but for some reason I bought into it this year.

I actually think the grey is exactly where Tannehill and the offense are. On the good side, Tannehill doesn't turn the ball over and on the flip-side doesn't make big plays or step up his game when it is on the line...8-8 very grey.

You seems to always reasonable in your posts and I appreciate that.

    Only for the misinformed.

Because, by that logic... Luck and Wilson suck because they're both 0-2, but some are defending them as better than Tannehill because of past performance, which is irrelevant because well, it's the past. I mean, if we're talking just about wins and losses here..

    Again, more pointless discussion...

So exactly how do you measure the value of a QB? From what I get from the posts I've read of yours, the QB seems to be pretty insignificant or just another member of the team.

Teams are giving $20 mil+ per season to QBs they think actually make a positive difference in the Win column and releasing QBs that don't.

Dolphins fans have changed it up from "Super Bowls and wins don't determine how good your QB is when the team around him isn't good enough" for Marino to "the QB needs to find a way to win and overcome his teammates no matter what" when discussing Tannehill.

The truth is, anyone who thinks that wins are not a part of what is expected from QBs doesn't understand the basic principals of football.

    It's football 101.

Wins are what you expect from your TEAM.

Sure, the QB plays an important role, but his isn't the most important. Without Baltimore's defense years ago, are you saying dilfer did everything to win them that Super Bowl? No. He did just enough to get by, while the defense dominated everyone. Just one example of many...

Football is often referred to as the ultimate team sport for many reasons... The QB position is important, no doubt, but you can still win without an elite one if other area's of the team are good. Hell, look at the Jets last night... 5 turnovers won them that game a hell of a lot more than Fitzpatrick did.

Maybe you should go back and check those basic principals of football you speak of...

Dear god, this is soooooo beyond ridiculous.

This is a team sport with 22 players on the field at a given time. If wins and losses were a QB stat, then what in the hairy **** is the point of having 21 other guys on the field?

Tell you what, explain why its a bad idea to fire everyone from the GM to the coaching staff to all the non QBs on a given team and replace all of them with the first 50 people you see at your local Wal-Mart.

If you prove you understand why that's a bad idea, then we'll continue this conversation.

So what you are saying here is that Tannehill had the lead 12 times before the defense choked away the game?

now are you trying to prove everyone's point or argue against it?
