I disagree. When Clark is out of the line up the D still is consistently good, however the year Troy went down to injury the defense struggled.
agreed, but he's a general when he's out there and a huge factor in blitz packages. Teams have to adjust offense around TP, however Clark does not get that kind of respect IMO.
Well, Clark is a little overshadowed behind TP, I get your point. He means a lot to that secondary in all the calls that he makes and the communication that is a must. But we can't honestly compare him to the future hall of famer can we?
1) Thats not Ernie Sims, its OG Rob Sims. Steelers are still staying 3-4. Harrison at 34, before he renegotiated....Sims is one of the top guards last year. 2) If you look at Timmons PFF rating its pretty average. I know Okung has a below average rating but 5 sacks, 3 hits and 24 pressures in 450+ pass attempts is on par with some of the better tackles in the league playing in front of blah QB's. 3) Roy Miller = 0 technique NT. Hes sure as hell not a 4-3 over tackle. 4) Hughes has a starting job in Indy under Pagano in real life. I feel pretty good we were right about Hughes here. Never felt comfortable with him as a 4-3 rush end...big year for him I think. Love what he can bring to the table.... Thanks for the input....Theres still plenty more coming....
I'm not saying he's a HOFer but I am saying that he's been very effective and he's being overlooked. He's bailed out Polamalu many times yet no one says anything.
I watch him pretty regularly...his style of play is different then everyone elses yet even on a conventional grading system like PFF he grades out better then everyone else at either safety position
He takes a lot of risks and if Steelers are playing a good QB that takes advantage of it it will hurts. Saw Tebow do it to him in the play off game. Still would rather have Troy than most other safeties.
1 Tebow is not a good QB. He shouldnt even be playing QB.....in the CFL. 2. Tavares drew a +3.1 rating by PFF in that game and only a -0.7 rating in pass coverage which basically equates to maybe 2 blown plays all game. Every player has issues. The only perfect players ever were Jerry Rice and Dan the Man in his prime
I always wonder what Marino would've been like if he ever got over his ego and allowed our offense to be more multi-dimensional. Would that have changed anything?
I know Tebow isn't a good QB so what does that say about Troy to be getting faked out by Tebow? He is still top 5 FS in the league.
I'm working on revamping my defense to become more physical. I doubt he'll end up being my starter (although, him and Sands are my only safeties on my roster right now lol) but I like his physicality. He's exciting.
For the large fee of one 6th rounder you could change all that with the ole on his last leg waiting to be put out of his misery Polamalu.
I know...I guess your sarcasm detector was off or maybe the alarm wasnt loud enough for a 6th round pick you could talk about acquiring Polamalu. Nothing will actually happen but you can talk about it...to yourself
