I consider myself a calm guy. But I don't need a redneck Ebert and Roper behind me describing the action onscreen. That's why I have eyes. It was excruciating. I'll probably check it out again with my wife sometime this week.

Hancock - 3/5 - Started off great, then completely changed course mid-movie. Hated the ending, loved the beginning. Terrific concept, too bad it wasn't executed.

There Will Be Blood - 5/5 - Powerhouse performance from Daniel-Day Lewis. Chilling, and the ending was insane. Started slow, but this was worth the wait.

Wanted - 5/5 - The reviews call this a cross between Fight Club and the Matrix, with a bit of Office Space thrown in for good measure. I'd say that's a fair comparison. It's over-the-top, so be warned going in.

I made it through five minutes of Time Code (four-way split-screen movie) before the damn thing started skipping. Seeing as it was hard to follow anyway, I said "screw it."

Hancock, yes there was a twist, but the movie was very enjoyable. I liked the ending, though it was a far cry from what I expected.

You liked the ending ? It left too many questions for me. Is she now a mortal or still an immortal with powers ? If she is still an immortal how can she remain with Ray and not do good deeds like Hancock ? If she is mortal can Hancock now come around her and will there be the same unstoppable attraction ?

The story also had a couple of weak points too. The interacial coupling of the Smith & Theron characters would never have happened early 1930's Miami. This was part of the old South, and it would have been impossible for him to have gotten those tickets to see Frankenstein back then. Yes he was beat up, but no mention of why was ever given, and that was a perfect time to bring up a racial angle in the story and drive home the fact that interracial coupling is not a bad thing, like it was considered back then. But to just gloss over the racial controversy seems to me to be disingenuous and actually insulting to the audience.

I didn't know Will Smith was African American!

It was an entertaining movie, I took it at face value.

As far as the ending, he resides in New York, her in LA, so I guess their powers are fine, and it seems that he has become a better man and decided to let her live her life and be happy. I thought one of them was going to give their lives so the other could live, which IMO would have made a better ending, inappropriate for the feel of the movie, but definitely better.

Bro, trust me, that would have NEVER happened in Miami in the 1930's. If I am not mistaken, the Jim Crow Laws prevented such relationships, and Florida was, and parts of it remain part of the Deep South. It was against the law for a white female and black male to be seen socially in public.

So in light of that, it was a ridiculous story plot. Writers need to come up with more credible story lines, unless others are willing to just let historic facts fade and "myth" become the truth. :pity:

Saw Hancock on Saturday. It was decent. It could have been very, very good had the writing been better. There was alot of potential for this movie to be a huge hit, but it just sorta flamed out after 30 minutes into the movie.
