via OK's twitter so no Jeff Fuller, i hope Burnett is ok, he is hobbled by that foot, or its just his time to show what he's got, so i'm not sure right now but besides cunningham, every rookie is now on the roster right ?
Fuller is with the eagles iirc. You meant Matthews? Nah he's still here. Could have sworn the eagles signed him after cuts.
Decision not to go for another tailback is questionable when Daniel Thomas just suffered his second concussion in four games, and Reggie Bush's knee is still hindering him. Lamar Miller is the only other true tailback on roster. Marcus Thigpen was used exclusively at slot receiver in preseason and Jorvorskie Lane is a fullback that just fumbled last week.
The week is still young. I wonder if the staff wants see Josh Kaddu under live fire to see if he can make Dansby a potential cut in the off-season(strictly due to cap concerns) The Burnett situation is just the opportunity.
In a vacuum, I like the Kaddu promotion, because I think he's a guy who has the potential to be a great player; a starter at the position. You're right, though. Our depth at runningback is scary. Perhaps more moves on the way.
Daniel Thomas' injury comes at a bad time. With the Packers losing Cedric Benson to an 8 week injury, they might have actually been interested in Thomas. The Dolphins wouldn't want to do that trade right away of course, but neither would the Packers as they'd like to see what Alex Green has to offer especially after running well last week. But during the bye week the Dolphins could have Jonas Gray available for the roster if they want him and if he's healthy, and if Alex Green doesn't look so hot and the offense is still foundering they might be more tempted by Thomas. And with Matt Cassel's injury, trading Matt Moore to them seems like a no-brainer, but you can't force them to be interested. Moore knows that offense and performed well in it last year, and he'd have Dwayne Bowe to throw to in addition to some other nice weapons like Dexter McCluster...but still, can't make them be interested. Seems the Dolphins feel one week was enough for Jabbar Gaffney. He's working with the 1st string today. He'll likely play a big role this weekend and from here to the rest of the season.
Way under cap because of the contracts ending after this season, right? Not accounting for possible resignings like Long, Bush, Smith and Starks - all of whom should command some very decent money.
This. And there's the part about Karlos Dansby playing quite well but no one really gives a **** about that I guess because eh
I think Kaddu just needs some time on the field and he should be a pretty damn good LB. I'm happy with this for now
Wow I didn't know he suffered a 2nd concussion. I knew he got banged up and left the field last game but I didn't think it was that serious. That sucks, sounds like he doesn't have much of a future in the NFL
This. And I know you like having an Oregon Duck on the roster. I was a little disappointed he didn't make the 53 originally. Though, I have to say Jonathan Freeny stood out to me on special teams in-person at the Bengals game. He can move pretty well.
I do not really know much of Kaddu except what was seen in preseason. I thought he looked raw in preseason, kind of like a large breed puppy. Athletic, but clumsy. He looks like he hasn't quite matured. Certainly long and athletic, though.
I like the kid they signed in his place (Kaddu) on the practice squad, Louis Nzegwu. He was an underrated player for Wisconsin. Good instincts.
Why anyone wants to get rid of one of the best middle linebackers off the best run defense team in the league is beyond me.
