I'm shocked Patrick Peterson lasted till the 11th round and Amendola till the late 4th. Ditto for Cordarrelle Patterson till the 13th, Jacoby Jones 16th, and Dexter McCluster 28th considering Jones is now starting, McCluster in an Andy Reid offense that better utilizes weapons like him, and with return yards factoring in. I'm Hoping Stephens-Howling emerges as a steal of the draft. He was by far Pitt's best looking back against the Giants and seems like a natural fit for their blocking scheme.
I know..... but they still count and make a difference. Jacoby Jones had 160 points last year as Baltimore's #3 WR, good for 30th among all WR's (that's applying this year's settings). McCluster could do that this year under Andy Reid. Percy Harvin was the #1 WR last year until injury. Patterson likely won't make the same impact in the passing game but still- Minnesota is well versed at using an X-factor weapon and will get Patterson his touches (see Percy Harvin who finished 10th in WR scoring as a rookie in '09 using this same format). 2012 WR ppg (based on 20 return yards per 1 point) 1. Harvin, 19.22 2. Calvin, 18.56 3. Cobb, 18.23 4. Marshall, 18.04
Rodgers will be Rodgers, butttttt....we are talking about the clear cut best RB by far vs. a top 3 QB. Bad pick IMO. We've all been there though.
Don't agree. Peterson won't repeat his performance this year. He'll be excellent, but it won't be otherworldly like it was last year.
QB scoring is redonk in this league though. Brees had 711 points I believe under last years scoring settings. Then it was Rogers, Brady, Manning, Romo, Ryan with around 600+.
Peyton Manning will have a better season IMO, also look at Denver's matchups week 14-16. To each their own.
Now that is certainly a possibility. But, with the first pick in the draft, I'm staring at Rodgers or a very old Manning that time is going to catch up with him at some point, and it could be this year. Maybe not. I don't think the point drop off is all that different if both play to their abilities, but one is certainly safer. You win in FF by points you can count on week in and week out.
Ehh I have won 3 times in 3 years (2 different leagues) and the thing I look at first is playoff week matchups...for example Peyton is home vs Tenn and SD those weeks, so I value him more than most. The strategy has been good to me but obviously backfires if you don't make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't take LeSean McCoy over an Adrian Peterson because McCoy plays home vs Detriot week 14, but it's sort of a tie breaker for me. Take Lynch for example he kicks off the playoffs @ SF, so I won't target him in the 1st round.
It's not silly, my record speaks for itself. And it's called MATCHUPS not guarantees...I'd bet on Lynch under 100 at SF more often than not.
Defensive players went early this year, so early in fact that a handful of my targets I planned on taking early myself were already off the board. I'm happy with my draft. My first 11 picks pretty much played out how I was hoping with the exception of a few. Linebackers flew off the board early this year. He was outstanding last year without his 2 stud run blocking guards. I think he'll at least duplicate those numbers, plus he seems to be physically resilient. Although, Charles has massive upside this year and faces a likable schedule so I'm happy provided he can remain healthy.
what's money have to do with good ole competition among long time Dolphins' compadres? That should be enough motivation by itself.
What did you think of Doug Wilson coming out?? Was he a better pick than Trent Richards of the Browns?
I thought it was pretty close but I liked Martin better in the passing game and thought he'd offer better NFL durability. It's funny, I call Doug Martin- Doug Wilson all the time, too.
I was pretty happy with the draft. The only 3 times I got BK'ed were when Newton went like 2 picks ahead of me in round 3 and David Wilson in round 4 when I was undecided between Lacy and Wilson and finally when Nicks went a few picks ahead of me in the 5th. Im cool with how things turned out. I didnt really have too many situations where a player I wanted went within 3 picks of me.
DAVID Wilson is interesting to me. I think Brown was the better runner last year but obviously the young and potentially explosive Wilson will get the first shot. They both put the ball on the ground way too much.
With Wilson theyre going to try and recreate Thunder and Lightning with Wilson as Lightning obviously. Thats what they did at one point with Bradshaw and Jacobs. The thing Wilson could really add is return yards in this format. And keep in mind Tiki Barber nearly fumbled his way out of the league before Coughlin got a handle on that. Im sure if Wilson puts the ball on the ground too much Coughlin will have something to say.
I got Bk'd back to back. Kenny Britt and Gio both went before my selection. I would get put next to Trowa and Todd.
I got most of the players I had planned on taking. The few players I didn't get were T.Y Hilton and Kuechly. I was also going to grab Ronnie Hillman right before he was taken. I took gambles on some of my players like McFadden and Austin.
I really had no plans to take anyone in particular. Just followed my board. I'll be happy with my draft if I win. Sent from my HTC One GE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
