ThePhins Team Survivor

I know some of you remember the old survivor from Finheaven. Well thinking back on how much fun that was, and the fact that I work from home now I've decided I'm going to run my own ThePhins Team Survivor! Since the main forum obviously has it's own form of Survivor the name has to be a little lame but oh well. This game was a complete blast the two times I played it when JT was running it.

So anyways I wanna see who would be interested in playing this. It's two 10 man teams with one captain each. I'll pick the captains based on who I know and who in this thread says they are interested in it. The eliminations are like the TV show so it's pretty simple.

What I'll do is make a challenge for both teams. For the most part the challenges are lax schedule wise, maybe rarely I'll ask for some people to be on at a certain time but I don't expect anything nor do I expect all 10 people to be on at a certain time, and I stress those challenges will be rare. The loser has to vote out someone. Once we get to 9 people it'll be all one team with individual challenges. The final 2 get voted on by the last 7 to determine the winner. The challenges are fun some you have to be pretty crafty but overall it's a lot of fun especially the teamwork stuff.

So if you sound interested and are on the board at least a decent amount I urge you to sign up. When I find captains and a solid amount of people signed up I'll talk to the captains about a draft date but I want to get this going soon! It's really not much of a time commitment a lot of the challenges go on for a couple-few days at a time.

So what I need from you right now if you're interested is to just post on this thread. You can put down any skills or anything you'd like. (I know JT is killer with graphics as an example)

Oh and Mods can play! I'm running this deal and I want everyone who's interested to get in it too! There will be NO favorites.

I'm talking with the staff about a sub-forum based on popularity. I really hope a lot of people are interested and sign up. This game is PERFECT for the offseason.

Well there's a draft but I'm sure it could probably be worked out. Haven't decided on captains though.

 

Sick vs Big E as captains? Would make it pretty interesting I think :)

 

Yup after you signed up we have 5 more spots! If any captains decide to step up we can decide on a day to have the draft. :)

 

Not true. Especially in the beginning. The Captains help organize the troops in the beginning and usually are the ones who decide who the weak links are in the group and tell the rest of everyone to vote em off. At least that's what I did when I was a captain.

I guess if you wanted your team to automatically lose. Usually cutting off the fat is better than taking out the heart :)

 

I really wish the old threads from FH still existed I'd just link those.....

I kinda wanted to keep the challenges a secret but I'll spoil a couple. For the most part I want to keep them a secret until I announce them.


Okay for the first challenge, and I guess this gives everyone a head start on it but oh well. I'll clean up the typing when I make the official challenge but here's two for now.

Each team has to pick a name. Then after you pick a name you need to make a banner/flag/sig for your team, when it's done you'll submit them to me and I'll post them and have the entire board vote on who they like the best. Loser has to vote someone off. I'll give you guys 3 days to do it so no rush.

What happens is the team (or captain) needs to talk to all his teammates to see who has graphic ability. You can take this two ways. You can have multiple people make a banner and decide between you all who has the best chance of winning OR you can decide between everyone in the beginning who the most talented computer artist and have him do it.


Now another challenge I'll have somewhat near the beginning (no two challenges are the same fyi)

I'll throw out about 50 (this is a random number) questions. Ranging from the Dolphins to whatever. I'll do my best to make it hard to google (some will be able to it's just unavoidable I guess) and what I'll do is give you guys 3 days to answer it. The Captain will divy up the questions between your team. What happens is whoever gets the most right wins, and the tiebreaker is decided by who turns it in first. Loser has to vote someone off.

I got more challenges in my head but I really don't wanna spoil anymore than the ones I put out there. Trust me those two challenges are fun but definitely not the funnest I have in store for you. This game is all that the players put into it, it can be very competitive sometimes but it's all in good fun. :)

 

If Buckeye, Phinsrock, and The G Man sign up (hopefully they will after reading my post from today) we'll only need one more person. Badass!

 

Alright man no problem. We're in no huge rush to get it started (I wanna get it going as soon as I can but I'm in no hurry) I still gotta get captains and a draft date....which honestly this is about time to start figuring all of that out. :)
