if you are like me.....
You booze it up rather good on the 31st every year and drink yourself into a stuppor.
In my experience on this earth, I have grown and learned to adapt and prepare my body for this day.
I will share my regiment for this day to help you all to be able to put away as much booze as you can.
it all starts with the Dinner of the 30th.
. You MAY NOT eat any fried foods for Dinner on the 30th. No Dairy products. You are looking to eat as much food that will be easy to pass but do not gorge on it. You are eating for nutrition and preparation on the 30th. Not pleasure.
Eat a Salad with an Oily dressing. No saucy meats..and prefferably something grilled. No Rice or Pasta.
. In the Morning of the 31st, for breakfast, you are allowed Coffee and a Dairy product (milk OR Cheese)..NOT BOTH. You may have grains..but not too much..you are not going for "regular" on this day. You are looking to create a spongy state to your stomach.
recommended Breakfast is Eggs, Hash Browns, and Sausage. Pass on Wheat toast, Pancakes, and Waffles.
No snacking in between meals.
. For Lunch, you take it later than normal since you will be up so late on this day/night. here is where you are gonna trick your body into thinking it must expell all. Since most of us have a normal consumption of grains in the morning and we have refrained from that on this particular day...we are now trying to evacuate all. We are now gonna go heavy on grains and roughage in an attempt to evacuate EVERYTHING from our stomach before we binge.
. BINGE TIME.
Before your first drink at around 9PM..take TWO Extra Strength Tylenols.
Only drink Alcohol from a particular COLOR category. DO NOT drink an ANEJO with a CLEAR. EVER. If You start with Bourbon, you may NOT move onto a Vodka. Bourbon keeps you on the path to Whiskey, Beer and Dark Rums. If you are a lite liquor drinker, any introduction of Beer will cause a severe Hangover.
While drinking...you want to eat fried foods and typical BAR fair. Pizza, Wings, Sandwiches, Pretzels, Chips.
Prior to going to sleep (unless you blackout) take TWO MORE Extra Strength Tylenols.
This will guarantee a weak and soft hangover if ANY at all.
Feel free to share any pre-hangover remedies.

If you are allergic to Tylenol...you may take ANY anti-inflammatory.
But REMEMBER..take it PRIOR to any Alchohol consumption. and at the CONCLUSION.
Not during.alen1 likes this. -
New Years Eve is for amateurs.

thanks section. this is helpful to us youngins and less worthy drinkers alike.
i will add some things if i could.....
--water. if your drinking beer especially, alot of your hangover is from dehydration of the brain. (its gotta be true) i like to chug down multiple multiple big glasses of water right before bed time.
"oh no sick...then i will piss all night"
well then dont drink water douche. and ill be pissing over your body as your lying infront of the can between barf sessions......suit yourself champ.
--pizza. as section mentioned above. bar fair foods are bar fair foods for a reason. they mix and match well with the pissy alcohol your smashing into your gut. pizza is fantastic. its good hot. its good sitting out an hour. its good cold from the fridge. pizza pizza pizza.
--play beer games/hang with alot of people. drinking by yourself, or just with your wife or close family is a recipe for disaster. seriously. hanging with people gets you up, moving around, yelling, arm wrestling, wrestling, taking goofy pictures, sprinting, de-clothing, de-clothing then sprinting, eating more, laughing all taking your mind off and burning off that little "too much" you drank that otherwise would be making you vomit like a super model.

I don't see anything on here about chasing the dragon, crying, masturbating, or taking a suicide dump on your neighbor's front lawn?

I'm convinced some of you guys are professional alcoholics.
My guide to drinking on New Year's eve is to drink an Appletini and go to sleep after the New Year ball drops crying into your pillow about how lonely you are. Its quite wild actually and the next day you wake up absolutely wrecked. :yes:SICK, BigDogsHunt, NaboCane and 1 other person like this. -

lol @ the content generated "Sober College--Not Your Typical Rehab" ad under this thread. Anyone else see it?
To keep in the subject, I was relieved tonight when my husband said he would like to just make dinner and stay in New Year's Eve rather than going to any of the four parties we were invited to. We just got back from skiing and are exhausted. I do appreciate Section's hangover advice. I could have used it many times, though I have always been a fan of one drink, one water...I never planned my eating in my partying days. I am not above using the advice in the future.
I hope everyone is safe New Year's and always. Remember, calling a cab is less expensive than a DUI and more amenable to DUI manslaughter. Not preaching, but in my years I have seen many people fall to both extremes :cry:dolphan117, TiP54, Section126 and 3 others like this. -
Taking Tylenol before and after drinking not a good idea. Unless you never want to wake up.
Best bet is to drink water and vitamin. You get a hangover because your body dehydrated.SICK, dolfan32323, JimToss and 2 others like this. -
um
you could also not drink nearly as much as you had in previous years.
cheaper all the way around and you don't have to worry about the booze or the tylonol.
but who the hell is gonna do that? -

Gingerale, chips, and crackers help settle your stomach if you feel like puking or your colon is about to explode.

Don't drink in drive and be safe.
I'll be in another timezone and will miss the New Years parties. So drink for me haha.jetssuck likes this. -
Not so much the chips; too fatty, they turn your stomach upside-down. Also, remember - eat before drinking, not so much after.Frumundah Finnatic, SICK and jetssuck like this. -

Tylenol before and after drinking? I'm pretty sure that is dangerous... has it worked for you?

Before you go out, buy a bottle of gatorade.
Poor half of it out and fill the rest with water and put it in the fridge. When you get back from your night of drinking, take the bottle out of the fridge and shake it up. Drink up. Supposedly the gatorade isn't so concentrated when mixed with water so it hydrates you A LOT faster...
That's what some track athletes here at University of Northern Iowa told me and it hasn't failed yet.anlgp, jetssuck and BuckeyeKing like this. -

I am as paranoid about my health as anybody and I have consulted about this with my doctor.
There is nothing wrong with it. We are talking YEARS of this being done by MANY in my circle. You should not take it however, if you have chronic liver diesese and are a DAILY binge drinking alcoholic. (That is what Dr. Gupta at CNN says)
BTW..what do you think those "hangover prevention" pills do? same thing. Better marketing.Frumundah Finnatic, jetssuck and Samphin like this. -
Another thing you can do before bed..is to take A couple of multi Vitamins and take down a bunch of gatorade.
accomplishes much of the same. -

I had Chipotle for lunch today with the thought of padding my stomach in mind. :D
As a Viking well versed in the areas of drunken pillaging, I'd like to add my two cents to the thread. While not as well-rounded as the Cubano or the Irish in this thread (and you know who you are), I still think I can hang with the best of them.
1) I'm 30, which means my liver doesn't respond as well to abuse as it used to. There was a time I could drink gut rot all night and wake up fine. Those days, unfortunately, are in the rear view mirror. I find that taking a pair of Milk Thistle pills help me to process large volumes of alcohol and bad food through my stomach. I try to take them 1-2 hours before I drink, and then take another pair before I go to bed.
2) The water thing is a must. I try to drink at least 8 to 16 ounces of water before I crash. When I can remember I have at least a 32 ounce G2 waiting for me to drink in the morning. Nothing seems to help my hydrate faster.
3) There are those evenings when I just pillage just a little too hard. I've found that my body hates both Asprin and Tylenol. I've taken them so much I think I've built up a tolerance. Instead I go for Alieve (Naproxen Sodium) taken either right at bed time or first thing in the morning if absolutely needed.
Most importantly for me, if you're going to be drinking either go to friends and crash (which is what I'm doing) or give the keys to someone else. I've known too many cases of folks getting too drunk and then getting on the road. Do yourselves a favor and hand the keys to someone else.
With that warning out of the way, I hope each of you bastards has a very drunken New Year. I'll see you all back on the site tomorrow.Section126, NaboCane, TiP54 and 1 other person like this. -
All my advice being the irishman among many is this:
hang onto a blade of grass. You won't fall off the earth.
-and-
God invented alcohol so the irish wouldn't rule the world. -
