Let’s start with the offense (The one we thought would be different):
QB: Tannehill – not the type of progression I was hoping for. He still turns the ball over far too much for my liking and his accuracy can be scattered at time. But, a big difference for me as opposed to our other failings is I feel he needs a change in coaching. The kid has spent his past 6 years with Mike Sherman and Zac Taylor. Obviously by the play calling and decision making Sherman isn’t a very intelligent play calling coordinator. The fact that these two coaches have been with him for six straight years and don’t cater to his strengths or work on his weaknesses is appalling. Strengths: Powerful arm, athleticism, mobility, and proper build. Weaknesses: stares down receivers, spotty accuracy, timid, and lack of pocket awareness. We know he has a powerful arm that much can be said. But when you line Wallace up split wide right all game on an island when Tannehill struggles throwing deep to his right… well that is something coaching should know. Athleticism…where are the rollouts, and play action (oh wait we can’t run) additionally it’s like they programmed him to be a statue. After that pick on Monday, he had a clear path to run it in and it’s like the staff has made him into a upright QB. Staring down receivers is something we know he needs to work on, that with the lack of time in the pocket can lead to quick decisions and locking onto a target. Accuracy falls down to his footwork and rhythm. Pocket awareness concerns me the most. I know the line is spotty but he needs to learn to step up or bail out and extend a play. We saw much more of the extensions of plays last year and not so much this year. I don’t want him to be Wilson or RG III and leave himself open to hits but I do want him to use that 4.5 speed to make a play here and there.

Bottom Line: Let’s see how he finishes the year. But, in my mind there are many things to build off of and more refinement needed. Getting a coordinator/coach that specializes with QB’s would be ideal for Ryan. Still, if a new regime comes in they might learn from the Weeden mistake in Cleveland and pick their own QB.
RB: Miller – poor guy, plain and simple. Rattles off two stellar weeks of 100+yards and then rushes for zilch. True at times should he bounce it inside as opposed to east/west. But his blocking has helped him out zero in some games. Additionally, the play calling and RB rotation does him no favors. Not sure if he is the #1 back we need but he is a back who is a game changer with his speed. When the rare occasion pops up that we create a hole he hits it with a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] gear few have.
Thomas: you must go down on Sherman on a weekly basis because no one in their right mind would give your sad excuse for a RB a** 10-12 carries a game. The moment this guy is off our team will make for a much better unit.
Gillislee: Can’t be much worse than Thomas…but this staff doesn’t play rookies despite their superior talent due to a lack of experience? Look at the Patriots they play undrafted rookies as starters and do you know what? They perform and have their learning moments but year 2 is much better without the learning curve our rookies will have.
Thigpen: you stink too. Not that you run the ball at all but KR/PR you’ve become a real knuckle head with your choices.
Bottom Line: Miller is worth keeping as a rotation option (maybe they can use his speed in the passing game). Thomas please falls down some stairs. Gillislee maybe you’ll see the field when were 5-10 in Week 17. Thigpen go to Canada. We need a bruising type back (Mike Tolbert type) who can pass protect would be ideal through FA or Draft.
WR: Wallace – Has he been disappointing? Yes. Inconsistent? Absolutely. Misused? Most definitely. One thing that makes me ponder is why spend so much money on a playmaker you are unwilling to utilize correctly. Lining him up on the right side is mistake #1 (Tannehill throws better deep to his left). Leaving him Split Wide right is pointless it just leaves him on an island. Move him around, in the slot, motion. Figure out creative ways to get him the ball. But, no excuse his lack of effort on some plays brings to light his issues. He is not a Marshall type receiver, but he is a take the top of the defense threat.

Hartline: regression is a big word for me. I love Hartline and what he brings to the team but he cannot get separation to save his life. Every catch is him either toe-tapping or falling to the ground. In the rare chance he is upright he is tackled within two yards. Yes, we just signed him but I really wouldn’t mind moving him for a pick or player. What he brings is not much different than Matthews or Gibson.
Gibson: impressed when he was playing hope he can return healthy and keep up the productions from the slot.
Matthews: Like what I have seen and did as well last year. Amazed to me a coach from GB only has 4 wr’s on active roster for half the season with only 3 with significant playing time. This kid can play outside or inside and is very physical which we need. Lacks breakaway speed or large frame but he makes the catches Wallace can’t make and the power Hartline doesn’t have with the ball in his hands.
Bottom Line: Wallace we signed for $60 mil, he is a game breaker we just need the right minds in place to come up with a “consistent and creative” game plan to use him. Hartline great teammate but really is not better than a solid receiver. Gibson pending his recovery was doing solid work in the slot and good chemistry with THill. Matthews keep building off your momentum and hopefully next regime will notice and use him in four wide sets. Plain and simple we are lacking a big-body receiver with adequate speed. Wallace isn’t a #1 alpha receiver. But pair him with a possession guy who has size I feel they will feed off each other. I know he has been disappointing but looks like Kenny Britt will be available this offseason and change of scenery may be the key to reviving a once promising career.
TE: Clay – started off like a bullet but has since been kind of a dud. I’ve seen some critical drops the past two games, one mainly that ball against Cincy where THill floated it right over the safety’s shoulder and right out of Clay’s hands. Don’t get me wrong I have been more than pleased with his production but I still do not feel he is a elite TE but still don’t think he is in the Heath Miller, Kyle Rudolph category. He is a great H-Back/Flex type guy. Having him with#1 TE could create matchup nightmares.
TE: Egnew – has really come around and while he is more of a FB than a TE I am impressed with his improvement. I’d still like the staff to work with him on route running and receiving as his frame is an O-Coordinators dream.
TE: Sims – he might have two balls thrown to him all year. One was a game winner so kudos for that but why don’t we target him at all on short distances or in the red zone. He is a load to bring down. Has done well for the most part blocking an dI think with proper coaching he can be an old school type of TE who blocks, grinds out the tough yards.
Bottom Line: We don’t have a true #1. Clay has been solid for the most part but let’s see if he finishes strong. Egnew done well as a FB/TE hybrid but not much value in the passing game. Sims I think can develop well but hasn’t gotten a chance besides blocking. We need a true TE who can line up on the line block for running downs and run good route and catch the ball. We have Clay who can line up split and beat a Saftety/CB but he isn’t a good in-line blocker and isn’t a tall target. We have Egnew who has improved his blocking and has ideal size but doesn’t run great routes and suspect hands. Sims who is a good blocker with large size but is a little slower in route running and hasn’t gotten opportunities. I’d entertain brining Keller back as he would’ve helped but he still isn’t the complete TE we need. Still, we have much bigger and pressing needs that TE. Will say Dan Campbell might be the only coach besides Kacy Rogers worth a damn on this staff. A guy to monitor if he can get his act together is Fred Davis may come cheap in FA and has ideal size and athleticism, just needs proper coaching and discipline.
OL: Haha where to start with this group. Try and keep the player breakdown short and sweet but bottom line will get my point across.
LT/RT: Martin – kid got bullied and couldn’t stick up for himself. Obviously he has bigger problems than we anticipated and it boiled over. Even when he played he never made me feel comfortable. Funny thing is he might have been a better guard than Tackle but our staff is so inept they wouldn’t be able to see it. Let me state this though. I highly doubt he would be welcome back or the Dolphins would take him back. But in no way do you just cut him. He is a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round pick from two years ago. There are teams with structures strong enough to make sure he’d fit in. You trade him for a pick or very least and adequate lineman in return.
LT: McKinnie – surprisingly solid since he has come over. Depending on the draft/FA he might be worth a 1year deal. I definitely can say he has made an improvement from the blind side sacks THill was taking for first six weeks. Still, let’s see how he finishes the year as we know he isn’t the most driven player in the world.

LG: Incognito – scumbag who is overrated. He wasn’t playing that well to begin with and with his contract up I don’t think he’d return. Never wish for a player’s career to end but this SOB shouldn’t be allowed into a locker room again.
LG: Garner – you’re always there when we need you. But, usually when we need you it aint a good thing. Good backup but never a starter. Hopefully he can hold strong.
C: Pouncey – probably the only returning OL starter in 2014. Can you imagine that for a team that has invested so much in the OLine that past 5 years will have to replace 4 starters in one offseason. Pouncey is a All-Pro type player but he hasn’t played to that caliber. It is very difficult too when you’re line mates are as useful as a swinging door. Still, guy has so much talent but he too has character concerns as I know his connection with Hernandez and his closeness with Incognito. Hopefully, he can become the right kind of leader unlike Incognito.
RG: Jerry – this should mark the final season of Extreme Makeover: John Jerry addition. Guy just isn’t very good but I bet he will catch on and become a solid player just as our luck always works. Always thought he’d make a better tackle than guard but hey why fix something that’s broken right, Joe?
RT: Clabo – thought he was going to be one of the underrated signings of the offseason. Well, we know how that turned out. Always should be wary of when a team releases a player who has been consistent for several years. Reason? Well, a team who has seen him every practice/game for 8 years can see when a player is in decline. Maybe we should too. Still, guy shows up and plays hard can’t fault him for that.
Bottom Line: Don’t think any unit in the NFL has taken more flak for their performance on/off the field. And it is certainly warranted. A team who spent the money we did this offseason has the talent to be a playoff team but this unit is costing us when it matters most. Whether is 2 or 6 sacks neither is acceptable but more importantly it’s the timing they are occurring. I feel like every game we are close in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] quarter comes a costly sack. Part can be blamed on the QB and not getting rid of the ball or moving up in the pocket but it CANT happen and continues too. The only real change we made was a trade for McKinnie and it has worked. Sad thing was that Martin prior to him was not the biggest problem. Our problem is we are trying to be a zone team with two guards who cannot pull. Another big problem is we have players who are being put out of position. Jerry has played well in the past at Tackle but we refuse to give him a legit shot there. Dallas Thomas our rookie was an All-SEC guard and a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] round pick. I don’t believe he has been active for one game, and best part is we played him at RT all preseason where he was owned. Here’s a clue Jim Turner, he was moved from Tackle to Guard at Tennesee because he was superior on the interior of the line. But, hey forget coaches who’ve known the player for 4 seasons. Another who never plays is Danny Watkins. Yes, I know he was not very good in Philly but he was a 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round pick for a reason cause of talent. Maybe with the right coaching he could improve. Plain and simple, hopefully brining in a solid staff they can utilize some of the pieces already in place so we don’t have to wholesale shop for our line. Pouncey will be back, and hopefully we play Thomas at guard his natural position. Besides that LT, 1 if not 2 G’s, and a RT are needed. Should be fun but hopefully Ireland isn’t calling the shots.
Now onto Defense which for their talent and league wide respect has been the most disappointing. My biggest issue is the change in personnel and scheme. Kevin Coyle was regarded as a DB specialist, and I can agree our CB play has improved not so sure about our safety play. I think one the biggest issues I have is we have better personnel for 3-4 and Coyle is loyal to players who are inferior in talent.
DL: I consider our DL coach Rogers to be one of the best in the NFL but I have been very disappointed in the lack of difference making this unit has made. Don’t get me wrong our Interior guys have been beasts but again besides Wake no consistent pass rush from anyone.
Wake: battle through injuries this year which are noticeable. But, when he has played he is the same old guy who lives off intensity and a non-stop motor. Additionally, he has become more of a vocal leader. My hope is we can be playoff relevant before he exits his prime.
Vernon: the guy hustles his *** off. He has done some good things and some bad things but nothing spectacular. Nothing that he has shown me on the field leads me to believe he should be the starter and let alone a 3 down player. He cannot set the edge in the run game and its apparent. Just this week I saw Odrick move back out to DE because we couldn’t stop TB running game. Still the guy has use as a situational pass rusher and rotation guy. He still is a better fit in 3-4 OLB scheme.
Jordan: he must wake up asking, “Why in the world did they pick me, if they never use me?” Coyle’s comments yesterday make it so apparent that our staff has no idea how to properly play to our players strengths or scheme for them. Every time this guy is on the field he makes a difference. Granted it isn’t the 14 sacks Von Miller had but whether its tipping a ball or dropping in coverage he is around the ball. Still we don’t play him over the Vernon’s and Shelby’s of the league. He played 9 freaking snaps Monday. If we can bring in a 3-4 scheme with a new staff and he adds some strength he could be an All-Pro.
Shelby: he has not business playing as much as he does but he works his tail off. No reason to get rid of him but no reason to hold onto him over another player.
Odrick: he has really come into his own this season as a DT. Yes he is a DT, not a 4-3 DE. Still this is a guy who could really excel in 3-4 DE scheme. Think of Wilkerson for the Jets. Both guys were 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round picks the only real difference between them is their schemes. The Jets set him up for success our staff has him playing 2 different positions in a given game. He is a very good pass rusher from the inside and plays very well against the run.
Solai: his usual self with great run stopping ability. Never been much of a pass rusher but has been able to bat down a few passes. Being a pending FA I do not want to lose him. If we switch back to a 3-4 he is a top 5 NT in the league and making that transition without him would be quite difficult.
Starks: believe he is the #2 DT ranked by PFF. In a contract year, this man is about to get $$$. Good for him too. Sad thing is I feel like all the distractions and disrespect from our FO won’t even have him consider us as an option. Still Starks has excelled in both 3-4/4-3 and entering 30 he still has tread on the tires.
Bottom Line: This is year after year our best and most consistent unit. Still, we have not taken the step from very good to Elite. Reason being? Not enough sacks. We drafted a #3 overall DE/OLB pass rusher only to play him 9 plays a game and half of those are dropping back in coverage. Not sure if Rogers just believes in Coyle or doesn’t voice his opinion but I expected much more variety and scheme changes to confuse offenses. What this team really needs is to get back to 3-4, as I believe that is the superior Defense in the NFL today. Plus our roster dictates it. Wake can play both. Jordan was always considered a 3-4 OLB. Vernon is undersize to be a 4-3 DE but has athleticism to be 3-4OLB. But with the 3-4 that means we need 3 strong interior lineman. Well, we have them but 2 are pending FA’s. If we do make the change and we can only keep one, my choice is Solai. The reason is elite NT are pretty rare to find and the guy is as good as a run stopper as it gets. But, if by some miracle we can resign all 3, a front 5 of Wake, Odrick, Solai, Starks, and Jordan can be scary with right coaching.
LB: If it wasn’t for the OL I’d say this unit has been the most disappointing.

Ellerbe: who are you? Like really, the player that was reminiscent of a mini-Ray Lewis all last postseason we haven’t even caught a peak at. I have yet to see one game changing play in 9 games. Not even one. We brought this guy in to replace a MLB who yet again didn’t make game changing plays. Sad thing is Dansby has had quite a season in AZ. Two things I notice from Ellerbe. 1. Is he looks slow. Did he slack on training after getting his large paycheck or did the Ravens defense just cover up his lack of speed. 2. He is not a physical MLB. He doesn’t take on blocks very often more going around them. So, if he isn’t fast or physical what use is he as the captain of our defense?

Wheeler: heralded by some as the most underrated signing of the offseason. See I never had a problem with Kevin Burnett. Honestly if you asked me to vote him our Dansby off the island it would been Dansby. Wheeler has one good year in Oakland which means in Oakland the defense was on the field 2x as much as their offense and got scored on quite a ton, resulting in more tackle opportunities in garbage time. For a guy lauded on his pass rushing and speed he has done neither to warrant any mention.

Misi: Why did he deserve a extension again? Oh, Emperor Jeff and saving his *** by offering an undeserved extension to one of his former draft flubs. Feel like this guy can never play back to back weeks. Hopefully his contract has an escape clause.

Trusnik: 110% convinced that half the people on this board can play a better OLB than him. Watch some of the angles and missed tackles from Monday and you might piss your pants. Yes, he provides Special Teams help but so can half the backups in the league. Difference is they can also fill in at least satisfactory level.

Jenkins: another rookie who has played decent with an opportunity. But the opportunity are as common as halftime coaching adjustments. Guy was lauded for his coverage ability something the 4 above mentioned struggle at considerably.
Bottom Line: This group is a mess and in need of a massive makeover. We paid two guys significant contracts. I didn’t crunch any numbers but if it were up to me Wheeler is gone the first chance I can unload or trade him. With a scheme change to a 3-4 having MLB of Wheeler/Ellerbe similar players with similar weaknesses would keep me up at night. My hope is getting a solid MLB to pair with Ellerbe like he had with Ray in Baltimore may help. Still our huge issue is depth. We need depth but not just ST’s guys who can actually play when the opportunity is forced upon them.

CB: Group has improved vastly but still lacks depth.

Grimes: he has been the one FA signing that I can say has been phenomenal. The guy is a flat out stud and is going to get paid whether it be here of somewhere else. He has provided the game breaking plays his predecessors could never seem to do. Additionally, he can guard the best WR on the opposing team and limit him. Finally we started having him shadow the Jackson’s, the Green’s of the NFL and it has made an improvement. Priority #1 of offseason would be to sign him to 3-4 year deal.
Patterson: has been a fantastic player when on the field. Key there is “when”. The answer is just about every other week. The guy will play one week aggravate his groin during the game, come out, gut it out make an interception then be out the next week. Not the best formula but at the end of the day he makes a difference. Still, we have him under contract til 2015, but his durability wouldn’t make him worth it in my eyes. Unless he is willing to restructure we need a CB who can play week in and out.

Carroll: started the season solid but he is who we thought he was. A below average player who shouldn’t be more than a 4[SUP]th[/SUP]/5[SUP]th[/SUP] CB and ST. The old regime knew he wasn’t any good but this one still plays him. Due to Patterson’s injuries Carroll has been called on more often than not but he still isn’t very good. Hopefully he will not be around much longer and if he is with far less responsibilities.
Wilson: This guy is my least favorite. Yes, he’ll occasionally stumble into a loose ball or get unblocked for a sack or intercept a ill-advised pass. But at the end of the day the fact this is our nickel corner speaks volumes to our GM and coaches. Reason being is that our GM has not brought in players that can overtake him. Or that our coaches have zero ability to coach up the players that have been brought in. I’ll say it’s a mix of both. Hopefully this guy is gone for good this offseason and good ridden tired of watching him chase after a WR feet.
Taylor: 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round pick. Top 5 CB prospect. 3 game appearances. Yes, he was injured for most of the offseason and that most certainly hurt him. But, how in the world is he not more talented that the two aforementioned guys, who are a 5[SUP]th[/SUP] rounder and 7[SUP]th[/SUP] rounder. This kid was highly regarded out of college even considered a 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round talent. But, for some reason he gets no opportunities to learn. Not like all our CB are shutting down opponents to warrant zero change. The funniest of it all is that they one time he has to play it’s against the Saints in his first appearance. Yeah, that a good confidence booster for the young guy. Hopefully our next staff can coach him up because I’d hate to see another 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round investment go to waste, but we are Phins fans right?
Davis: all the kid did all offseason was make plays. It was like every training camp report was Davis makes another interception or breaks up another pass. Then he got injured. Yes, injuries to our rookies have been themes and have hindered their growth but they don’t even get a chance. Davis reminds me of the daredevil type CB like an Asante Samuel. But, I’ll take just about anything over the combo of Carroll/Wilson. Hopefully with proper coaching and refinement he can become a consistent contributor

Bottom Line: Grimes was a hell of a signing and hopefully we can lock him up. But, not sure he’d want to return to this mess. Patterson, unless he is willing to restructure due to his durability issues he should be cut for cap purposes. Carroll/Wilson should be shown that door the moment that season ends. We invested a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]/3[SUP]rd[/SUP] round pick in two CB’s. Both highly regarded, Davis being a little more of a stretch but still led the NCAA in INTs. I’ll go out on a limb and say that Taylor/Davis will combine for probably 13 combines appearance. Pathetic. My logic is CB was a serious need this offseason. If you are going to make a pick on not just one but two how in the world are they not playing? Talent? That’s the GM. Discipline? Coaching/GM. Improvement? Coaching. All have an answer and it falls on our organization.
Safety: A group that had a great year last year but can say has taken a step back this year.
Jones: The man flat out balled out last year. Well, he got paid and paid very well. Now that he’s paid the production goes out the window. Plain and simple Jones needs to be better. He has taken crappy angels on tackles and coverage’s. Also have not seen the impact plays that we saw last year.
Clemons: He came into his own last year and that warranted him a great 1 year deal. One of which I was a fan of due to the fact I doubted if he was consistent. Well, I can say one thing. He is the only guy on our team who from 15:00 of the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Q til 0:00 of the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] quarter plays his a** off. The guy flies around to the ball. He deserves a long-term deal and he will get it somewhere. Now he isn’t the ball hawk or game breaker but he is consistent and isn’t a liability.

Bottom Line: Need to keep improving and not regressing. For a unit that was argued to be up there with the likes of the Seahawks safeties they haven’t come to play. These guys should be the most in-sync unit on the team from their time together with very little turnover. Jones has the capability to be best at his position and Clemons has the ability to be a Pro Bowler.
ST: keep it sweet and simple.

Fields: You’re the best player we have. Congratulations to you!!! Pretty crappy for us that’s our best player.
Sturgis: keep your head up kid. A couple bad breaks but I got faith you can be every bit the kicker you were drafted to be.
Thigpen: You and Ted Ginn can play together now.
    Denney: keep being you.
    The Main Point:
From a personnel standpoint and the quality on the field we have too much talent to be 4-5. It comes down to coaching, execution, and discipline. Emperor Jeff just picks the groceries and yes he has made many mistakes which is the reason he should’ve been gone years ago. But, Philbin and his staff are the ones who have to cook with those ingredients. Find the best combinations to make the best results. They have FAILED. So let’s recap, what we will most likely need this offseason:
RB- change of pace to Miller. So a power back who runs hard and forward unlike Thomas.
WR- A big bodied target who can be the red zone threat we desperately need.

TE- Inline blocker who can run and catch above average.

LT- Draft has quite a few options for LT. (Matthews, Lewan, Erving, Hurst* my fav) some may even been around late in 1[SUP]st[/SUP] or early 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]. If none of those stick signing McKinnie for a one year could be stop-gap.
LG-Not sure if Thomas was LG/RG at Tenn but regardless he should be played at either one positions. Having a inexperienced rookie/2[SUP]nd[/SUP] year T/G combo does scare me.

RG- If Thomas plays left side then we need a right side. Don’t think Watkins is an answer or Garner for that matter. Someone depending on our Offensive philosophy who is a mauler or can pull. Can certainly find a round 3 or 4, or a solid veteran FA.

RT- too bad Martin had to be a puss puss cause he could’ve developed into a decent RT with coaching. But, we move on. I mean we got to get this line fixed so if it means spending 3 high draft choices on OL then we gotta do it. But, I hope to god we can identify FA’s or late round prospects so we don’t go 1-3 rounds of OL.

DT/DE: Depending on our scheme which I am hoping moves to 3-4 we will need replacements. We very well could lose 2 pro bowl DT who can play in either scheme. I believe Starks is a goner by the way he has addressed his contract situation and by the way he is playing and money he will earn. Solai is a great community member and it is harder for find 3-4 NT. Hope we can sign him.
LB: best case scenario. Switch to 3-4. Now Vernon/Wake/Jordan becomes our OLB. Making Misi and Wheeler expendable. Which is great cause are overpaid and underwhelming. Trade them/cut them whatever you got to do. Ellerbe should get another year as a partner ILB. But that leaves us with a significant need at ILB. Thankfully there are draft options.
CB: Grimes is priority #1. But, we have to develop oru rookies and if we do lose Grimes means we will be shopping for CB’s for 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] consecutive year.
S: get your players to play better. Hopefully we can lock Clemons up or that’s just another need ontop of man.
Let me know your thoughts and possible solutions?

Great analysis. I'm walking away thinking it's going to be impossible reload all the weak positions in one off-season. I think that the WR, TE, and LB positions might benefit from better coaching, but it's going to be hard to find 4 quality O-linemen, a replacement for Carroll, an accomplished RB who can block, and hold on to Grimes and Starks.

I wonder how much retaining Grimes would play into getting a new GM (and even a HC) in place sooner rather than later?

They need to fire Ireland as soon as this report is released naming him as the tool he is....We need a new GM in here YESTERDAY. A guy that can assess keepers and work on contracts before next season. A guy that will let guys like Starks and Sols know that things will be different in the future, so we can retain some of the talent we do have.

    FIRE IRELAND TODAY!!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think we could certainly squeeze a 4th round out of Hartline. Additionally, I agree coaching will help those positions. But, not like they are in dire makeover. I'd state that OL is the only real unit in need of a Extreme Makeover. Ellerbe is more suited for 3-4. Wheeler just isn't the guy I'd want to pair him with. WR, if we can get someone who can command more attention than Hartline on the outside and have some significant size (as we desperately need it). TE we are fine but really need Dion or Egnew to develop as a pass catcher. Yes, we need Ireland fired but whether it's today or the end of the season it isn't going to matter. 1. We would put an interim in place, who'd be advised to wait until offseason for contracts 2. Aponte would have too much power and decision with contracts 3. Would look pretty bad giving a GM an extension after week 3 then fire him week 11. We need a complete overhaul of our team, firing Ireland still leaves Aponte and Philbin. Aponte without Ireland spells TROUBLE as we've heard reports they aren't besties and butt heads so at least with both in place they can check each other.

No way we get a 4th for hartline, right now we'd be lucky to get a 4th for Wallace.. Trading hartline would be crazy, Mathews on the other hand if he continues to play well could bring us a 4th.. I think Mathews could be a solid #2 if giving the chance, hartline the #1 possession wr.. Wallace the 3rd to stretch the field, and that's it... With Wallace out there every down teams will jes take away the deep threat every time but you add him in as the 3rd option in the slot then teams will have to adjust.. This also opens the play book up to more creative play calling.. Unfortunately moving Wallace isn't an option not because our coaches aren't creative but the media storm that would follow will kill what little locker room cohesiveness we have left...
