This is on ESPN right after the Heisman presentation; it's called The U, but apparently it's under the title of a program called 30 for 30, if you're looking for it like I was.

Aw geez, I hope they ran down some of the 80's Canes, like Willie Smith and Danny Sileo and George Mira Jr.
Downtown Eddie Brown as well.Jaydog57 likes this. -

That's Luke Skywalker Alen. -
-
Oh, he's "Luther Campbell"...now, in the 80's it was Luke Skywalker and the 2live crew.
Luke Skywalker got sued by Lucas Film for copyright infringement, he was sued a whole bunch for taking classic songs like "Under the Boardwalk" and making them.err...pretty damn nasty...
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0oALRL7uyY"]YouTube- me so horny[/ame]
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sc_nQiuDN0&feature=related"]YouTube- 2-Live Crew, "Face down *** up"[/ame]
He used to hang out on the sidelines and was just the booster from he**, cars, money, it was all blatant the TV announcers would joke about it.
Those were some fun times my man, fun fun times...:up:gafinfan, Fin-Omenal and Jaydog57 like this. -

The game should have never went into overtime but the Refs didn't want to throw flags on Miami for defensive holding. -
-
At any rate Jimmy Johnson was endorsing this on Mike and MIke this morning, he expects it to be contraversial even stating that the program didnt want many things aired that will. JJ added that it is very acurate.
Excited to watch it, I liked the Canes always sorta have. Hope they get back to the powerhouse they once were. -
These guys were not football players.....
They were super heroes...
If Jerome Brown were alive today and in his prime...we could drop him in Afghanistan and he would find and kill OBL within 2 days.
They told you they would kick your ***..then they kicked your ***...after the game...they asked you how that *** kicking felt.
Some of these things still are raw...I am still bothered by that PI call that cost us #6...but The one moment that always has bothered me is the phantom fumble in Notre Dame.
Cleveland Gary DID NOT fumble...we got screwed right out of a National Championship. -
Dude Miami was outplayed and the same arrogance your speaking of wont allow you to admidt it. I like the "U" also but the fans need to man up and stop blaming a ref for them not blocking the front four of OSU.Oboy likes this. -
whatever.
I was talking about the Gary fumble anyway.
Yeah...you like the "U" ...riiiiiiiiiiight.padre31 likes this. -
at 4:30 is the Gary "fumble".

I do like the Canes...fans just need to move on and quit blaming referees.
Really looking foward to the documentary though.Pennington's Rocket Arm and Oboy like this. -

I saw some prominent players. They had greys on and stocking caps on. I said “What are you doing?” And they said, “We’re going out to get car stereos.” - Steve Walsh on the Canes players from the past.

What gets lost is the incredible graduation rate those Canes teams had.

It was sweet when the U got their revenge, what was the score something like 45-7 or something?
The one game that the Hurricanes took years to recover from was Alabama whipping our asses in basically the National Title Game, man we got smoked.
Needless, with Lil Nicky Coaching the Crimson Tide (of the Month), I have no love for that program..gafinfan likes this. -
Definitely worth checking out if you're a Canes fan.:theu: -
it was Catholics vs. Convicts #1...
The Notre Dame student newspaper also agreed that Gary did not fumble.
we lost 31-30 only after we elected to go for 2 instead of a tie.....
too bad we had a 1st and goal at the 1 taken away from us 4 minutes earlier.
it indeed costed one of the best college football teams of all-time ...a national championship.Frumundah Finnatic and padre31 like this. -
The Holtz Notre Dame era (when they were good) went like this:
1987 24-0 Miami (Jimmah)
1988 31-30 Notre Dame (Jimmah)
1989 27-10 Miami (Dennis)
1990 29-20 Notre Dame (Dennis) -
I saw 4 preview clips of this and got goose bumps listening to those guys talk. Even Lou Holtz pays tribute. I'll record it and watch it when the kids are asleep. Certain things deserve my undivided attention.

BTW, they left off the part about the U players also ordering food and booze and sending it up to the Sooner's rooms...
The bill was put on the room's credit cards...:lol:alen1 likes this. -

That is how it was Alen, they showed up in Phoenix in the camo, they all the time were doing stuff like that, in the paper, on air, they talked a bunch of **** and backed it up.

I am absolutely loving this documentary. I didn't really start watching football until 2005-06 and this is how I've always felt football should be. Very physical and kick *** - not literally lol. Today's game has too many rules. This is simply amazing though. Great job ESPN.

Fu nny thing is Alen, if you rewatch this, look at all of the players that went on to have good careers in the NFL.
Even Bernard "Tiger" Clark was a #2 pick for the Bengals.
just from the guys I noticed:
Greg Hawkins..#1 pick
Mike Irvin #1 pick
Greg Rackoczy #2 pick
Steve Walsh #1 overall via the supplemental draft
Bennie Blades #3 or #4 overall at Safety
Vinny T #1 overall
Randal Hill #1 pick
It just went on and on.
I happened to catch the 1983 game where the Canes upset the Cornhuskers for the national championship, Bernie Kosar was this skinny dude who threw funny...:D
BTW, what a great Recruiting Tool for Miami...:Dalen1 likes this. -
Alonzo was maybe #5 overall in 97.
Now that is just embarrassing, FSU made a rap video...that used to happen all the time in that era...and it sucked, even back then, everyone wanted to be the 85 Bears with the "superbowl shuffle"
Awful...:pity:
