Half of the UDFAs I know next to nothing about, other than reading some reports. It's highly possible there may yet be a trade for a veteran OT. No one knows anything, so what better time than to boldly declare who will make the 53 man roster, than now, when we know nothing.

i dont think Lane will make the team this year and jesus we still could not find a way to replace trusnik and spitler, i also hope we keep Patterson around

Though with our OT's Devlin may actually be a smart person to keep on the 53. -
It appears you are the One.
May the force be with you.Sumlit likes this. -
Also, I couldn't cut a Charles Clay in favor of an RJ Stanford. -
If I had to make a 53 man depth chart right now, it'd go something like this:
QB - Tannehill, Moore, Devlin
RB - Miller, Gillislee, Thomas
FB - Lane
WR - Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Matthews, Tyms
TE - Keller, Sims, Clay, Egnew
T - Martin, Thomas, Garner, Yeatman
G - Incognito, Louis
C - Pouncey, Samuda
DE - Wake, Odrick, Vernon, Shelby
DT - Soliai, Starks, Randall, Martin
OLB - Misi, Wheeler, Jordan, Kaddu, Trusnik
ILB - Ellerbe, Jenkins
CB - Grimes, Taylor, Marshall, Davis, Stanford, Presley
S - Jones, Clemons, McCray, Wilson
K - Sturgis
P - Fields
LS - Scales
RS - Thigpen
Notes
- Official site lists Thigpen as a RB. I put him as a "return specialist" for now.
- I think Daniel Thomas could be replaced by Jonas Gray, Cameron Marshall, or some other free agent cut later in camp.
- I think the 5th receiver will be a direct replacement for Marlon Moore's play on special teams. For now I left Tyms there as he was activated in week 17 last year.
- I'm unsure what they'll do with Charles Clay and Michael Egnew, but I've got them both on the roster as of now.
- I listed Dallas Thomas as T, until they presumably sign a free agent. I'd slot him at G after that. Miami mostly kept 8 OL last year, so I think there's going to be a surprise cut somewhere in there (Incognito?).
- Miami has a lot of movable parts in their front 7, so I don't think they'll keep a ton of guys.
- I stuck Jelani Jenkins as Ellerbe's backup at MIKE, mostly because I think he'll lop Austin Spitler off the roster due to special teams play.
- I kept 10 DBs. Miami did that most weeks last year, and it's something the Bengals almost always did when Coyle was there. I have Dimitri Patterson as a cap casualty.
Guys I'd suspect might not be around come week 1 that ARE on my depth chart right now:
Daniel Thomas
David Tyms
Michael Egnew
Will Yeatman
Richie Incognito
Josh Kaddu
R.J. Stanford
De'Andre Presley
Jimmy Wilson

Bold move leaving Dmitri Patterson off the CB list. Daniel Thomas is off the RBs, which is suprising but entirely possible

I can't see 6 WR's on the roster. And there will most likely be 3 QB's.
I also think Daniel Thomas will make the team.Bpk likes this. -
I hope Will Yeatman can show us something this year.
A lot of people ripped Egnew (as a rookie) because he couldn't get on the field.
How long is this Yeatman experiment going to continue?TooGoodForDez likes this. -
Cuncushin-Fumbelitis is a sickness and should not be tolerated on this team. -

like your selection with very few changes: yeats will be replaced by a veteran OT & jeff fuller will make the WR list

I see a chance for Jones at cb and Collins at wr.

I think we naturally root for the underdog, but I believe Patterson is a favorite over a guy like Nolan Carroll or even Will Davis, and Thomas is a favorite over Gray.

The offensive line remains a huge question mark. It could actually be worse than last year if the players you have listed end up being the players they keep.
Tannehill needs to develop, but at this time he remains a question mark.
None of the RB's on the roster have ever been a starter in the NFL. Personally I would have preferred the Dolphins kept Bush, but we can only hope Miller is the back many people on here think he will be.
I wasn't a big fan of Fasano, but I don't think Keller is a big upgrade at the TE position. He might be a better receiver, but his blocking leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully Sims will be able to come in and provide more to the TE position than Egnew did last year. As far as Egnew is concerned , I have no idea if he will ever be a productive player in the NFL. Time will tell
At the WR position, I don't see Gibson as an upgrade to Bess. I would rather have seen the Dolphins keep Bess and sign him to a new contract. Hopefully Wallace will be the impact WR the Dolphins signed him to be and Hartline continues to have a few decent games during the upcoming season. As far as the rest of the WR's on your list goes, they are all huge questions marks right now.
I think the defense will continue to be the dominant unit on this roster and the offense will probably continue to struggle scoring points in 2013. It is just too bad the Dolphins weren't able to upgrade the LT and RG positions in the draft or in free agency, according to your present 53 man list. I also have concerns about the RT position with this list of players. Hopefully the Dolphins will sign one of the veteran RT's they have talked to in the last week. Martin protecting the blindside for Tannehill is a really scary thought, as far as I am concerned.
This roster might be good enough to win 8 or possibly 9 games, but I don't see this as a playoff roster. I think it will be at least one more year and further upgrades on the offense, before this team is a legitimate playoff contender. -

I like Gillislee, but I can't see him starting over Miller. Miller's got better vision and is more explosive. He also wasn't as bad at pass-pro, IMO, as many on here would lead you to believe. -
-
Wallace can certainly take it to the endzone on any given play. Miller has the speed to break long runs, but until he shows he can do it as a starting RB in the NFL, there remain questions about how effective he will be in the NFL as the primary RB on the team.
The rest of the skill players on the offense are rather mediocre at this time. Hopefully some of these players will take a giant step up and become impact players at their positions, especially Tannehill. -
Updating for Clabo.

If the roster looks set, shift money forward from some of your major players. Cameron Wake, Mike Wallace, and Reshad Jones should get large amounts of future cash thrown towards them immediately to fill up the cap after June 1st. Move dollars forward to open up the situation in one year.
If you've got the 53 more or less set (more so than in other years) I think that's definitely appropriate.
