The makers all confirm that the expansion is the final thing that will be released for The Witcher 3, and that they have nothing in the works for future Witcher titles, though they don't completely close the door on the possibility at some point down the line. They've built a ton of goodwill with me and others though, and I'll be very interested in their future games now when they're released.

Cyberpunk 2077 and it's probably the game I'm looking forward to the most in my entire gaming "career" ;).

If anyone had played the game, but was on the fence about getting the two DLC additions, I strongly suggest that you do it. The first one, Heart of Stone, is great. The best analogy I can give with my own experience is that its like all of the good DLC for a game like Dragon Age or Mass Effect in one pack, with new characters, new missions, new equipment, game features, and it enlarges the game's primary map, putting things in areas that were otherwise empty. Its very much well worth it, and was the best DLC I'd ever seen...

Until I started Blood and Wine. I don't have adequate words to say how awesome it is, other than its basically The Witcher 3.5. Its almost an entire new game piggybacked onto the primary one, plus you can go back and forth from it and the regular missions and areas as you desire. I don't know how far into it I am, but its amazing, and huge. My greatest gaming desire right now is that more studios emulate CR Projekt Red with all of the things that have done with this title.

I stalled on this game at like level 14....I am a completionist and I got a bit overwhelmed. I decided just to finish the story to see what it was about and I fell in love and finished it. Now I am working my way through the DLC. Outstanding Title deserving all the accolades .

The guy who should really be bitter about The Witcher is Michael Moorcock, creator of Elric. Geralt is a direct copy of Elric.

Then thank goodness for Elric, because we eventually got a great video game out of it! :knucks:

As much as I loved The Witcher 3 and both expansions I'd be fine with them never making another Witcher game.

Oh not me. Even if its ten years from now, I'll be eagerly waiting the whole time.

I don't have a clue on how designing a game works. Can they use the gaming engine from a previous game and just change what we see? So when it comes to Witcher the overall gaming experience is fine, but maybe they could change the characters, plot, etc. and make it a whole new game without having to start from scratch.

Well, any games that will come out in the future will be on the next generation of consoles, so a lot of the design will have to happen from the ground up. If they were making multiple games on the same console, like Ubisoft does for Assassin's Creed, or like with Sports games, then they can use the code and build on it and tweek it.

But CDPR is a very small studio with only a limited number of people working for them. The good side of that is that they can create wonderful games that the public enjoys without the oversight of a corporate overlord like EA. The bad side is that it can take forever for them to make a new game. Bethesda (Elder Scrolls, Fallout) is the same way.

Depending on the style of games that you enjoy, the next 18 months or so look to be kind of bleak for new releases. Not a lot on the horizon that interests me. However, once the next generation of consoles are out, things will really pick up. Elder Scrolls 6, Dragon Age 4, a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, more AC games, perhaps even new Mass Effect games, and other new properties are all on the way. But likely not until at least the end of 2020, and most will be later.

Cool. That will give me time to save for a new gaming monitor I have my eye on. :-)

So...does Witcher 3 really hold up? Still a good game for someone who is RPG hungry?

I'm a PS4 guy, so my other options are like....something in the Tales series. Maybe Bersaria.

One of the best games ever made. I played it through twice, the second time with all of the DLC. Its fantastic.

I'm currently playing Assassins Creed Odyssey, which borrows a lot from TW3, and in very good ways.
