The Dolphins have received permission to interview Steelers LBs coach Keith Butler for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Butler, 53, has long been considered the heir apparent to Steelers DC Dick LeBeau, but LeBeau isn't retiring yet. Butler was also under heavy consideration for the Cardinals' defensive coordinator position last offseason. He played in the league as a linebacker for the Seahawks from 1978 to 1987.
