The line, the linebackers, the secondary all need a major overhaul. Problem is we have paid a TON of money to some ineffective players. How much is Pouncey getting paid to snap the ball over the QB head? How much is Grimes getting paid to get roasted all game? Do we even HAVE another safety? The only one I saw was Jones.
This team needs rebuilt and I hate to say it will take more than one draft to fill all these holes.
So buckle up, gonna be a bumpy ride. Again.

We need, in no particular order:
GuardS (plural), Strong Safety, like 3 ****ing corners, 2/3 linebackers (replace Sheppard and Misi), a Pass rushing DE (possibly 2, Vernon is lame), and a head coach.

This sucks. -
You're only ever 2 drafts/offseasons away if you play your cards right.

So how much are exactly paying Tannehill to throw passes less than 10 yards off the line of scrimmage?

The current CBA pretty much ensures teams can dramatically improve rather quickly.

With complete sincerity - this team is exactly who we knew they were, despite any misguided day-dreaming to the contrary. The D-line was already a strength in terms of pass-rush, we just replaced it, improved it a bit. The run D was a problem and further exacerbated by the linebacking corps. The secondary was already a weak spot with some bright sparks around (Jenkins and Jones have been a revelation but Grimes has dimmed and the linebackers...well), the WR corp has improved a bit, but right now we can't say Jordan is better than Clay, Jennings isn't inspirational. Special teams has some bright elements and some grim elements. Oh, and then there's the OL. Same broken OL for 3 years. It's not enough to add a couple of new parts to a totally broken line, because (and shhhhh, this is a secret) football is a contact sport and people get injured, so you sort of need serviceable depth).
This team has talent in places, but it's below average in other places and I think we all know the adage about chains and weak links. Football is a game of balance and depth above everything else (in both talent and strategy). No team that is imbalanced is going to succeed. Of course, having the sort of balance where a team is equally crap across the board isn't going to get you anywhere either, but you can't be great in some areas and weak in others, nor can you have a 1 dimensional approach. Until this is sorted Miami isn't going anywhere. -

The problem with that sentence is that it could apply to any number of games we've played in the past 4 seasons, not just today.MonstBlitz, DolphinGreg and Athletic4ws like this. -
